Naipaul one of the finest prose stylist of English language is indoubtedly a leading light to all aspiring writers of india. Unfortunately some of his writings are a bit so to say racially bent, not to neglect his afro-phobia....! The reason why the Swedish academy kept him in wait for long before confering the coveteous title...!!!
Overrated book. The ironies n humors are not to my taste. My understanding of socio-political realities of Trinidad and world is minimal. Through out the whole book Mr. Biswas' and his irritating relatives constantly picking up on each other is off-putting enough to throw the book after reading 500+ pages( Actually I was gonna say 100 pages) This book is not of course 'Extremely Funny'. Naipaul really did serious ass-kissing to win the Nobel prize. These scholars showering praises on this book is just doing same old ass-kissing
V S Naipaul one of the greatest living writer in English Language. He has the ability to draw pictures with words.
