Great points in this Teaching Pastor K.
With regards to divorce, not everyone who goes through divorce is unserious about marraige. For some Christians it is the only option left after you have explored every option to make the marriage work.
Secondly, online dating will ultimately take a Christian who wants to marry nowhere.
However, there is nothing wrong with meeting someone online if you meet them at the right place or through the right people online.
Just like you have good and some bad christians in church,, you also have good and some bad Christians online.
To ensure one settles down with a good partner, what is most important is prayerfully and carefully evaluating the potential partner irrespective of where they met.
Keep up the good work sir!.

It's really very sad that today, what we have are men coming around women and testing them for financial capability. Instead of proving themselves financially and materially responsible before the woman, they come and are the first to make financial request to a woman they claim to like/love. Is this correct? This matter worries me.
Or am I the only woman experiencing this? That men come proclaiming their love to you, they've not done anything towards you (they praise you for being a "strong woman" since they met you putting yourself together) but are already demanding from you

While, it's is 100% true to be on the same page with a potential spouse. I think it's quite a wide spread assumption that everyone in diaspora sees divorce as something to use as a back up.
I am in diaspora, and Nope....by God's grace, divorce is not an option for me. Amen

I respect your views as a smart man. But for truth sake, I respectfully disagree with some of the things you said about marriage.
Money, riches or a job should not be an absolute requirement for marriage. The reason being that difficult times can appear anytime in the relationship. Even when people start wealthy they are not guaranteed to stay wealthy. That doesn't mean they should end the relationship or blame their partner if things gets tough.
Take for instance Job. God planned difficult times for him and his wife. And his wife couldn't stand the difficult times because she wasn't godly like Job. She was not a person of faith.
Unfortunately, your message is encouraging young people to become like Job's wife. People who will give up on their partner because of tough times. And yet many of those tough times are ordained by God.
Without faith we cannot please God. Marriage was instituted by God not for us to live and easy life everyday in the flesh, but there are also tough times. And God might ordain those tough times through material shortage for some. So that we can live by faith and trust him.
In fact I will generalize that for every godly relationship, God has prepared a test of faith.
But we should be confident because God also promise us to not give us more than what we can bear. That's why we shouldn't be afraid of hard times because they are ordained and regulated by God who loves us.
Another example is Abraham an Sarah. God gave barren wife to his son Abraham to test their faith through that problem which is much worse than lack of job which can easily be fixed by men.
Also Mary and Joseph. Added to the fact that they were poor and God himself gave them a child in poverty (that's why they gave birth to him in a manger), but they were persecuted and had to flee to a pagan nation where they were probably confined (because Jews didn't mix with unbelievers) and had to rely on gifts (like that of the 3 king).
One reason God allowed those couples to have difficult times and to be strengthen in faith is because they were going to raise children of faith. God predestined Jesus to be so strong in faith. So he ideally had to be raised by parents who were God fearing and strong in faith to show him the way of the Lord.
And to talk about Isaac as you've mentioned, he didn't get married with his own money. But with his dad's money. The spirit of the message I believe is that it's ok to marry with people's gifts. Gifts of loved ones and even of the church (like in the first church of Acts of apostles). You don't absolutely have to earn your own money and assets. Just like parents make all kinds of sacrifices to invest in the education of their children, they can also invest in the marriage of their children when needed.
There is also an urge to get married on time. Many young people delay their marriage and after marry old with little excitement and a lot of depreciation. Mostly women who aged fast. Their beauty for instance, will not serve its full purpose if they don't offer the best of it to their husband.
God's way always requires faith. If you want to do Marriage God's way, you will need faith. And faith is individual. We should never force people to marry or not to marry at a certain age or in a certain way. But we should encourage everyone to do it according to their faith.
Another great reason why people need to marry early even before the job or other assets it because they need marriage to give their best endeavor in whatever they do.
One of the best way to help people is to empower them to get into relationships on time. They will have much more motivation to work hard and build their families and careers together. That's the way of sheep; through love and unity. Not like goats in the world who cannot live together and enter in other's lives manly for profit.

If you properly evaluate your point you'll see that the case of Job was not a case of laziness or idleness which is what the preacher refuted. Job's case can be likened to health issues, misfortunes, disappointments, etc but not idleness, laziness, etc.
      Thanks

    • @uzochukwuobijiofor9523
      @uzochukwuobijiofor9523 Před 3 lety +5

Also, Joseph and Mary could easily pay to rent at an inn, but the Bible said they were no available rooms at that time, not that they couldn't afford one.
Yes we will all have to go through tests and trials but that is not the topic or emphasis in this short teaching.
      Thanks.
