  • In our opinion, there are no modern 116cm uprights better than this model of Seiler.

Luckily Seiler still produces pianos in Germany under the SE line. The ED models are made in Indonesia by Samick. They are exact copy’s of what’s being made in Germany. They even use the same materials and parts such as Renner actions and Abel hammers. I played an ED126 not long ago in a store and it was very lovely. I was surprised at the warm rich tone and bell like quality of the treble. I thought it would just sound like another Samick. It makes for a very interesting alternative to Kawai or Yamaha’s 48 inch pianos. I’m sure the German Seilers are in a league of their own but the ED line is very good as well. They also have the Johannes Seiler line which is their entry level priced pianos made also by Samick but they are a completely different design from the German Seilers. They use Samick’s Gold Action and the smaller models use surface tension sounds boards. Only certain models are equipped with Abel hammers I believe most of the JS use Samick made hammers. The higher grade models get an AA grape solid spruce soundboard.
