The nine-tales chakra helps Naruto sense peoples true emotions, so that makes it kind of hard for Sakura to lie to him. It also makes his Talk-no-Jutsu super effective

I mean she literally did it to "protect" naruto or just to release him from that promise or "burden". but if it was me, it would break my heart. how he said "you suddenly just started liking me?" you can’t say this wasn’t a heartbreaking moment for naruto. at least a bit..
Agent Ombraura he seemed confused and hurt. it definitely was because she was lying. not only because she said that he can forget about that promise he made but also BECAUSE she said that she's in love with him. you can tell, that he kind of wished her feelings were true, but he also wished, that everything would be like in the past (the flashbacks when sakura was so obsessed about sasuke), that’s why he said she should stop lying to herself. that’s the reason why he was hurt.

He was joking and was trying to look cool in front of Minato, he also told him that he did not find a girl yet. Had he not been over her crush he wouldn't have seen through this fake confession, he understands that Sakura loves Sasuke.

Mama Weebly is awfully sharp. Once again, she figured out what was going on. The sad part is, it becomes clear that Sakura definitely wasn't serious, but was willing to go along with the charade. That means that most of what she was saying was less than honest. In a way, she was even using Naruto & trying to manipulate him. She thought Naruto's crush level was enough to have him eating out of her hand.
It would have been different, if Sakura actually felt that way, but she makes it clear that it wasn't the case. Can you imagine her playing girlfriend to Naruto for a while when they get back, only for her to run after Sasuke again at a later date? There was so much potential in a relationship between those two, even if just a friendship, if it hadn't been for Sasuke. Sakura is competent, capable, and smart, but her critical flaw is Sasuke. It undermines her. So often, shows have a moment like this, where the protagonist is just being oblivious. However, in this case, I think Naruto made the right call.
Yes, well, manipulating Naruto out of trying to keep his promise was the point. But to be fair to her, she probably wouldn't have thought to do it if Sai (Kishimoto) didn't put it in her head that the burden of Naruto's actions and his promise was her responsibility, when it actually wasn't. When it comes down to it, Sai's assessment of the issue is incorrect on multiple counts. Even when Shizune made a counterpoint that was actually true, Sai then responded with a counterpoint that was not true and made no actual sense (the one where was he said they rely on Naruto too much). But I guess since Kishimoto went out of his way to write these scenes, he specifically wanted to convey that it was Sakura's fault.

I think Weebly Girl is mixing in her old memories of watching future episodes with the memories of watching previous episode with Momma Weebly. Sakura's........"involvement" isn't fully confirmed until next episode.

You may not agree with me but after watching this episode for many times I think that yes, Sakura was lying to Naruto and maybe herself too but maybe she really thought deep down that if she tried to give him a chance she would like him and would cope with her feelings for Sasuke and she really thought that maybe the time really came to give up on Sasuke even if then she wouldn't like Naruto the same way he likes her but she would try to forget Sasuke.
I never hated Sakura, even after this episode. Because if you think about it, this is Sai's fault. If he didnt violate the bro code, this wouldn't have happened.

At this point, I was starting to think Kishimoto or someone was trolling us here. Sakura's confession to Naruto should've been real. Her getting over Sasuke and falling for Naruto would have been good character development.
Kishimoto actually fought with his wife (A NaruSaku fan) for that one.

I agree witj you in a way that they could have made the confession if we see Sakura is feelings for Sasuke is starting to gone in the arcs but it never change... I wish they push her more towards Naruto because like he's just good man and plus he is the hero of the village and most of all they have been spend a lot of time together in missions even in filler arcs, movies for SURE!! 😏

I don’t really like this episode personally because naruto took so much time to make Sakura like him but he just rejects her it’s like he already gave up on her edit: I mean it was a trap anyways
He rejected her for a good reason, imagine how painful would be for Naruto to accept Sakura just to discover much later that she lied.
Her intentions were good but the method was terrible, I dislike the scene because playing with someone's feelings is horrible, but Naruto's response was amazing.

She used a weird tactic, but honestly? I think this is the best Sakura has ever been. She's putting aside her own "love" for Sasuke, accepting the needs of the village over herself, and actually doing what she thinks is best for Naruto as someone who truly cares about him. And as for trusting Naruto...I think she knows that as this point he's pretty obsessed with Sasuke, and just releasing him from his obligation won't cut it. She needs to give him something else to focus on. This is a million miles away from the immature brat from Part 1.
Fair play to Naruto though, recognising the BS. Still doesn't excuse the fact that he's obsessed with "saving" a man (murderer) who's now an active threat to his entire village. Really frustrates me how the show is painting this as him being more "mature" for this decision, rather than an utterly selfish act based on making himself feel better and getting his friend back.
Her execution was poor
I don't blame naruto coz everything pushed him towards this action to save him.Firstly sakura's promise then itachi gave him responsibilty of sasuke and then obito tell him about itachi's past and this gave naruto an understanding that why that emo is doing all that sh*t.Plus they were reincarnated brothers and they were end up killing each other which would give rise to more hate as pain mentioned.Naruto wanted to end this cycle of hatred so if he kill sasuke then it gives rise to more hate means true peace cannot be achieved.Coz he knew everyone had their own sense of justice as nagato mentioned so he is not killing sasuke.
This is when I was officially done with Sakura 🤦 like I didn't think much of her before this and this episode just solidified that she's never going to be a likable character. She should've trained under Danzo. Those two fit well with each other
