I worked for the late great track photographer Tibor Abahazy and i got to meet Luca and Frankie for the first time and i still have the photos from Barathea and Frankie jumping off in the winner's circle. Watching this brings back so many memories of great times in horse racing. Thank you for this🍻🍺🍺 😎🤙

Loved this. Great trainer and an absolute gentleman. Spent 3 weeks work experience at his yard as a school kid in 1995 (just missed Barathea unfortunately) and had the time of my life.

Good trainer but don’t mention him in the same breath as HRAC

His daughter Francesca doing her commentary job on ITV can be quite bitchy/passive aggressive in the negativity of her comments on Frankie, Irish Trainers especially Aidan O Brien, and Irish bred horses trained in Ireland for the Aga Khan - and I think she picked up those attitudes based on the residue of bitterness that must have been expressed at her fathers table. I don't really believe the "accidental" nature of the sachet of bute(!!) casually given " by accident" to a horse belonging to the Aga Khan - no wonder he took his horses away. I also don't believe the police just happened to find a sachet of cocaine on the person of Frankie just when he was about to split from Luca Cumani, which temporarily foiled his escape. Luca made it clear that he didn't know or care where any of his jockeys were earning a living in the off season. Purely utilitarian approach to horses and people.
