The guys at Walrus have ears of gold, love their stuff. The SLÖ reverb is my always on-pedal.
Pete going with the Mac Demarco look today I see
Nah my friend...that’s Mac Demarco sporting the Pete Honore look! Ahahaha Although, as I look in the mirror I’m starting to think he might be stealing my vibe?
Very lovely purple guitar! Glad to see Pete bring it out again.
Love the humility at the beginning Pete! That was an epic save with that bend, pretty masterful stuff!
Appreciate the new pedal highlighting by the editor!
Really cool pedals! And Pete shines as usual!
I tell you what. Anderson's Music Co's guitar channel is always entertaining. One of my favorite T.V. or any other streaming channels I could choose from. Your quality, editing, and all that has gotten so freaking good. Great production quality gentlemen.
Love the G&L guitar...feels like a Friday already
I watch Anderton's like most people watch their favorite sitcoms. These guys should get paid like TV stars. They're more entertaining than most paid programming and the content is [actually] valid.
You know you’re winning at life when you dress the way Pete is here and you still look cool
In the modern world we can dress how we like! We I grew up we all had uniforms for the different ages. I should have loafers, tan khakis and a blue Oxford. But, I’m more likely dressed like Pete by happenstance. Megladon is a shark I think Mr Pete?
Pete's G&L looks insanely awesome...
oh snaps, sick G&L!
The real beauty of the ACS1 is using to run either stereo or wet/dry, with L and R or Wet and Dry going through two different amp/cab sims. Can't do that with an iridium...
Like the sound of that G&L as well
I still miss those 2019 funny edits, bring them back pls :D
I think Andertons should do a follow-up video on how you go about using midi pedals as I doubt the majority of guitarists have that much knowledge on how to do so.
Check out that pedal show. they've done some stuff on MIDI. The trouble is every pedal is going to work a little differently with how they implement MIDI
Walrus audio and such.....also pete dressed as a tween waiting for a hot pretzel at the mall realizing his mum showed up early
The star piece of kit for me was the guitar! Doesn’t sound like a Fender or a Gibson and doesn’t try! Killer tone 🔥 🔥🔥
Nice "Ten Years Gone"-like intro Danish Pete!
Feels like a spring in a big room
I can watch 1000 videos of pete and I will come back for more...
Capn is always trying to rush DP through the demo but... Pete has things to say....
That was hilarious when Pete said out of the box it probably has trails, click, nope 😂🤣😀
omg i love this guitar !!!!
This make the perfect rig for worship genre stuff
that guitar is gorgeous
Good to see the espada out.😬
Great vid! Where did you buy the decibel meter? I just got one online - but its going BACK !!!
When are they coming out with the R2(&)D2?
That Espada . . . wow
We all caught it!
That opening jam! I'm sold...
The Queen song was Brighton Rock .. killer tune
BFR - Bl00dy fine reverb!
An idea for a challenge - a modification of an earlier one given there's way more stuff out now - the amp-less pedalboard - who can come up with the best sounding pedalboard without an amp and no multi-effect units....Chappers, the Captain, Danish Pete or Rabea the 'Fro? And maybe let the viewers decide with a poll and results to be revealed in a follow up video?
Could you please explain the actual setup I’m hearing.
Are we hearing speaker cabs and amps or just thru a PA System?
No amps?
Learning Scales pays off. M1 I'm interested in.
I want to see the Captain and Pete jamming again...
If there were a walrus in the room right now, he would be saying "I has a bucket!"
You could’ve changed the decay level on the reverb. It was left at 3 o’clock the whole time from what I could tell
The room reverb is meant more to make the “amp” to sound like its in an actual room, not so much a traditional room reverb.
Just look it up if this doesn’t make sense 😆
that G&L tho! is beatiful, I'm from Peru. Im applying to Oxford next week so i might be moving to UK soon. The very first thing will be head to Anderton to get some gear. And you better be there to sign it! (captain or danish pete) lol
If I put Delay and Reverb AFTER the ACS1, would that be the same is if they were going into the FX Loop of an amp?
It'd be like adding them at the desk (or DAW - in post) after a recording session or whatever the kids call it these days. "In post" is close enough. Like adding them after a fully mic'd guitar tone
I do it with my IR and it sounds ace with a stereo delay & reverb going to FRFR speakers.
