  • Just a quick unboxing video for the Solarcan Puck five-pack. I plan to take these out to record the sun's trails on some upcoming hikes and, hopefully, they'll still be there next spring and summer to retrieve.

I might as well add my own personal beef ( 🍔 ) with this product.
The kit comes with everything - *except the Sun!*
That's right! If you don't already own a G-type main-sequence star (G2V), you're wasting your money on this box of paper, metal, and plastic.
You need *a sun* to make all the pretty pictures you see online. That's the "solar" part of Solarcan they don't tell you about on the website. I'm not sure about the *rest* of you, but do you have any idea how much it costs to buy or build a nearly perfect ball of hot plasma, heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion reactions in its core? It must be *at least* several hundred dollars!
And it can't be just *any* medium-sized star, oh no! It needs to be nearly 330,000 times the mass of Earth - that's 99.86 percent the mass of our entire solar system! - and set 93 million miles from your Solarcan! Good luck with *that,* Chester! 🙄
I expect this sort of deceptive advertising from low-life corporations like Tesla and Apple, but we in the Photographic Arts must demand better! I suggest we expose these Scottish fraudsters by using the following battle cry:
    "No sun? No fun!"
(I was going to say, "No sunny, no money!," but that just looks stupid.)
Best wishes from Vermont, everyone! 😺

Fortunately, for everyone outside of Vermont, the PNW, and the U.K., the sun is there most of the time. :D

Yeah, they're kinda neat. I got one placed the other day and have four left to go.
