Absolutely!!!! We went on the journey with him through the movies. Epic ending...they all had to grow up. He did his part and admiring the results...them kids came far.
All three of these movies are awesome. The most emotional part of the movies is when Bombay looks at charlie in the stands and it makes you think back to the first movie. It's a shame no one makes movies like this anymore. These movies are classics
I think there should be a 4th movie that it's like a reboot of the franchise. But now it's Charlie coaching a team and with maybe some of the old cast coming back to help out. That would be a movie i would really like to watch.
Oh man, when Bombay walks away with that epic score (music). Tears me up every time! You think about the beginning of the series. Just like the kids at the start of the series, he was in a rough place. Him and the players worked to get themselves in a better place. The scene where is he walking away means that his job is done. The Ducks can fly on their own now. Edit June 2024: another thought lol. The fact that teachers in this country are so disrespected. Are all teachers good? No but there are those that honestly have such a positive impact that students remember and love them long after their teachers are gone. That’s Bombay (coaches are teachers) and Mr. Feeny while we’re at it lol!
+bballfanism Yeah that made no sense to me. So unless the teams have their own separate mascots 😒 then the mascot shouldn't have been changed lol. The Warrior name happened when the school was established it seems. Meaning, the mascot is way older than the students lol!
reminds me of my baseball coach I had for 8 years and we all where brothers and then high school came along and differnt coach but when I saw my old coach at our state game he knew he thought all to be champions
As I kid I misinterpreted that bombay shot completely. I think I was interpreting as either the warriors players were secretly led by him and that was a final test for the ducks or He was going to be coaching the warriors in Mighty Ducks 4 lol. That ending really got to me too though!
charlie told the jocks "last time u had an unfair advantage one of us banksy" Jocks- " keep him he never had the heart of a warrior anyways" The puck hit him in the heart for the save
Loved that little clip at the end where Charlie looks at Gordon sitting in the crowd. That sign of acknowledgment from Bombay, who now realizes that he's taught all he can to Charlie and his teammates about being a true team.....as he takes one final look before departing as Varsity heads back to the locker room......simply astounding.
well technically if a majority of those Varsity players were seniors then yes after all they would presumably move on 2 a big DI school or something and play hockey there
When i see Charlie and Bombay look at one another, i feel theres a double meaning, like a father proud of a son moment. And then it transitioned to a goodbye-farewell-thank you for everything scene and the music sets the scene. Theres a sense of reverence and gratitude between the two that made it worthwhile
Well remember in the first one Bombay & Charlie sharing stories about their dads Bombay his passed away & Charlies ran out on him so they had to be the man of the house real fast.
Great ending. Not just with Bombay, but also the varsity team walking off the ice with their tails between their legs. Loved that since the goalie Scooter was seemingly the only player on the varsity who didn't have a hateful vendetta against the Ducks during the movie.
What a amazing finale for a trilogy. That scene when bombay walks out always gets to me. It's like the perfect ending. One last smile to his old kids. It's like letting them be on there own. Almost a passing of the torch to Oreilly.
The three duck players that were defining on the 5-3 for the last two minutes were the ones who scored the game winning goals in the three movies they played in no joke. Conway in part 1, Banks in part 2, and Goldberg in part 3.
Charlie was always the leader .. always the captain coach knew he was .. but his failure to adapt to the new style of play made coach orien do something he didn’t want to do and not award him the C before the end. Once Charlie adapted you could see the respect and love with coach orien.
To see Charlie EARN the C back, made me feel proud. He wasnt the team player and had to deal with anger issues against Bombay, but once those were resolved, he found his way back. Thats the crowning moment of the entire series
Ending made me tear up there Bombay leaving seeing how he’s tougher them everything he knows. What makes it even sadder is that he’s been with them sense they were little kids tough them helped them grow up
Charlie again showing true leadership knowing they wouldn’t mark Goldberg he would be open he knew scoring the winning goal for Goldberg would boost his confidence and self esteem and mean the world to him. He could of scored himself but chose to give it to Goldberg That’s a true leader and unselfish
It just goes to show you; when Bombay looked at his ducks he meant one statement: "When the winds blows and the sky is black, no matter how far apart we are; DUCKS FLY TOGETHER!" 4:59
the saddest part in the movie is when Adam and Charlie got into a fight Charlie was the only one who was nice to him in the first one and Charlie was always giving adam pep talks in the second one
is no one gonna talk about how Adam was the only one who got into varsity and he still wanted to be on the duck team and then he gave up varsity to play with the ducks even though the were kinda mean to him while he was on varsity he's one of the strongest players like on the first one he went unconscious just to make a goal and in the 2nd one he was still the best player with a injured arm
D2 is probably my favorite with the new cast added. Plus it’s funny to go back and watch and see how corny (in a good way) the movie actually is but a great movie. It’s like they don’t make movies like this anymore. Where are the “Sandlots” “Rookie of the year” “Mighty Duck” movies of Today?
no Bombay said 2 Charlie how he was da real Minnesota Miracle Man not him for he kept da team together he always reminded Bombay of why he loved hockey and he learned a new level of hockey from Orion it was what Bombay had hope would get accomplished and of course we know da rest is history.
