I can agree to that, I brought out my old barebone BMX bike, found the front wheel to it, added the wrong size bearings and managed to fit everything. It rides well and everything else is good, but the front wheel wobbles slightly! 😅

Too much grease basically means you got it on the grips, pro tip, masking tape on your grips until you’re done working on it, keeps the greae off of them and keeps them from getting the top rubbed off
There is such thing as too much grease when using a sealed bearing lol
It is theoreticly possible to "hydrolock" certain mechanisms when using too much grease, yet it will be difficukt to actually do that.
Greasing sealed bearings is exactly what I'd expect from a BMX bro 😂

I work with manufacturing of roller bearings and ball bearings for SKF (the company that invented the spherical ball bearings and the leading innovator in the market) and i can confirm that is too much grease for that application the reason that is too much grease is because if you add such a large amount of grease the viscus friction will cause there to be increased instead of decreased friction overall this is because the ball-bearing needs to push that grease out of the way as it rotates doing so creates friction and therefore heat making it harder to pedal a good amount of grease is where it just manages to stop the bearing from free spining (except for with sealed bearing as they don't free spin in the first place and usually don't require Grease to be replaced in non commercial use) hope this info helps 🙂.

"more grease than you think" is always the right answer! Although technically you can overpack grease which results in more heat and friction.
During my apprenticeship I remember being told to pack the bearing cage full then pack the housing 1/3 - 1/2 full of grease depending on what it is (with many exceptions) any excess grease will be taken home on your clothes.
Now anti-seize, if your boss is paying, load up.
Sometimes the right answer can also be no grease. Im talking in general now. Some bearings shouldnt be greased. Now with this case you are probably right...

@@T77BMX yeah the learning curve is a lot steeper at first for skateboarding, but you guys get WAAAAY crazier when you’re at a (pro to semi- pro) level. The danger is higher for you BMX guys after that IMO.

Just because there are some people going: There cant be too much grease. I just want to tell you that in general you should better look up if certain bearings should have oil, grease or nothing. It is kind of amazing on how many things you shouldnt put grease.

I believe in situations like this you could not over grease as any excess will work it's way out generally and if there is too much you're unlikely to damage anything and simply pedalling will feel a bit tougher like walking through was it high water

what to do when back mountain tire is bent and rubs on Frame
The best solution is to adjust the spoke tension to remove the buckle. When the Tyre is hitting the frame, Tighten the spoke that is on the other side where it is touching, and it will pull the rim into the centre. I hope this helps bro

I have been riding bmx for 10 years and I never knew you where suppose to put grease between the sealed bearing me and my 5 buddies never did that once I didn’t know this was a thing honestly unless it’s a joke lol but still just blows my mind if that’s how it’s suppose to be I looked at my bike hung on the wall and am just amused now lol

SO, the sealed bearing doesn’t need grease inside the bearing - it will work perfectly fine as it is, however the grease is essential to stop the bearings from seizing into the frame - which is super common on these. If you look after your bike & don’t leave it too long outside, I’m sure you will be fine!! Thanks bro

Hey bro, Yes the Red high Temp stuff is very good, especially for cranks. However the Red stuff does Dry out quicker than traditional Grease. I use a few different ones in the shop! 👊👊
