    Do you know what tip would be good for refinishing bathtubs. What you use looks like it would be great. What air compressor set up would work best for spraying tub surrounds and bathtubs? We usually use a turbine but want to convert over to the pressure pot for multiple unit commercail jobs . Thank you

    I looked for good pressure pots and spray guns on amazon. I wasn't satisfied with the description info that described their system. Further research showed tips and nozzles were not changeable, and they had no recommendation of what nozzle would work with what paint. So I kept looking. I needed good accurate info and found your channel.
    Now 15 videos later, I'm pulling the trigger on a trophy series gun, LVMP Tans Tech. Your videos got $750 out of me and Pittsurgh Spray Equipment is getting the sale. Good job. Thanks for meaningful information and not just sales pitches that couldn't sway me. But your facts and evidence got my money.

    how far do you open the product knob on the gun before setting pressure at the pot to get the right arc? also, is there a pre pot air regulator, or do I just use standard compressor psi of 120? nice video with good info. thanks!

    • @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
      @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo  Před 7 lety +5

      Hi Tim you should leave the knob on the gun completely open when adjusting the fluid arc. After getting the right arc the knob on the gun can be used for fine tuning the amount of material or for on the fly adjustments for certain product areas ect. It is ideal to have a regulator before the pot this is usually done by a wall mounted air regulator and air filtration unit that cleans oil and water from the compressed air if you had to you could connect to a compressor without a pre regulator just might not be as good of results. Let us know if this helps!

    Looking to do some wood finishing, interior and exterior painting. Would I save money without compromising quality by purchasing a compressor, pressure pot, a conventional gun & HVLP gun instead of purchasing an airless paint sprayer unit and a fuji hvlp unit?

    • @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
      @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi for versatility I would start with a airless with fine finish tip like the Grsco gx 19 or Tritech t5 fine finish setup if the fine finish tip is not enough control or quality than a turbine would be a decent add on tool for exteriors a pressure pot wouldn't make sense usually

    • @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
      @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo  Před 3 lety

      Most customers who want to do interior and exterior but aren't seasoned painters find an airless with a fine finish low pressure tip to deliver finish that is good for cabinets than use a rac x tip for general painting the gx 19 runs 849 or around 825 after a coupon and gives versatility and portability hvlp is possible to get more results but for latex like paints a mini mite 4 would be minimum I would recommend turbines also create heat which can be hard to deal with if spraying more than 20 or 25 minutes at a time

      @@PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo I have discovered a few people are using the pots for Latex (USA) and Acrylics (UK) on woodworking forums for furniture - I am seeking advice on the thicker paints, I know many recommend the Airless, but I already have a 40gal compressor (recently purchased) and HVLP guns, from 1.4mm to 2.0mm nozzles that I use with laquers, wanting to switch to furniture and kitchen makeovers, so would a pressure pot be advisable? I have learned thinning with distilled water 10% and Floetrol 10-15% can help with thicker paints being sprayed with a pressure pot system.

    • @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
      @PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi on the spray gun we keep changes to a minimum most changes are controlled at the pressure pot. In this case we used the air pattern wide open and a 1.4 fluid nozzle. If your fluid pressure is above 20 - 35 psi you can consider a larger tip on the spray gun, pattern adjustment and needle adjustment should be for fine tuning and getting in small spots.

    You're off to a good start with these videos. I would spend more time on a rehearsed script and more solid, higher quality camera work however. Also why not just a short ≥1 second blast with an air blower to send excess paint back into the pot? It's what I've always done, if done right there isn't much if any mess. As well you should mention you can push small amounts(300-900ml amounts) through a pressure fed system by placing a small cup of fluids in the pot and dipping the intake tube into the cup.
