I already take a grain of salt, that foundation or powder made from korea/japan/china rarely have diverse skintones. Even if they do, it'll be so ashy or too light, like the company never ever met brown or black people to test out their cosmetic💀

The price of producing a cosmetic in Korea is cheaper than everywhere else, that's why many brands make their cosmetics there, even Western. The quality isn't always good as everyone says (I'm obsessed with ingredients so I check everything) and a lot tests on animals. I live currently in SK and 90% of products I find are a no... even the most popular brands for being "good" use fragrances and that's the first step to a bad skincare product so when people tell me that skincare just has to be Korean to be good enough I sigh 😅

Agree. Korean skincare improved and downright saved my skin 10 years ago. The quality of my country's skincare was pretty bad and it would constantly give me acne or make my make up look awful. I decided to invest in korean skincare and boom, acne? gone. pores? invisible. dryness? never heard of her.
Luckily my country's skincare has improved tremendously ever since and I use it today, but I still occasionally buy korean creams or conditioners, because they just hit different.

One tip for you girls that always buy wrong foundation tones: your skin might be olive, so buy a green concealer and mix it in your foundation before you apply it. Mix the necessary amount of green concealer until it matches the color of your skin. Always match your neck tone, btw. It might be necessary to apply more amounts of green foundation depending on the area of the face (if you want an even more natural look to your skin). Hope this tip helps you girls with olive skin. It is also valid for black girls, btw, just buy a darker green tone, white girls must buy a more pastel/pale green.

Than kinda marketing sounds seriously unethical, to act like your stuff is in the same league as actual medication. Also, they weren't the first to do that. She has avoided the sun her whole life so her skin is still pretty youthful for 90! My dad is dark Irish, black hair and white freckled skin. I got a little of both with my moms undertone and my dads overtime 🤷🏼‍♀️Anyway they were bought out and like usual they started changing formulas and shades they changed so I found it hard to match ANY of their standard foundation. When they sold I was still using their foundation. Now I’ve moved on. I did buy Calyx their only fragrance it’s wonderful.

The issue with finding a shade match is face redness. I mean, a huge purpose of foundation is to cover redness. So if I matched to my face or even my upper neck area, I’d be wearing pink foundation!! I match to my lower neck/chest area and it’s a great way to get a perfect match.

    • @sebumpostmortem
      @sebumpostmortem Před 6 měsíci +6

Very good point! (Not me trying shades on the lid because it was the only area free of redness🤦🏻‍♀️). Anyways, the neck color aka "how my face should be" is just an orientation. The only way to make sure that the foundation matches is applying it on top of the redness, wait about 10 mins for fully oxidation and scrutinize it under DAYLIGHT✨. I' ve learned it the hard way. They disappeared on my neck but, BOOM!, once at home, they turned orange or too dark on my face. So, 3-4 stripes from forehead to clavicle, literally😅, wait and daylight. Any other way, is a NO. Hope it helps🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

I need this!!! I have tried so many foundations and concealers that don’t match my skin tone 😢 I have very light skin but I i have redness so I makes my skin look pinkish 👀

A pro BA can also do that 😂 I once met a BA that just take one look at my bare face and immediately gave me the right shade. Crazy but she’s very good at her job.

I agree though. A well-educated and experienced artist can do this for you ❤ I pride myself on my color-matching abilities

Its actually not that bad. Cheaper than some high end foundations. It’s approximately $45 USD (60,000 KRW) for the foundation and for the cushion foundation, it cost $33 USD (45,000 KRW).

For those expressing frustrations that they don't offer your skin shade (like mine)... there's an overabundance of cosmetic brands that exist that weren't developed with East Asian skintones and needs in mind. It's not odd that brands originating in certain regions are going to focus on 99% of their customer base. What is odd is ignoring literally thousands of great brands that do provide shades for darker skin tones... and instead, demanding that East Asian brands cater to that.
A lot of my skincare products are Korean, and many of my makeup products are from Asian brands as well. But my foundation/concealer are always from brands like Hourglass, Saie, Nars, Fenty, etc. Find your shade and just order refills online. Haven't had to get my 'shade matched' in years :)

Girl It’s literally not even about that I’m not trying to be rude or nothing but literally it’s only about the fact that we all try so many different shades of foundation but somehow can’t fine the perfect foundation for us we’re not necessarily saying that we can’t find foundations that are dark enough for dark skin it’s literally we can’t find foundation shades that are an exact match to any of our skin tones because we don’t have a machine like that that could exactly tell us in other parts of the country so it’s going to be extremely hard to find that and all we want to know is How we can get the perfect foundation it’s not all about not finding one that’s dark enough For us it’s literally about the fact that we can’t find one that matches has completely FYI not trying to be rude if I’m coming off that way merry Christmas!

Ew, no. A big brand like this that also sells in the US can do its job to release enough shades for everyone. It’s no one’s job to just be ok being excluded, and it’s pretty gross of you to tell people to do that.

@@joslynmitchell5073 Didn't read it as rude at all but appreciate you making it clear. My comment wasn't directed at you but at people, specifically those outside of Asia, who complain about the shortcomings of East Asian makeup brands. I feel you on the 'exact match' thing because I've always had to buy multiple shades and blend to get my precise skin tone. I remember being in high school and literally looking like a ghost because dark enough shades simply did not exist. I feel like it's a luxury to have such an abundance of makeup brands/options to choose from in this day and age. That's where I was coming from

@@littlesparkkitten First of all, I can see where the entitlement comes from because your language is that of a 12 year old.
Second, a brand doesn't *owe* you anything lol. If a brand doesn't cater to your specific needs, you can give your dollars to any of the countless other brands that do. It's simple
