How to Convert a Drive larger than 32gb to Fat32

- Guide shows you how to format a large hard drive or USB Drive (up to 2TB) to Fat32. If your having trouble formatting your 64gb. 128gb, 256gb, 512gb, 768gb, 1TB, 1.5TB or 2TB Hard drive using the command prompt this will help.

I completed the backup and tried to reset my entire laptop because it's stuck on the home page (displaying the date/time) due to a hardware and windows update error. The laptop wont let me use system restore or even reset completely, do you have any knowledge/videos on this issue?

Very clear and easy to follow video. Did wanna add one thing that was different from your video (2016 version v 2019 version).
So I used chrome to download macrorit (portable version). When I went to open the mde-free-portable file in my download folder, there were two additional files named 'x64' and 'x86'.
For those that do not know what this means, this referring to your PC System type. If you do not know your type, you can check this by going to the search bar in the lower-left corner of the screen and typing in either 'Settings', 'About', 'System Information', and probably others or use a hotkey.
After you determine your system type, open either the 'x64' or '86x', open the file titled 'dm' whose file type will be 'application' (still unsure? it'll have the largest file size), and this is where you would extract the contents. You may get a pop-up like I did where the PC is protecting your computer, in that pop-up you can still open the file. If that deters you, I did run malwarebytes after formating my USB as a FAT32 and it didn't detect anything.

make sure you click "commit" after changing the volume to FAT32. that's what I had to do to convert my sandisk 128GB so that my PS4 would read it properly.

Excellent video and instructor. When you buy larger USB thumb drives they are formatted in exFAT. This will not work in most car audio systems.

Awesome video. I needed to set up a 500GB Samsung T5 SSD with FAT32 for a specific video storage use. Tried some other solutions in Windows 10 without success. Followed the instructions from Chris and changed the drive format to FAT32. I appreciate the information.

Thank you! The website for the converter looks different on Google Chrome in 2020, but I could still figure out pretty easily what to do. Crossing my fingers that I can now play home videos with my USB plugged into my PS4.

Lori Bishop it could be that the videos may not be in a format that the PS4 can understand.
Chris Waite They are AVI which, from what I have researched, should work. But, I am considering trying to convert them to MP4 files. Or just doing something else altogether. Maybe buy a new TV??!! I just want my kids to be able to watch home videos but I want to store and play them back digitally - avoiding using DVDs if possible.

Hi I'm so it worked and I put stuff on it then tested it on my tv it worked 100% put it back in my pc then it showed folder with funny writing so I deleted the folders now my flash won't pick up in any of my pc ports do you perhaps know how I can fix that?

I commented on your other video before I found this, I’m still having trouble though, when I open the program I can see where the drive is but the drive letter isn’t showing all it says is “Disk 2 (removable, healthy)” and underneath that “Unallocated 149 GB”
When I right click I don’t get Format Volume either, just a very short menu with Create Volume, Wipe Unallocated Space, Surface Test or View Properties
Would you know a way to get around that?
I am not sure if this can be used on an iPod, Apple tend to lock things down.
