The whale Represent BTS at the beginning, “we are only seven” because they’re was lonely (whale 52 is a lonely whale, the other animals can’t hear your sound) and the whale explode in billions lights (the lights is the armys) “we are not seven, with you” = with army, BTS is more than seven

- it then turning into the wall of their old dance practice studio and Joon wearing his Boy With Luv outfit confronting his debut days self in a "Reflection"
- Jungkook walking down the street of the No More Dream MV in their debut stage outfit
- him turning into Tae walking into the We Are Bulletproof pt 2 MV and the glasses being sh0t or punched off is actually his part in the No More Dream choreo
- it then turns into Hobi who walks into the N.O MV
- it then turns into Jin walking down an empty hallway in the Boy In Luv MV
- which then turns into the set of Danger with Jimin walking in his We Are Bulletproof pt 2 outfit
- the thorny monster arms, shattering glass, everything falling to pieces and the "black ocean" (fandoms joined forces to not have their lightsticks on during an award show to show their disliking of BTS) are all the hate, antis, defamation and other things they have faced
- Namjoon falling into a big dark ocean hit me especially hard, cuz he was a very (I don't wanna say depressed but he literally has a therapist and I think all the hate did cause him mental pain) sad person for a while. It shows a lot in his fashion back then (all black), his studio set up (all black), his earnest demeanor and his first mixtape (and also his 2nd where he finally let go)
- the shattered shards chasing Yoongi in his I Need U outfit also hits hard, cuz around that era, when they first won on a music show the hate got really bad (when they were accused of copying other groups and bulk buying albums etc. cuz they won first place)
- the small amount of purple lights who help Joon resurface of course being the veteran Army who stood by them when they had no one else (most peers/idols looked down on them, so did their fans and especially the industry and companies)
- them standing up and the cherry blossoms signifying the Most Beautiful Moment era (that really meant a lot to us and them) really hit me, especially when it turned into Joon walking towards "us" in the Young Forever MV set with the other 6 😭
- they then all run through the I Need U, Run, Blood Sweat and Tears and Not Today MVs in their Run/Fire era hairstyles but debut outfits signifying that they stayed the same humble guys
- they run towards the Spring Day MV tree and sit in a bonfire circle from the I Need U MV but they're wearing their Wings Tour Final concert outfits
- and here is where it gets really painful ✋😭:
- the whale is a reference to the song Whalien 52 which is a whale no one can hear in the ocean so he is alone, but he carries the boys into heaven aka the stage and Army (the purple glowy things) are their galaxy
- the Army galaxy turns into the shape of a concert hall/stadium that resembles Wembley and the way they're standing away from each other on stage suggests it's the "Born Singer" performance
- they then stand together on stage, Hobi holding a MAMA award and all of them crying: it's a combination of their ending speech from the Wings Final concert that was very very heartfelt (Joon's "lessen your pain from 99 to 98 etc." being quoted a lot from that day) AND the 2018 MAMA speech when Hobi cried and they confessed they almost disbanded
- the stage extending to the Army logo which then turns into the Bangtan logo meaning we're one and they have us and we have them ("we are not 7 with you")
- it ending with cherry blossom petals and Boy With Luv outfits meaning they're happy now and some people said it stopped there cuz they didn't have the chance to be with us during the Map of the Soul 7 era yet and cuz BWL was a very happy time for them (many awards won, lots of achievements, the guys being a lot more happy and content with themselves)
Overall a very very heartfelt MV and it made me cry cuz I witnessed it all over the past 7 years and them dropping it on the day their first MV debuted and people ridiculed them for their style etc really hit different
Update: something I read on twitter that rings very true - they take a rest in the Spring Day MV cuz they thought this era was their limit only to be picked up by the whale/us and brought to even higher highs and the biggest stage

Also jungkook walking through the streets of the no more dream mv while wearing that shirt with "for sale" could mean that he went straight for bighit and declined all other offers bc you're seeing papers flying around. the MV started with RM (yes that's RM!) in their old practice room at bighit's old building (you can the 'checkered' wall and wooden floor). 1:47 he's looking into the mirror to his old self. my thought on this, he's the first member of BTS, and he's the one that will start the journey back in time for this video.
the MV showcases them running through their old sets and honestly that was so emotionally beautiful! 1:52 first scene is jungkook in No More Dream set (their debut song).
2:42 is V in his No More Dream glasses and fit. 3:03 uhh that iconic glasses yeet (armys you get this right?!). and I might be wrong but the 'for sale' on their shirts may indicate their old days struggling financially.