I thought the attack knob on the D1 had such potential when I first heard about it, but when I had one I would always put it to 0 and leave it there. Hopefully they make an updated version that also has the USB-input for firmware updates, so that they can tweak this further in the future. Brilliant idea, but I think the execution needs work
I think there's probably a use case for it that you're not considering. My guess is attack isn't going to get you somewhere you want to be as a "color" on a traditional delay sound. But if you want to push the D1 into mega ambient territory, combining crazy long feedback delay with bit crush+ maxing out attack will turn the delay into more of a non rhythmic ambient "wash" underneath your dry sound. I heard another demo where they really took advantage of attack.
Big Field Reverb. Blast Forge Reverb. Bottom Feeder Reverb. Beer Foam Reverb. Bass Face Reverb. Bean Fart Reverb. Could be anything
33:45 Serious Queen vibes. Brighton Rock vibes, Captain.
This is very interesting but all I have ever used in 20+ years is a Boss SD-1 into whatever is available maybe a reverb pedal if the amp does not have it built in.
Pete was thinking about megalodon. Also a song by Mastodon, which can get confusing.
Pete please sign my purple mischief maker from few episodes before, I ordered it and already asked Jon if that's possible
Sounds purty boyz
That guitar sounds goooooood (well. Its Pete's playing but...)
A little tribute to Mick Ronson's version of Angel No.9 there at the beginning?
Mmm, stereo spread 🤤
Pete might not get that cameo with Attenborough after this one
“Fidelity”... of course!
BIG FLUFFY REVERB
Lee is a ghost. You can see right through his hand!
You'll have to load your own IRs to get close to the iridium. The iridium uses a higher quality IR also but it's really hard to hear as it's minimal at least to my ears. But does make a difference.
"higher quality IR"?
Wouldn't agree. And of course, IRs can be loaded as you choose. This is far more useable with dual amp function vs the iridium
@@slimigan iridium has 24 bit/96 khz 500 ms IRs. Walrus has 24bit/48 khz at 250 ms. So yes the iridiums are a higher quality.
The Captain meets Jack Thammarat please !!!
Bassman Fender Reverb....?
I would love to hear and see Danish Pete and "The Captain" review a PRS Hollowbody II Core Model with Piezo and also the new Fender Spark-O-Matic Fender.
Someone told me Danish Pete is from the Netherlands. I thought if you were Danish Pete you would be from Denmark.
I really enjoyed the sounds of the Walrus Pedals.
Where are you from Danish Pete? DANISH..... Pete... DANISH?? From the Netherlands??? Mhhhhh, really??... :-)
As Pete always says, "It ain't much if it ain't Dutch." The "Danish" of Danish Pete is in Honoré of his love of a certain pastry. His signature pedal, The Dane, is, of course, a barking mad reference to his dog. [ Gullability Disclaimer: Lies! All lies! ]
@@andertons If the Danish comes from a Pastry, I should be called JellyRoll Brown instead of OleFatKevin . From the famous Song... "Olefatkevin, bamba lamba damba. Fatkevin had a child. The things gone wild... and so on.
@@TraneFrancks If the Danish comes from a Pastry, I should be called JellyRoll Brown instead of OleFatKevin . From the famous Song... "Olefatkevin, bamba lamba damba. Fatkevin had a child. The things gone wild... and so on.
@@donkevinbrown9906 The real question is: Does JellyRoll Brown play a Dobro or an ES-350T?
nice monty python reference:)
Interesting that 3 of the pedals have side-mount jacks and one has top-mount. Wonder why.
@@slimigan hopefully we will get a Mako O1 at some point, I’d go for MIDI controlled Walrus overdrive/distortion/fuzz
It really depends on what sounds you are chasing. The R1 and D1 are more of a challenge to Strymon. I do prefer the naturalness of the UA pedals. The ambient nature of overly digital effect type pedals, to my ear, tend to over-ride the sound of your guitar and amp. Much cheaper to get a midi keyboard than spend big bucks on a high end guitar and tube amp and then use these type of pedals and wipe their signature sound.
ACS1 vs Iridium vs Simplifier vs HX Stomp. Worth a blindfold challenge if you can figure out how to make it fair
Iridium and stomp get pretty close. Iridium definitely has more of that “Amp” sound they’ve nailed it for sure.
