Don't get me wrong, that build is great especially with the Manamune in the end, it gave you like 100ad. But the ONLY reason you won is because of that ZIGGY 😅 They were full armour, melted them
As an avid Illaoi player.
Here are few tips for a better enjoyment.
While I understand it’s for the sake of the video.
When going Vs 3 tank.
Divine Sunderer is your friend. It combo and scale very well both in early all the way to late game.
E max into W. not Q
Q waste more mana and is overall lower damage. 30% of 100 damage is only 130. But 10% more damage from W can be an extra 300 damage if the enemy as 3000 HP.
In the case of combining with divine, you can kill anything , ANYTHING in 4-5 W click because of MAX health damage. That’s right not current like divine. Max health.
Don’t use W on the ghost(or soul whatever) it still only a % damage taken by the real champ. Also Slam will have tendencies to miss the real champ too.
Also be conservative with mana. It’s way better to lose a few minion than dying from gank.
Also Illaoi lovvveee getting ganked
Otherwise built what you want but I suggest Mercury for boots. Not using W in a big team dive is a no no.
PS You can use R in the W animation to gain a bit of range if you want to hit adc with R. W will proc.
As a big illaoi enjoyer i felt the need to kindly disagree on some pionts -
I dont think theres ever scenario where you wana max W second - the q dmg is as far as im aware 30% to all your tentacles not just Q on use, and in most scenarios your tantacles will be like 60% of your dmg or more+ its AOE
Rest is propably personal playstyle - i never build sunderer - for dmg i go for BK or shogin and gountlet is just better than sunderer - you get armor to go with your other health items, slow to guarantee pasive hits and ghoust grabs and you still have healing from pasive( and you get more of it bc of slow) and you get -10%dmg witch isnt much but it in some way multiplies your health and armor and if you think about it as +10%armor and 10%hp it doesnt looks so worthless
It's W then Q for me. But it's my play style. Sometimes 3 on Q then W. That's when I used to play a lot.

However in this instance it was Vs 3 tank.
In this situation I’m simply pushing my lane until we win because me getting to the nexus is as much annoying a yorick doing it. They won’t be able to only send one or two champs to stop me. At least 3 for a chance. By then having more than half the team going for me is already a win in my book.
Also in my play style weird as it seem I don’t use tentacles slam as my source of damage. I prefer to make sure I have a lot of them to heal me to full every time.

I play hearsteel illaoi regularly and would suggest you play right rune page with mana flow and gathering storm
That way you run out of mana slower and already get some ad before titanic
When you don’t have enough mana and you have just enough for a Q or E, you can press Q and quickly press W. You will do both abilities with no mana.
Always a good way to wake up to a Zwag video.
Im an old Illaoi main, not that im anywhere near as good as you but i always put 3 points into Q before maxing E, helped me wave clear waay better cus you one shot minions

Illaoi has the highest base ad lv18 behind gnars mega form. We need a max ad illaoi build
Before season 12ve I think (before the mythic items) illaoi coul reach near 640 ad (that's because transcendence gives you ad or ap when you have exceeded the cdr cap). So with that number of ad your e has 100% redirected damage (even more cause In the build you have black cleaver). Also if you hitted both the spirit and the champion you were dealing double damage.

tentacle positioning is a big thing, so ya gotta spawn them in the right places on purpose, and you can use e to cs, by grabbing his soul in a way that when tentacles smash it the cs gets killed.
you should always have two wall tentacles nearby if they are coming to gank you, and then when you grab a spirit+ulti, you will be immediately whomping with 4 tentacles, and 4 more for your w.
When I play illaoi, Q is a secondary thought.

Runes would be PTA presence of mind alacrity cut the grass, sudden impact, and relentless. Take attack speed, adaptive and health as well.
