Very thorough walkthrough / tutorial of the SP-16 we need to see more of these, this is what they call evergreen 🌲 content, it’ll always be useful and continue to grow, this a great video for viewers to add to a play list.
Thx 🙏🏾 Dmogul, really appreciate the positive comment. I feel the same. It was time I did a video tutorial on the SP-16. I really enjoy creating videos like these with the hope that it helps someone that maybe struggling to learn there gear ⚙️ 👊🏾
Yes I agree with you as well. Pioneer was on to something. I truly hate that they didn’t keep the vision with the SP-16 it is a really cool sampler/sequencer. Appreciate u for stopping by and commenting 👊🏾
Cool video. I've had one for quite a few years and there's no other gear ive ever owned that has given me the sheer amount of joy as the sp-16. I do wish that pio would make a mini, in the pocket version.
Hey @the sodium lights appreciate you taking time to watch my video and leave a comment. I agree it is a super fun sample/sequencer to use. I can honestly say that I don’t even feel limited when using it even though it has a few limitations 🤣. Hope you consider subscribing to the channel if u haven’t already! Would love to hear 👂 some of you beats 🎧 made on the SP-16👊🏾
@@IMakeBeats damn right! it's the one thing I'd save from the fire. An absolute masterpiece of engineering, and even the ui looks sleek circa'22, unlike the mpc's. I did change my filter encoders though...the only cheap thing about the machine. Pio fcked up by not realising that updates bring in more sales. Their loss. Subbed xo (and thank for the reply)
One of the best on the tube concerning the effort and finesse exhibited in your presentations. All the basics of a good video are always checked, but you clearly push that bar-of-par to the side with over-the-shoulder guidance, concise and clear narration, and thoughtful timelines that cover the meat-and-potatoes of what could facilitate the ease of use on the gear reviewed. This is key to help jump-start a beginners journey while also providing nuggets of knowledge for the most seasoned of music creatives. That said, I can certainly appreciate this video as an owner of the Toraiz SP-16, because you captured just how intuitive the machine can be, instead of having an over-bloated interface with extensive menu-diving in demand. But don’t let the simplicity fool you, because this machine can be an onion with rabbit holes for those that want to dive in. And although it has a few lacks such as built-in VST’s, a massive sound library, and polyphony… it always seems to provide a workaround to remedy that shortlist of items that sometimes present themselves. Overall… great tutorial and detailed walkthrough that I certainly enjoyed. Keep these great posts coming my brother.
To my good friend @Deleswa Productions I always look forward to getting your comments. They are always well received and very well written. Let it be known that it was you that turned me on to the SP-16. I was blown away from the sound you were producing from it and I just had to follow suit! I appreciate that you appreciate this video. I did put some effort into it. and I'm glad it was well received. The video was already 22min long. But yet there is still so much more you can cover on this sampler/sequencer. Thanks for always supporting really means a lot. I will do my best to keep the videos coming!
Hey 👋🏾 King 👑 I believe I said the same to you in a comment on one of your videos. We both deserve it. We been faithful to our channels and it’s starting to pay off. And as far as going crazy on the reviews, I’m just trying to catch up with you. 🤣. They are fun videos and make for easy content. It’s so hard sometime to come up with video topics, gear reviews take 50% of the headache away! 🤕. Appreciate you stopping by watching and commenting. I’m having a blast 💥 I know you got another one coming can’t wait to see what ur next one is!👏🏾👊🏾
i normally don't watch the tutorials for gear i don't have/don't plan to have, but SP-16 is a bit special situation - i was often thinking if i did the right choice regarding SP-16 vs MPC, so was definitely interesting to see its performance in the detail 🎛 i think i like the hardware layout (like buttons/etc) more on sp16 but software more on mpc
@Actionless, hey 👋🏾 appreciate you stopping by. It does have a very simple performance configuration compared to the mpc gear and others like it! I like that it’s not a lot of screen diving. Everything you need is accessible from The Home Screen! U can easily make A beat within a few mins. And if you start off with a template, it’s even faster! If you get one, let me know 🤣
@@IMakeBeats i would probably just wait until they will release Force 2 with faster hardware - it's already on the market for 4 years and recently they released thay keyboard with more memory - so i think in 1-3 years they might drop faster line of MPC/Force

you can use slices of a longer sample, for example you could chain various drums in one sample, or use some drum break loop, and then p-lock the slices
@Ron Burg thx for the high praise on the video. Hope you consider subscribing if you haven’t already! I do know that you can have 16 sounds on scene 1 pattern 1 and then have it switch to Scene 2 pattern 1 and have 16 different sound options. So if you wanted you could create a song that switched between scenes to produce the effects I believe your trying to achieve. Also @Jiri Horaek responded with another option as well. Hope this helps. 👍🏾🎹
First off, Thanks for stopping by. I hope you consider subscribing. So yes each user mode can assign up to 8 effects each. But keep in mind, that even though you have 8 assigned you can still only have 2 of those 8 effects from the user mode active at one time. Because each track only has 2 effect slots. Hope that helps.
Thx 🙏🏾 for stopping by, everyone has different taste when it comes to gear. I honestly don’t like the 404mk2 work flow. Still dope machine but not for me and i own the 404 but dont use it. 🤷🏾
