This is unrelated but related to fans . I used to work in a paper mill and we had a huge hood over the dryer cans that were steam heated , and in those hoods there were several exhaust fans , we had to replace the hood and fans mostly cause the panels in the old hood had asbestos in them . Well when they put in the new aluminum hood and ductwork and fans . The new fans were more powerful and at the wet end of the paper machine there was an old draw bridge between two buildings that was left in place to get to the other building and there were heavy plastic swinging doors for the fork trucks to go through . Well we soon learned to hold on to our hats or else they would get sucked off our heads when the doors opened to cross the bridge and if you had a coffee in one hand you had to cover it with the other hand or it would get sucked out of the cup . Just thought I would add that when I saw the comment on your fans

JudithB I bought a small venisian blind and cut them into plant markers. 100s of marker for almost nothing and they dont rot or break. I put a point on one end, but drill a hole in the one end if I want to hang them in the trees. A note on your Heritage raspberry: We grow these up north in ND because they fruit on new AND old canes. That means you can cut them down at the end of the season and let the snow pile up to protect them from our harsh winter and still be guaranteed a gangbuster crop of raspberries come summer....without messing around with trellises or managing the canes. This variety is zero work if you treat it as cut and come again (in a cold climate anyway - don’t know about the Deep South).

Y'all ever clone with cuttings? I mean if you got a tree with tasty fruit then you can take a cutting and basically at the right time of the year just stick it in the ground and soon enough you'll have another fruit tree with the same tasty fruit. Also, what are your thoughts on growing hybrid poplar for feeding goats and cattle? In New Zealand I know they love using it during the droughts.
I have that same lemon tree in the ground and although it got tore up by the freeze, it survived. My orange and grapefruit didn't make it I don't think but the other stuff seems to have bounced back. My pear tree's gotta be the hardiest trees I've ever seen.