My biggest concern looking back on this movie is that they missed the mark on character development. The biggest two targets were Charlie and Coach Orion. But if we look at it deeper they could have paid attention to the other key players. After all, Goldberg went from second string goalie, to defensive powerhouse. Banks once again learned that a team is where your heart is, and his was always with the ducks. They could have even cut to Portman in Chicago before he suited up with the ducks again. Not saying it wasn't a good movie. It will always be a classic but I realized they missed some marks.
Goldberg didn't go from second string goalie to defenseman. He was the first string goalie in both D1 and D2. It was only at the end of D2 when Julie "The Cat" Gaffney- whom everyone and their mother knew was the superior goaltender- FINALLY got the chance to prove her worth.
^^D3 is like the bare bones of a decent movie, that unfortunately seems too rushed & sloppy to hit the mark emotionally every time. It's better than the flashy clichéd color-by-numbers D2, but lacks the essential grounding that made D1 so special. Sadly D3 was also too heavy on Charlie/Bombay as an arc to the detriment of the team story which was the point of the original film. I love your idea for a Portman scene in Chicago before returning, maybe with him talking to Fulton 1-on-1 about why he stayed away. D3 also needed introspective scenes for the OG players Connie/Guy & Averman and for Kenny (I would cut Luis & the cheerleader and some of the Linda scenes to make time for that). We needed to see more dilemma amongst the Ducks - who wanted to go pro besides Adam? Who wanted to move away to College after grad? Who wanted or needed to give up playing to focus on something else like Orion? Who was drifting away from the Ducks' social circle as they got older? Missed opportunity.
Shawn Lavin I tend to think Charlie did that because he knew that the goalie read his move the first time, so he figured if he added a twinkle to his move that the goalie didnt see coming, then it would give an easy shot for Goldberg
Its interesting watching this movie as kid and not really understanding the message behind it. Now watching it as an adult I completely understand the message. Furthermore I also coach a city league flag football team. I have loyal boys who have been with me since almost the start of it also intreststing to me understanding the loyalty a player can show to a coach and how much a difference it can make on an athletes performance
The Ducks had one number on their minds, zero as in shutout. Right, Coach O'Ryan? God I truly despised the Varsity team other than the goalie, Scooter.
+Blastro The Varsity coach was also a referee from D2, and the redhead woman on the board of trustees was also one of the ladies at the women's clothing store on Rodeo Drive in D2.
4:07 Best image in the whole movie. Heh! Guess what, Varsity? Now you'll be playing under a modified version of the Freshmen's uniform! Won't THAT stick in your craws....?!
+jay jay lawrence Would be nice, but most of the Ducks are now grown up living out their own careers. Depends on who's involved, and IF Emilio Estevez is interested. Also, Disney no longer is affiliated with the Ducks' franchise. It would be pretty tough.
I love all 3 of the Mighty Duck movies. Im sure they will remake it some where down the line or make a 4th ducks movie. One thing I like doing now is since Ive played Hockey since I started watching these movies is calling all REAL HOCKEY penalties that they dont call for the movie magic.
A LITTLE KNOWN FACT..HE WANTED THE ENDING LIKE THAT..AS TO SAY HE WATCH U ALL GROW UP, IT WAS TIME FOR U ALL TO GO ON LIVE EACH DAY TO THE BEST N THE FULLEST..THAT ENDING WAS AMAZING TO ME
I love the refs who were clearly smoking crack during this play. They missed an interference, charging, and unsportsmanlike conduct call on Goldberg, and the clock keeps going down after they scored. Good movie though.
But at the same time they ignored several penalties against the Varsity, one of them also being an interference. So it kind of makes up for it. That's one thing I don't like about the series, it is okay to have hitting, penalties, etc... but at least make it closer to an actual game. One missed here or there is fine but it is excessive throughout the series lol.
Anybody else notice the stereotype of all the villain teams in this trilogy? The Hawks, Team Iceland, and Varsity Warriors? They all had black uniforms. But hey, just imagine the next game the Varsity plays in new getup now that Eden Hall is the home of the Ducks. Ducks: Hey Varsity! See you got new uniforms and jackets again! Lookin' good! Too bad the colors are wrong though... They're not our signature green, purple, and white, they're red and black. But, I guess we and Anaheim are the true owners of these colors...
banks was pretty underrated..he was always the best player ...always..what I liked about the first 2 filmss was Charlie wasn't the main character and he was an underdog and so was his childhood team...and his relationship with his coach softening his heart made the team better..it wasn't about hockey...the actual gimmicks were trash and not realistic but that was the point..the first 2 films weren't about a great team great future pros of hockey, it wasn't underdog story of misfit kid but grown college immature whiny emo moody adults ... ..the 3rd film is only about Charlie and hockey which is a shame ...
Asmosis Jones The 3rd movie is a nonsensical embarrassment with a great exciting climax and ending. Yeah there was another error earlier it was only supposed to be the end of the 2nd but shows the clock winding down and all 3 period lights are on, meaning that should have been the end of regulation before Portman joins the team
the emotions you feel when Bombay turns and looks and walks out for the final time is indescribable.

At 2:25, we all know that a certain (Now retired) coach from Iceland is watching and saying "DEH GOALIEEE!!!!""NOOOOOOO!!!!!"

D3 was my least favorite MD movie but the way Bombay walks out to the music, and gives one final look back, was the perfect way to end the trilogy.
I agree the first was the best. The 3rd movie ending gave me goosebumps. The ducks movies always had good endings you have to give it to them 🥰
i'm so happy

Very misleading cover because Bombay isn’t in the damn movie much.
Charlie: Goldberg! You did it, Goldberg! You did it! I knew you could do it!

"He passes it to...Goldberg???"
Any reason why he passed to Goldberg who was just switched to a skater from a goaltender??
Element of surprise... Everyone would have expected Charlie to either pass to Banks, or take the shot himself...
Goldberg also had a very powerful shot the knuckle puck that any other goalie would be afraid of.