5:12 a black wave threatened to engulf Jungkook's face, could be a reference to 'black oceans'. black ocean is when fans at a show turn off their lightsticks and stay silent during a particular artist’s performance. BTS has faced this in the past. they’ve also encouraged armys to cheer for all artists. again the red and black symbolism I mentioned earlier.
5:19 J-hope runs away from the red force, only to be met with the police officers in N.O. MV. he’s then trapped in a box. red and boxes were also used in the MV to symbolize “the system”. This could refer to the glass ceilings and the feeling of the tremendous pressure that BTS faced.
6:08 we go back to RM and Suga’s scenes. they both have been open about their mental health issues, especially regarding the early years of their career. these scenes symbolize their pain, the glasses cut them, drowned them. 6:13 Suga could be clutching his bad shoulder here.
7:08 this is the first scene we see the “purple lights”. they appeared next to 2013 RM, which could mean they wanted to thank us for being with them from the start. RM rose to the surface because he wanted to reach out to the lights created his fans (the word 'purple' has a special meaning between BTS and army).
7:13 RM found his footing, standing on water, the background light up purple with their name (which has been ridiculed in the past, especially around debut) proudly displayed. we cut to Suga with flowers around him (referencing the last scene), he smiles when he touched the petal.

9:30 next is a scene where they gather around the fire. there’s a tree on the upper right so I assume this is under the Spring Day tree? could also be a reference to one of the most common scenes from HYYH era: them sitting around a fire.
9:45 a small purple 'firefly' approach them. JK touched the light and it eploded into a small galaxy of purple lights.
9:56 now we’re introduced to the lonely whale, who’s made from the purple lights. I know what you are trying to tell about the meaning behind the whale. but in this video, I believe it's about a whale from Whalien 52, the loneliest whale in the world, has the most unique frequency (52Hz) that no other whale could hear them. I guess the whale is not lonely anymore in this video. the whale, represents ARMY. in a sense armys were all lonely whales trying to find others until BTS found us and brought us together.

Ok so basically they were going through all their previous music videos from debut up until the boy with luv era which it ended on. And yes, that was RM in the beginning! The whale represents one of their songs called "Whalien 52" , but you can interpret it any way you want. And the first door was the ARMY sign, then they switched it to the BTS logo, which is a door that opens up into the concept photos from Boy With Luv era . 😭

This was done so beautifully the transitions from their old videos till boy with luv & those stadiums filled with Armies gooooosssshh can't get over it yet
I will explain the message of this mv. First, of all June 13th is their debut anniversary (debut = official group debut in the kpop industry), so this BTS Festa means a group celebration ceremony, they are 7 years old. Second, the whole mv goes through almost all the mv's, that is, in the first scene is Namjoon (RM) of 2020, and the debut namjoon (group debut song: No More Dream), in the second scene is jungkook in No More Dream, in the third is taehyung in We Are Bulletprood pt. 2, and so on, until more towards the middle they meet in the Run mv, that they are running, and in the end it shows those purple dots that means us, Armys, BTS fans, and in the part that appears several of these purple dots, soon afterwards several Army's are formed in a stadium and bts on stage. It is yet another message of gratitude to us Army's around the world.

It really show the journey of bangtan from nothing to legends and ofc it is all because ARMY fight and fly with them. I think you should watch lyric videos of the songs first before you watch the official videos (even if you watch the lyric videos off camera) OR just google the members as you're watching until you get to know them all well enough. The lyric videos highlight who is singing/rapping during each person's part.
He should just google BTS photo with names and stare at it for an hour to get their names right and then just like you said watch lyric videos. I don't understand these reactors who watch BTS daily and seem very engaged but still can't get them right. They look very different and their voices are unique too.

When their running their running all of their songs/mvs because all of their hard work to reach at the top and i heard them saying "its hard to reach at the top but armys pushing us all the way up" and then i started to remember their hardships and all of their hard working i feel like im helping them like were helping them because armys making bts's dreams come true and their so proud of us and were so proud of them too!

Also, I don't know if you noticed when you paused talking about the stars. The purple stars represent ARMY as well. The purple ocean, that scene is like them looking at us, like at their concerts. You should also look up pictures from there, it's really beautiful. 'BTS concerts'.
In this MV, the scenes were drawn from their other music videos. Like the seven chairs, that was from blood sweat and tears MV and them running on the road and destroying cars was from RUN MV. The subway scene was from the Danger MV. If you have seen all of them then you would be able to recognize them in here! This song is very touching to all of us Army because they literally are telling us even though we started as 7, we are not 7 anymore since we are here with them.
