  • Seventeen years ago, Miranda Brooks designed a garden in Long Island with “rooms.” She walks us through the grounds and through the design of giving dimension to a completely open space that functions as a meeting point between garden and home. Also, who wouldn’t want a shadow garden?

    Oh yeah -- let's hire Miranda, because everyone can afford a $30 million dollar estate on Long Island.

      That's not the point you jealous person. Everyone can afford seeds! The point is natural beauty which grows the soul. Try planting a small pot of flowers. It can change you and your life forever for the better! :)

    I got absolutely nothing out of this video. Woman with British accent talks... aimlessly. Video meanders. We see trees, some grass, some buildings. Throughout, there is tinkling music, vaguely annoying. At the end, there is a Vogue logo across the screen. Video as shallow as Vogue. Sorry Anna, this has no substance.

      Obviously you've never planted anything. Try it! Even a small container that you plant yourself. Gardening is a science and art that can become addictive...an ethical addiction! :)

      I’m sure Anna Wintour had nothing to do with this video. But you’re right. It has no substance. Not a single plant was mentioned. The only thing I got out of this was that she created rooms. But out of what? Where are the rooms other than the formal boxwood garden?

      @thelessimportantajmichel287 Před 3 lety +1

      1) think about garden design as outdoor rooms, as opposed to a strip of flowers stuck to the side of the house
      2) maintenance is just as important as design
      Those two points, along with some plant knowledge, are the foundation of residential landscaping. Everything else builds on them

    Lovely Video clip! Excuse me for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Saankramer Breathtaking Design System (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off product for learning how to design an amazing dream landscape without the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my work buddy finally got excellent success with it.
