Originally recorded in 1995 on analog tape by our close friend Mistress Anastasia. She was the original "Vacuum Mistress" for which this channel is named. We can't give details about the things she did with her uprights, as it would get us in trouble with YT.
There is a "romantic element" occurring in these recordings, between Ms. Ana, her vacuums and her supplicants, which will have to remain unsaid. She was fond of capturing these special vacuuming sessions on analog tape, and a small label, Dissolute Harmonies, released them on cassette in very short runs throughout the 90s. "Pamper" was the third Vacuum Mistress tape and it's been on and off YT a few times over the years.
Ms. Ana is far removed from this scene these days, but she was happy to let us dig through her audio tape archive of her very special vacuums (and her vacuuming "technique") for your enjoyment.

My Mother and Aunt both had a blue and white Hoover Senior like the one in the video. I seemed to be surrounded by them as a child, and if my Mum or Aunt weren’t using one, my older Sister was. I was scared of the Hoover Senior. Apart from the fact it looked menacing with that headlight on and bag inflated, that grumbling roar seemed to fill the room. It didn’t help that my small plastic toy soldiers would be regularly hoovered up if I left them on the floor where I would play with them all the time. I would get one warning, and then it would be a race as to whether I got to them first or the hoover did. If the hoover won I could only watch them disappear up the machine, a slight rattle just audible above the roar as the fan ripped them apart. If I was playing with my toy soldiers and my sister was in a spiteful mood, she would sometimes ambush me with the hoover, and although I would try and gather them up, I usually lost most of them and retreated to her smirking face.
On another occasion, I was in the living room and Mum came in and started spraying fly killer at all flies that were buzzing around the windows. I was ordered out of the room, and she shut the door behind us. About ten minutes later I saw her going back into the living room carrying the Hoover Senior. I remember the feeling in my stomach, and terrified, went into the living room, the lavender scent of the fly spray still hanging in the air. I could see flies scattered across the carpet, some dead and others alive, buzzing furiously as they spun round and round on their backs. As my Mum switched the hoover on, the roar drowned out the pitiful buzzing, and with her usual ruthless indifference, she hoovered the whole carpet, and dust, dirt and flies were all fair game. As a young child I was horrified, and when the carpet was spotless and the hoover was switched off, trembling I said, “Mum some of the flies were still alive”. Her reply was blunt. “Well, they’re not now are they”.
This had a tremendous effect on me as a young child, and your videos bring it all back, they’re so well made.

you have to watch out for those old Hoovers! it's good that your mum and your sis fed it your toys regularly, or who knows what might've happened. that grumbling snarl is the sound of a vacuum cleaner hungering to suck you up, so beware! 👹 😍

Absolutely love the up-close aspect and, maybe as a result, the bass and rumble. Great old vacs too! I would love to see more dark room with vac headlights. Brilliant work!

I'll tell you another thing I hated as child was when my Mum would sometimes hoover when I'd gone to bed. If I was still awake, I could hear the roar of the hoover downstairs, but couldn't see what was being hoovered up. Not that I ever had any control over what Mum hoovered up anyway, but in bed it was like I had less control. It's hard to explain. Or if Mum was hoovering upstairs and I was downstairs, the roar seemed more menacing and intense, sending shivers down my back.
At Christmas, we had a real tree and back then they really dropped their needles. I remember watching countless times as Mum hoovered up the Christmas tree needles, and they rattled their way the hoover with terrifying ease. Or the carpet would be covered in them when I left the house, and when I returned they had gone, the hoover lines in the carpet the only evidence of their fate.
One year when we were taking the decorations down and the tree out, there was stuff all over the carpet. Christmas tree needles, lametta tinsell, angel hair, and even a couple of small baubles that had been crushed into the carpet. I remember mum saying "Make sure you've picked up anything you want as the rest of Christmas is going up the hoover". And she wasn't joking. The roar and clatter of her hoover senior googling that lot up had me standing with my hands over my ears beginning to wonder if there was anything it couldn't tackle. I remember the smell of warm dust and pine needles.
These great videos remind me of my childhood days and my Mum's voracious hoovering.
