Thanks for sharing this excellent guide, we are blown away by all the choices for Alaska but your video gave us a great insight into which are the best itinerary and ships to choose 👏
Sailed on NCL Encore out of Seattle in June 23. It was simply amazing. The trip of a lifetime!
So did we! LOL
What did you enjoy about the cruise please? What type of cabin? Thanks!
We went on Celebrity's Millenium last Sept, and it was our 2nd time to Alaska. We flew into Anchorage from Seattle, took a wonderful train ride down to Seward, spent 3 days there, taking some outstanding tours and boat rides while there, then hopped on the ship. Our ports were Juneau, (trip into Glacier Bay was cancelled due to bad weather), Ketchikan, Skagway, & Icy Straits, disembarking in Vancouver, Canada. Getting to see more of Alaska was high on our list, and I highly recommend the White Pass Train ride in Skagway. Learning more history about Alaska sparked a fire in me, and I immediately read James Michener's book, Alaska, when we got home. We're already talking about taking another trip there again and extending it so we can go inland even more into Alaska. So far Celebrity had been our favorite cruise line. Oh, and the restaurant, La Petite Chef, was AMAZING! It was so different than anything we've ever seen, and if anyone is unfamiliar with it, search on youtube for videos. Now I want to see their other shows.
We are 4 seniors that will be on the Brilliance of the Seas in 3 weeks. We like the smaller ships because it is what is outside we want to see. We are Canadians so sailing out of Vancouver round trip is ideal.
We are taking our first Alaskan cruise in June out of Vancouver for 14 days on the Royal Princess that goes to Glacier Bay, (2X) Hubbard, and College Fjord. Also our first Princess cruise so only have youtube videos on what to expect.
Going on first cruise tour on the Grand Princess to Alaska.
Sailed on the Eurodam in 2022 to Alaska. We loved that ship, the crew and our Neptune suite. We did NOT like the short time we were in Victoria. A great city but need more than 4 hours starting at 8pm…. Thanks for sharing
I was on her last May to Alaska and will be on RC Quantum of Seas on 5-20. Will compare later.
Disney does not do fireworks for Alaska and most Northern European sailings due to restrictions.
Went on Discovery last year to Alaska. Weather was amazing, shorts, T-shirt’s, bikinis. I’ve cruised Alaska six times. This was my all time favorite.
Good to know. What was the itinerary?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Juneau, Skagway, Victoria, and Ketchikan.
What month did you go?
@@raymondcastillo9720 July
Doing the Princess Discovery ship in June sailing out of Seattle. 1st Alaska cruise!!
Have a great cruise. Is that the itinerary that visits both glacier bay and Hubbard glacier?
You’re going love it. Beautiful ship, beautiful scenery. Enjoy!!!
NCL Encore out of Seattle in 2022. Loved the itinerary and service.❤❤
NCL Encore is a great ship!
Fingers crossed I get to see the northern lights when I go on encore on the last week of August
We are doing Cunard Queen Elizabeth this summer. Have you been on that one?
Great video. I'm surprised not to see Seabourn, Regent, or Silversea on the list.
They are at the end. We haven’t sailed much with those brands so tough to recommend something you haven’t experienced. Do you typically sail with them?
Going on the Majestic Princess May 19.
Have a great trip. Which itinerary?
Hi, your video is great! One of the best! Me and my husband we will do alaska in summer on celebrity edge..i hope we have done a good choise...because it was so hard the choise...i regreat not choise princess. Because glaciar bay is so beautiful...well ..thank you so much for the great video. If i watch before...
Celebrity Edge is a great ship. You’ll have a great time. Glacier Bay is one of our favorites, but we didn’t visit until our 3rd trip. So you’ll have to go back. Have you sailed with Celebrity before?
No, its the first time.. @@Eatsleepcruise1
Taking Celebrity Edge to Alaska on the 4th of July.
I will be doing a 14 night north/south out of Vancouver on Royal Princess in August. I can’t wait!
Have a great trip. We did southbound on Majestic Princess last year. You visiting Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay?
Yes and glacier bay twice!
Norwegian Jewel does also 9 day cruises from/to Seattle in 2024. I will be cruising with her in October 2024. So excited - I can't wait. 🚢
Me too! Can’t wait!
@@erinlancaster1266 👍👍Maybe we meet - I will often be found in Thermal Spa Suite (whole cruise pass) and/or at meetings of solo travellers.