The stomp is nice and has the built in effects also has the audio interface and of course a fx loop.
The ACS1 sounds good also I think that and iridium definitely have more of a head to head battle. Along with the simplifier. Also believe it has a fx loop? I think. I have the stomp but if I had a good interface to use with the iridium my guns would be with the iridium
It’s weird, I don’t get that much gain from acs1. I wonder if it’s because I plug into audio interface without di-box.
It is a well known characteristic of this pedal to have less gain let's say compare to the Iridium. Apparently there is a new firmware from Walrus that improves this lack of gain.
@@JaEbala maybe it's the guitar pickups? My old strat doesn't drive pedals as hard as my other guitars
Little bit trivia. Mastodon was big furry elephant, the shark was megalodon.
I have a D1 which is amazing. I bough the R1 and hated it. Weird latency and just not a great reverb. Shame, as the delay is superb.
to-Day's Monty Andertons show is presented by Commander-in-chief el'Captain & Deli-shish Danish Purple Pickle Pete
:)
BFR = Big Fried Reverb?
So sad it's not the MIKU series...
I am the Walrus Kukukachu
What kind of g&l is that?
G&L Espada. It was a Leo-designed guitar from the late 60s that died in development until G&L brought it back. Check out Andertons’ vid m.czcams.com/video/YiBT_1C0lxc/video.html
In Pete’s words: What an amazing Christmas surprise that turned up just before I left on my Christmas holiday! A beautiful @glguitar s_custom_shop Royal Purple Espada with a matching headstock!! What an amazingly generous gift from two amazing people David and Johnny from @glguitars.... Guys, you are legends. It plays and sounds amazing! I absolutely LOVE it
I still prefer the Walrus ACS1 over the Strymon Iridium, UA Dream 65, and Boss IR-200. Best big cleans of all of them. All of the others have too much gain (and way more gain than the amps they emulate).
i must admit that the floor space of my "studio" is limited to 20 qm....so you must understand that there is a limit as to how many pedals i can use.....;-D
@@brymills i never thought of that...thanks.....that really leaves me stoked.... ;-)
Remember people walrus always puts hidden functions.... Press bypass and turn the X knob for secret parameters... BFR reverb gets MASSIVE and the R1 pedal... All about the presets its all there... Pick a preset and tweak it.....
Bacon Fried Ribs?
It’s only me or the number of ads during the last Anderson’s videos became unbearable?
squa go go squa go go
Here I stand Lee
I fear that "S-quack-ka-koo" will be repeated.
Welease Wodewick !! He's a wapist!!
I hate to say this, as someone who prefers to mic up a real cab, or at least use a tube amp and an Ox for recording, but the tones with the ACS1, direct, sound at least as good (maybe better?) than the usual - very trebly - Andertons video; at least as a comparison with a mic’d up cab (i.e. not compared to an amp in the room). And I’m using posh IEMs (Shure KSE 1200). I think it’s probably the extra bass....and I know that Pete’s years of touring probably push him towards tones that cut through a band mix, hence the usual very high end tones in the videos.
I have the Mako D1 delay and it’s a good competitor for the Keeley Eccos.
Pretty sure BFR is Big F*cking Reverb (Doom reference maybe?)
Biggus Dikkus
UA smokes this...
Trucker Pete
Pete is a terrific guitar player but the chemistry between him and Lee is so odd. He's all over the place. Still like them together, just a very different energy than the vids with Rob.
The biggest draw to me is there selection and size. I mean the fact that I can get all these sounds on my board and not take up the space of a three switch pedal is crazy.
Sounded like Woolworth. US chain of five and dime stores years and years ago.
Honest Pete's
F stands for my wallet after purchasing all four of those pedals
oh yes momie
Breaking News : Walrus will mix R1 and D1 to one R2D2........
Big fartin’ reverb
I thought this said ‘Miko’, I’m disappointed! 😔
Great pedals, but those enclosures...I think they might owe Chase Bliss some royalties.
Three from your feet, nine from your fingers, 128 via midi should be on a shirt.
Also, heads up, when you thought you were playing Spring, you were actually in whatever preset you had just previously scrolled through to. That's why you didn't hear any of that boingy drip!
Having the chain set up this way is the d1 putting out true stereo or split mono. I want to run a stereo rig and I have my last two pedal on my chain as the d1 and r1
