Glad to have my concerns proven wrong with the showcase yesterday. The game looks incredibly good! The character redesigns are a hit or miss and I'm really going to miss TJ Rotolo as Frank, but I think that this Remake will turn out pretty good. This is the last video I'm gonna be putting out on DRDR except for a possible review or something when it releases. Getting back to work now on the Dead Rising 3 video. Have a good one!

I think people forget, Carlito was NOT killed by Larry. He died from the gutshot bullet from Brad during their final fight. The point about dying amongst meat still stands, but Larry did not kill Carlito. Kidnapped him sure to grind him up, but Carlito's death was by Brad's hand not Larry's.
Carlito was bleeding out slowly from the gunshot but getting a hook on his back just left him at death's door
@@guilhermehank4938 The hook was around his feet. I’m certain that definitely sped up the process of bleeding out but it was still Brad that killed him ultimately, which makes his death all that more meaningful and not in vain. Brad was definitely the MVP in DR1.
I mean, it's just as (if not more) ironic that Carlito, an immigrant who hates American, was about to be killed by another immigrant but was saved by a born American.
That change had to have been Covid related.

If the new costumes are what I think, the mega buster and Zero + Z Sword may actually be the next endgame item and prob requires everything completed
Knowing how the z sword requires 5 days in infinity mode to aquire in the OG would take a decent chunk of the day to get regardless. If this is indeed a remastered and not remake. That sword did save me more times then Adam's chainsaws

There Is a Censure With Cliff and Larry, No Blood in those scenaries but maybe in Game yes
Considered that this remaster is also dubbed in Chinese, it is in their marketing business's best interest to alter out the... (questionable stereotype design?) Larry had in the original, consider how sensitive this modern mad age is. Any kind of small things that could be twist as racism is something Capcom doesn't want to risk happening.
That being said, is Larry Chiang's old design stereotype and racist? Personally, being a Taiwanese, I don't feel that malicious design intend.
I'm more leaning toward the intentional disgusting aspect because how greases and obese Larry looked, especially when you're made to look at him in the face, and I'm fairly certain that was the both the art director and script director's intention for the whole encounter and aftermath. The whole room with those processed meat was a set up for Carlito's speech to compare consumerism to zombies.

Everyone’s talking about the voice but my biggest concern is the camera. It’s definitely too close to Frank and needs to be zoomed out more like the original. At least give us the ability to change it hopefully
The new lighting is so blinding and hazey at times. The original was perfect

When it comes to remasters, personally I love it when they take the OG, and ask “what if this was made today?”
Mafia 1 answered this question with outstanding results. Breathing new life in a 2 decade old game.
They added new areas, I loved it.
I hope they do that, I’d love to see some new parts of the mall, or the town.
Personally I wish they’d would have taken some elements from DR2 like crafting to really reinstate the core ideas of dead rising, not just a beautiful remake.
But, it’s okay.
I’m sure with this level of detail and ATTENTION this will sell fine to fans and newer users alike. Can’t wait to get my hands on this.
Since the game is a deluxe remaster, we already know they altered some areas. They may not do much to alter the level design but I think the North Plaza might have a couple new stores or layout

That fast forward option will come in handy during overtime mode. I don't know if you remember, but during overtime mode there's a lot of waiting around for the next mission to start and I remember there's not much else to do except for wait around so I was kind of just standing there. Even after you have to do the fetch quest to get all the items for the prezombrex, if you get it done fast enough you still have to wait around even more.
Yeah, plus waiting until midnight for isabella to come to frank in North plaza in the abandoned store area. Hopefully it's handy for unlockables, and they stay in this one like Arthur's briefs and the laser sword

My biggest concern is how long the corpse are gonna stay and how they will disappear cause re engine has problems with a Huge amount of zombies on screen
They have been reworking the engine for a while to REX engine I think it's called. So maybe some of those improvements will be in this. Honestly they probably started the engine changes for this and the new Resi since this game will have a ton on screen at once.
The og voice actor was asked about him in the remake and he said he was wasn't called for it

I will say them recasting the voice actors is pretty par for the course. They tend to do that all the time unfortunately but tj is just so darn iconic as frank.

I would be so sad to not hear any of Hostile Groove's songs. DR1 had one of the best gaming soundtracks in my opinion.
It would be cool though if the Sniper Family had there own battle theme in this upcoming deluxe remaster in the original dead rising its just the generic mall music playing in chop till u drop they had an unused theme thats not in the xbox 360 or remaster ports
My only gripe is why does Frank and Isabella’s hair look so gray in the entrance plaza. I mean it might be the lighting and only in the one scene but it’s bugging me. Other than that I’m impressed with everything.
Your analysis on Larry’s design was pretty interesting and I like both of his designs from what little we’ve seen but his old design kinda has some story to it too depending on how you look at it
Considering Larry is either Chinese or Taiwanese and the only other non-white psychopath in the original game besides Carlito his story could provide 2 different contexts which I’m gonna get very head canon-y.
1: He’s an immigrant who adopted the American way of life and serves its people with obsession. In Carlito’s eyes he’s a traitor and a sellout who should be on his side considering the US coulda conducted their experiments anywhere including Larry’s original home and America has corrupted him to the point he represents everything Carlito hates about America but in the body of a foreigner which would arguably be even worse in his eyes as America’s ideals are polluting people that aren’t even originally from there
2: He was born in America and in Carlito’s eyes aside from appearance has been completely neutered of his culture to the point of being indistinguishable from the average American including their obsession for greed and consumerism (which is also ironic considering Nick, Diego and probably the other orphans he infected considered him a terrorist and were raised as Americans)

