We are using this with my 7 year old son this year. He really enjoys it. While it’s not as rigorous as some other curriculum we have used in the past I feel like he’s retaining more. The short lessons are absolutely perfect for a little boys attention span too. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we have!!

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re excited to use this course, I hope we enjoy it as much as y’all have as well. I feel like we’ve had a similar experience with all our MB subjects. Less rigorous maybe, but my children are much more engaged and actually learning/retaining the material! All the rigor is nothing if my kids are really retaining the knowledge. I’m glad to hear your son is enjoying it!!

Hi! I’ve decided to go with Masterbooks for Language Arts. I think LA is just one of those subjects that are best taught slowly. Since you have years of experience with it, how do you see your kids progressing in their LA skills?

I totally agree! I like to go slow with LA and build a firm foundation. My kids are progressing well. My oldest (going into fifth) is a strong reader and LOVES writing which is huge for us. A couple years ago, she dreaded writing a small sentence. She started with a rigorous program and switched to MB. My second oldest started with MB for language and is also a strong reader and her writing skills are developing well. It has worked well for our family and I will continue to use it!

Oregon and its been in the 50's. A little rain here and there, but mostly dry.
I wondered about using this when my daughter is in 1st grade, but if there is a Level 1 coming then that seems like what I might go with! Thanks for the info!

      Sounds like lovely fall weather!
I’m glad it was helpful! I plan to use level 1 for my future 1st graders too, when the time comes!

Oh my goodness! I’m jealous! We moved from California and I definitely miss our non-wintry winters!
