  • Secrets of Beach Metal Detecting UK | Minelab Equinox 800 | South Coast Detecting
About me…. I’m normally hitting the parks or the beach with one of the many detectors I use for metal detecting the beach and fields. Metal Detecting can be fun and at the same time a nightmare due to the way the beach is always shifting, but if you hit it on a good day... BOOM! could be GOLD could be SILVER! Incredible. You can use these videos as a kind of online education but they’re really not! Oh and make sure you’re detecting is legal.

Metal Detecting is a good way of chilling out, its a good bit of therapy, fresh air, long walks. Its also a bit like those unboxing videos you see on youtube because even though you have an idea of what's buried below your feel you're never really sure. I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. Subscribe to continue watching and see where this adventure leads me next.

Found so much gold with the nox , in the last month 6 gold rings, plenty of silver , however I snorkel with the nox right next to the shore where people get into the sea , about half a metre depth and use my hands to dig

Yep I started griding the area of the beach used for donkey rides this year and on the first day I had £9 in an area the site of a tennis court. Definitely the way to go. Great vid as always dude.

Also when you pickup a signal you might want to check it out from different directions to see where you get the best signal. Just remember where you were in the grid you were searching.

Good info mate BEACH IS KING most important is dig everything and study your beach take notes of water levels and watch the low sand movements basically you need to live on the beach take all the aluminium & pull tabs off so you don’t find them next time……THE FIGER 8 grid is a game changer GL&HH💙🏖🇬🇷💪

Good stuff mate. I've only done a few beach hunts as you know. I've tried random patterns and grids and found more success with grids too.

I do reverse grinding and reverse cross grinding to might take me a few more days.I try to dig high, medium ,low signals you do pick up signal you missed going one direction and might get a totally better signal.

Funny you should mention gridding, I mentioned it in a video I've not released yet. I always grid my smaller bays/beaches. Fields not so much only the hot spots. Paddocks and places that don't get ploughed definitely, grid them to the inch then I don't go back unless I get a different machine just to see if something the previous machine didn't find. Good video well worth trying

  • @philipedwardcaddick4294

Interesting technique , I'll try that out later on today on my first attempt at detecting and the broken ring that has the flanged and the grided section is as you thought where a jeweller would attach a solder on crown which is a sign of cheap jewelry

Gridding is the only way to go. Absolutely will improve your finds. When you leave you know you have found everything within the capabilities of your machine. Been doing it for 35 years.
    Well done.

@@SouthCoastDetecting its been good to me over the years. We do not have the history here in Florida that you have in your country. The Florida soil tends to swallow up the targets over the years. The beach is forever changing and giving up gifts but it gets old. Stay with your gridding. A disciplined gridding technique will completely change your metal detecting success.

  • @oldplucker1

👍I have a Nox, a Deus and a 400i. The Nox gets 10 times the finds on the beach that the Deus does. The 400i is noisy but gets good finds. I find the more I use the Nox the better I get at identifying signals. Same with the Deus. The 400i just dings with a number. The most pound coins I found with the Nox in one spill was 6.last year.

    • @robertwolfe2971

I find that when grinding and cross grinding it you still find more than you normally would find with the detector your using.but I agree the box finds more than some detectores. But keep trying with the detector you have till you find enough to buy that detectors you want a few good finds and you will have the money you need.

Bought the Nokta Makro Simplex+, so far so good, found a few things worth keeping. One of your earlier videos showed the settings for the beach, helped me a lot. 👍