Frank looks to old in this hes supposed to be 36 here he looks like hes in his late 40s one good thing i can say is that they added stairs on the rooftop which makes getting survivors into the security room alot easier

some beta stuff has also been restored for example police zombies being able to shoot with a pistol and a lot of scrapped zombie designs also frank's model looks like a mix of beta Frank and his design in dead rising 2 off the record
I think Larry is still Chinese they just made his eyes less squinty and gave him a mustache and glasses and a hat. I would of preferred they would of been a more faithful to the original I don’t see it as a caricatures I see him as a Chinese/Taiwanese immigrant butcher who kinda had a broken English accent. What's funny is that after not playing this game since 2007 I recently started playing this again randomly about 3 weeks ago and thought about how awesome a remaster would be. Then literally the next morning I wake up to the announcement on my recommendations. Lol

Its all good modders will work it back in either thru DR1 or AI to recreate the lines like RE4 n the Ada Wong mod, it was so good, n Wesker

Adam the clown looks great that’s for sure. He’s the definition of why people hate clowns. Larry change catch me off guard because he was part of the reason why an important character die in the end of game. His original character design in my opinion was one of the scariest characters in the game so the fear factor from him kind got debunked but we will see when the game comes out.
I'm more curious how will look like the true eyes cult and the special force ops remaster skin specially how the special ops uniform will look like when you unlock it through achievement and how look the skin of the raincoat and the green mask of the cult member and how sean the cult leader will look like with his greatsword. and final but more importantly how they will remaster brock the leader of the special force ops how he will look like and how they will remaster the fight area with him.
I feel the "This is my store" scene got a VA downdrade.

Jokes aside, this looks good and DR is unique because of its gameplay so its great they preserve that. Just hope they do go all the way presentation wise. Cutscene to gameplay transitions? Was the OG one seamless map? I dont think so afaik there were loading times. Id like those things to be added and more ideally.
Okay, yes their are cons to the new remaster like Franks voice and a paywall for the OG frank, but that shouldn’t stop the pre orders imo. The game looks fantastic and I love how they left the old mechanics and add some quality of life improvements. Remember, if this is supported and hopefully does well we just might see a Dino crisis remake! I absolutely loved those game growing up.

I was also quite skeptical with the teaser they gave us. I do like some of the changes myself. Now we can move while aiming guns and the stairs at the air duct. I think they might even give full in game voice lines for Frank and the survivors you interact with. I'm also thinking they made Frank's new design the way it is so people will pre order the game just for the original model. Though a few things I'm not a fan of are stuff like the health bars for melee weapons. The HUD and UI look bland imo they have the functionality of the original but aren't as nice to look at. Now we have a compass with distance markers instead of the arrow comes off as a bit too hand holdy too me. Character redesigns are mostly good Isabella's is my favorite she looks very much like the some of the original concept art now. Jessie looks ok her nose, jaw and mouth are a bit off imo. I never understood the issue with larry being offensive so it was a bit of a shock seing him completely changed. I'm also wondering does anyone else think the lighting is a bit much the shadows look a bit too dark and the lights sometimes look too blinding and hazey. Some of this might've been a bit nit pickey I just have a huge love for this franchise especially the first game and I'm hoping Capcom can fully bring it back to its former glory.
If you have a huge love you should be mad Capcom is purposefully changing faces and the original design to fit DEI standards
@@MrSolidsnake293 I love Dead Rising but I don't like Capcom. They are a scummy company and the video game industry is full of companies just like them. I don't buy new games anymore the only games I really ever play are roughly 10 years or older. Only reason I care at all is this is the first thing involving Dead Rising in 8 years and it's a remaster of the original and yes it does upset me to see characters having changes made to them. This is looking to be miles better than Dead Rising 4 and less obnoxious. I just want Capcom to realize people still care about Dead Rising it was proven before if you give us a bad product we wont buy it like what happened with Dead Rising 4. Sadly buying this is a double edged sword If people buy it Capcom realizes Dead Rising is still popular and potentially continue the franchise but They will feel comfortable with making changes to beloved characters appearances and making downgrades. If people don't buy it Dead Rising may not return for an even longer time than the 8 years we waited for this if it were to ever return.

Kinda makes me wonder what older Frank will look like in the second Dead Rising if they ever get to that XD I hope with the amount of added zombie content from the betas, that the Capcom devs know that the current release of DR2 straight up is missing two substantial story dlcs.
People should realize they are basing this frank off of his DR4 and DR2OTR design. He doesn't look older, he just looks accurate to his later games.
If they let us bring our character from the dead rising re-release in 2017ish... that would be awesome

This looks absolutely incredible. As someone who started with Dead Rising 2 and then Off the Record, I found that I wasn't particularly interested in going back to DR1 because of the lack of QoL improvements the second game made. So despite DR2 being one of my favorite games of that era, it is the only mainline DR game I've played (I didn't own an XB1 to play DR3 and DR4 is, well, garbage). This will give me an excellent opportunity to go back and experience the original.
Also, I have high hopes that we get this treatment for DR2. I will absolutely love Capcom forever if they do.

Brad was the one who killed Carlito, not the Butcher. He shot him in the stomach and, after Frank saved Carlito from the Butcher, he succumbed to his wound.