I am going the next week on 19 October 2024. Excited but worried that a lot of stores and excursions will be closed.😢
@@dixiefortune3568Excursions by cruiseline should be offered. Third party excursions could be a problem, bc some will have closed business already with my cruise. There will be shops closed, not all. But 🤩jiiepieh🤩 you will get great deals. But the best: Ports will be much less crowded. So, more calmness to enjoy nature. Have fun at your cruise.
Do you think the sanctuary is worth it on the Grand Princess in Alaska?
Great video. Doing the NCL Bliss the first week of June (2 1/2 weeks ) CANNOT WAIT!!!!
Have fun!we sailed on her on 2018. What itinerary?
Leaving soon on the NCL sun
Which itinerary?
Great video.
Wonderland cinéma is on the « wish » ship and not in Alaska.
I’m sailing celebrity edge this August from Seattle.
Have a great time. The ship is one of our favorites. Have you sailed with Celebrity before?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 yes. This past March on the Celebrity Ascent.
I’m leaving on the Grand Princess on Tuesday. Hopefully the weather will be good.
Have fun!
@@Eatsleepcruise1thanks!
Will a travel agent be able to find me a better price on a cruise and flight from east coast, or is it better to just book online with celebrity? Can anyone recommend an agent if that’s the best way to go?
Getting ready to head to Alaska on Hurtigruten. I'm really surprised I find little to no information about this line in any reviews. Any plans to try them out in the future?
We are just getting into expedition cruising and they are on our list. What is the cruise itinerary?
We are doing the Celebrity Summit land and cruise tour in August. We are so excited!
Have a great trip. We have yet to do a land tour. Where are you staying?
You didn't mention the Westerdam and its special 28-Day Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice Itinerary that includes more off-the-beaten-path ports like Valdez, Kodiak, Dutch Harbor, & Nome.
That is a great cruise. But most individuals aren’t able to take that amount of time off. Are you going ?
Best Alaskan cruise from Seattle or Vancouver (RT) for first timers please? Planning to go next May or June. Thanks!
We would recommend a cruise that goes to glacier bay. NCL Encore if you want more amenities. Or perhaps HAL Koningsdam. If you need help planning let us know.
@@Eatsleepcruise1thank you! Seriously considering NCL Encore as our 15 yr old so will be with us. HAL may be too dull for him…we usually sail on RCL mega ships (Caribbean).
why do cruise lines send their older ships to alaska (expection of celebrity)?
We are sailing to Alaska soon on NCL and want to do the white pass train in Skagway. However we are a bit confused with all the different options for the train with so many different excursion times. Does anyone have advice on the best white pass train excursion?
We did the round trip on the train last year and seems like 2 hours long. Left around 2 hours after we arrived in Port. If I'm not mistaken we had to take the tender in that Port. We were on the royal princess princess. princess.
We have done this tour twice and usually bucket it with a bus tour. The round trip is the same route and narration, so it is redundant.
We took the White Pass train last year off of Celebrity. We chose the 4 hr by train 1 way and bused back. It's a lovely relaxing ride as you slowly go up the mountains and passes, and learn the history of the gold miners who came there, many not surviving. We crossed into Canada and disembarked shortly after for the trip back. It made a lasting impression on is.
I absolutely agree with eatsleepcruise on this. We took a middle distance train/bus tour to Frasier Canada last year (need a passport) that was a bus trip one way and train trip the other way. We got to experience the train ride, which was amazing, and also got to stop at several locations along the highway for pictures and to experience the waterfalls. Plus it was a bit cheaper than the train both ways. Our bus tour guide was great and had all kinds of info on Alaska. Hope you enjoy your cruise to Alaska! We are going again in a week! 😂
We were on the Norwegian Bliss before Covid. Had the worst trip ever!!
Why?
Jesus Christ! I had no idea just how many huge cruise ships there are
For Alaska its HAL or nothing.
Holland America is great, but we’ve also had good experiences on other cruise lines. It all depends on your preferences and your travel party.
Big disappointment seeing Alaska Terrible cruise
@@aliceransone3464
I flew there, and then proceeded to place 1,728 miles on our Hertz rental car, over the two-week trip:
Every mile was an absolute delight, and I despise road trips.
What could you possibly find disappointing about your Alaskan cruise?
Which cruise line was inferior, and I hope you advised them about your problems...
@@aliceransone3464do tell…which cruise?
I just hope the cruise ships don’t get attacked by stupid Orcas, because Orcas have recently become the Hitlers of the Sea.
