In Wild 5 you get paid regardless of winning or losing, it’s in the rules of the game and if you didn’t it’d clearly be written in the table above the payouts as it is in Ultimate Texas Hold Em’.

I think when you and your mom are using the same card in your hand like the 8 at 22:55 and you are using it to try to get a pair or two pair because of it (not if going for straight or better) you should discard it like the 8 in this hand. I think it gives you an approximately a 4% advantage in getting it to pair up. Just something for you to think about.
