Hi Ben, I have been in the rc hobby now 55 years, and the last 12 flying quads, I see this all the time. People purchasing a new avata and expecting it to fly like a freestyle quad. It's not a fpv freestyle quad. it's a camera drone. Same as the Geprc cinelog. it's a good camera drone, but it's still not a freestyle quad, but you can do a couple of tricks, Betaflight is difficult to get going, but im sure you will pick it up quickly. For me, it's freestyle forever, DJIfor me was boring. Elrs is a great system, your goong to love the fpv hobby. Just make sure to watch Joshua Bardwell to learn Betaflight. He has some great videos on Betaflight. But just remember, if it has whoops, it's meant to fly smooth and level. is meant for insane flying. Have fun. And Welcome to FPV
Hiya John, thanks for reaching out, much appreciated. I started flying drones about 9 years ago. I never went into flying FPVs with the intent to fly freestyle and I still don't really. I'm a videographer by trade so it's another tool for the arsenal. Joshua Bardwell is where it's at and ive binged watched his Betaflight videos since I made this video lol. I originally bought the Avata because it has a lot of safety features and the range and battery life is too good not to try. I will definitely be taking the leap to a 5 inch and then a long range 7/8 inch too in the future. The purpose of the GepRC is to delve into the next step of FPV. 🙂 always having fun.
I have a cinewhoop as well, now I have the DarwinFPV cineape35, previously had the Avata and I find the cineape35, I have crashed a few times, and surprising it doesn't do much damage as I would with the Avata, as frame is all carbon fibre. Only problem I have with my Cineape is that the O3 antennae where it is mounted at back it stick up and when you do crash it breaks. I have to look for a another antennae so it mounted another way so it doesn't break when crashed.
Also, once you get it in betaflight make sure you backup the settings from factory so you have a backup of all the profiles. Just go to the CLi in betaflight and type either dump or diff all and click the save button to save the configuration.
@@aerialworxwithspikee hey man, thanks for reaching out, my O3 antenna wire popped out too, the wire is a little too short in my opinion. I did look into the Darwin FPV lineup too, they look great. I’ve saved a configuration already 🙌🏻 I’d like to change to change a couple of characteristics at some point
Biggest tip... its not an avata , its not delicate... just dont worry about crashing or scratching it. Just get out there and push ur self. U will crash, it will look used. I always tried to keep them looking new, but now just send them. Youll have way more fun
@@FPV-TV419 haha that’s mate, the irony in this statement is I’ve already broke the props and it’s was more delicate than the Avata 😂 however, I will be sending it for sure when I get a chance, I will still be flying the Avata for sure and saving this one for tight and crowded spaces 💪🏽
Need to put manual focus on your main camera. The auto focus keeps going out of focus.
@@andyg6401 ahhhh I know Andy, it was a pain in the ass 😂 it’s usually alright to be honest…..because I was at 1.4 I’d never have been able to prefocus on my own without loosing my patience 😂
Nice one!
Out of curiosity what made you go for the Cinelog 25v2 over the CineBot 25? (Was it simply that the Cinelog has gps?)
Cheers
@@lecolintube I specifically chose to add the GPS option while buying….i can’t remember 100% at the time.
I think it was to do with the weight, the Cinelog is much lighter if I remember rightly, also because it’s more of a traditional looking frame and I wanted to go to use this as the gateway to custom FPVs etc
Just pulled the trigger on a MARK 5, BOXER Crush in "BallSack" yellow and some other bits. ExpressLRS tooled up with it, too. Can't wait for that, bruv!
@@BallSackFPV ahhh man, that’s awesome 🤗 should be sweet 💪🏽
@@BBDigitalArts Should be some good crashes with that, bruv lol
I hope the Cinelog 25 v2 is better than the first one. I bought one before I bought an avata and found it to be seriously underpowered with anything other than a runcam thumb. I've not used mine in over a year. Bought an Iflight protek 35 - far more power and can carry a Go pro without issue
Ahh man, that sounds rubbish!! This seems to have a lot of power, I wana fly in doors anyway so don’t need the power
Cool 😎, 1yr to 18mths 😅🤭, bet you're building your own in a month or two. 😁😂
I'm looking at either a Pavo20 or similar to go with my Avata2. Why did you go for a new TX and not use the Dji controller. I'm not sure what to do myself? 🤔
@@nickpmtb5629 thanks a lot mate 💪🏽 I saw a couple of things while reading the web saying ELRS would be better for penetration, also if the DJI controller looses video feed it’ll cut all controls and I wanted a new TX I can fully customise 🤗
Where did you get it from mate? With the air unit already installed? I have the dji avata 2 and I’m looking at this drone too
@@RenzFPV hiya mate, I got it direct from GepRC, the O3 was already installed and pretty much ready to fly…apart from the initial setup
Although I did buy a separate ELRS Transmitter too instead of using the DJI Controller 2
Should of got the DJI mini 3 pro because brilliant videos from it and it will bind to your goggles and controller..Already done it with mine ..Avata 1 back in its box and IF I want to go near crowds I use as I said in the beginning 😜 Otherwise I use my Avata 2 for playing with and doing acrobatics etc. Again love watching your videos Ben 👍
@@petetazflies thanks a lot Pete, much appreciated, i have an Air 2 S and know that I wouldn’t use a mini unfortunately….plenty more adventures to come with this one 👌🏽
@BBDigitalArts reason I use the mini 3 pro it's sub 250grm and fantastic lens 👌🏻
@@BBDigitalArts enjoy your new cine whoop mate 👍 I look forward to following your adventures 😜👍
@@petetazflies thanks mate 🤗
Mark5 in an x-frame config. Freestyle orientated. This has no GPS so it won't be flying far but will get reasonable penetration due to the ELRS receiver onboard. So, if I crash, it'll be rewinding the goggles DVR before I crashed lol
