A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ CZcams. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of CZcams I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on CZcams won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This CZcams channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

It’s not always about the tempo or the beat, it’s also about the lyrics or a story the song tells..

The trick with songs like this is to really listen to the details. There was a build-up, but it was very subtle. Listen to the role the strings play, listen to where the harmony comes in, subtle as it is. There is growth and variety, but within a smaller spectrum.
As someone else said, not everything is for everyone. But I think if you get away from the guitar and vocals, there is more going on here. It's just ... subtle. I think this is one of those things where, if you listen to more music like this, you may find yourself noticing those details more. But if it's a new style, this is probably not the best first song to listen to within that.
I enjoyed your reaction and your thoughts, though! Keep it up!

I fell in love with this song when they used to play it over the speakers in the grocery where I worked. It was a simple and beautiful song of love and touched my heart. But not all songs are for everybody, and having seen the songs you respond best to I'm not surprised you didn't really get into this one.

You're right, the melody was nice. When it used to play on the radio it was one of those that didn't completely make me remember it afterwards.

As of it, I really like your reactions, on this one I might explain a little about this song (and no: I'm neither young or a fan, I'm 48 and this is the only song from these guys I like). basically he's sending letters (or texts, whatever) to his loved Delilah, whom he haven't seen in ages, every verse is another letter, and he is obsessing about do well for her... you just paused in the most important part, the "this guitar will pay the bills", but in the end it's just him writing to his former crush, hoping and making promises, and telling her that she's still the one... But we all know it's separate paths already. It's an adolescent, silly song, but I think almost any man from High School can relate...

Sorry if I'm being a little verbose... National Holiday over here, a drink or ten too much, a little emotional and still here I'm watching your channel. Thank you.

I know this story. The Singer, In real life has a crush on a Long distance runner Delilah DiCrescenzo ( I think 800 meter @ Columbia U around 2007) anyway. He wrote the song and dedicated it her. She was flattered and that about she was. For they were two ships that passed in the night. Never to see each other again.

I listen to mostly 40s and 50s music and I can tell the difference so much in how songs were constructed than as opposed to now.
Have you ever heard of Rockabilly?

You should check out Leonard Cohen. Hallelujah is probably his most well known song (it holds a world record for bieng covered by the most recording artists , about 300 times) but I think his best song is Suzanne or what happens to the heart

If you want a slow song that picks up a bit, you need to check out "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who. Jason Mraz has some awesome stuff too. "Geek in the Pink" might be a good starting point. Also, another request for Rory Gallagher. He's not as well known but should be, in my opinion. "Moonchild", "Philby" or "Bad Penny" are good starting points.

As a guitarist/singer this is in my repertoire of song in the "panty dropper" category. Like Extreme "More than words" or Mr. Bigs "to be with you" (both are far better songs). At a party you pick up the guitar and play it for the girl you want to go home with. Works every time.

i'd like to suggest that you react to pachelbel's canon in d minor. seriously. i'll link the best version (at least in my opinion),and warn you that it's a bit of a slow burn, but if you'll listen until you get to the 2.00 minute mark -- well. you'll hear why i recommended it. czcams.com/video/FUZui0ojYCs/video.html
