Sifu Siow Hok San Lion Dancing Drumming at first Brisbane Lion Dancing Seminar. This drumming is from start to finish with no interruptions at all.
This clip was taken during the 2006 Brisbane Lion Dance Seminar, attended by Vincent, Cecilia, Steven and Daniel. - Sport
Takes a Lot of Practice, i can feel the power here, this can make the bad spirit go away.
The best showmanship, the most effective and the most entertaining drummer on youtube
Sifu is the best in liondances
Si fu hadnt played with these guys as a group in a long time. Kong Fook is his disciple on the Gong from Khuan Loke who came over with him, Lam is in the red shirt who moved to bris from Khuan Loke and charles is in the black shirt. It was a freestyle where they just gave a demo of all the testings and a couple of variations. Love to see one of you guppies pull it off better! WOW, you can run your mouth on youtube! says alot for your sifu doesnt it!
how do i become one of his disciple?
The sau dim sounds so satisfying and it’s synchronized
No, this is Hok San lion dancing, whether you are a beginner or not, as long as you use the Hok San style, this is the music.
Sifu Siow is better than everybody else
its beautiful.............powerful and yet makes me cry...muahhhh
Dear sifu still now as I know you are the best trainer 👍🇲🇺🙏
CZcams fixed the problem; video no longer stuck.
Best drumming I seen and heard so far for this lenght of time. Anybody seen better?
Thanks.
The stick swingings are actually signals to the cymbals, gong and lion on what the next set of drum beats are, just in case you don't know that.
woaw such thunder's drumming cant wait until i leawrn hok shan style great drumming guys
Wow, excellent! I always love hok san (sar ping) style drumming.I've learn my drum from teacher chen shaoqi (master siow's sifu) and though i'm no longer with his troupe, i' always like his drumming and always respect my teacher
this is excellent
Majestic... Thanks for this upload!
And Happy New Year! xD
ima keep listen to it!
keep it closed. it depends on how big your drum is. We have a pretty big drum so about 5 sheets of news paper and if it still doesnt sound right, we add more. Just keep an eye on it.
Apparantly he is going to publish a book / video.
Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! Happy Lunar New Year from San Diego!

You can learn Sar Ping style lion dance in Kuching, Limbang and Sabah.

its an addictive beat. but that's about all they got, the same rythm all the way TT
Yes there are only 15 named sec when he teaches them but within them there are 3 extra ones(ie, sud-sec?).

Look up in the phone book under Martial Arts and Lion Dance Team/Group/troupe.

Chinese Masonic Society (Melbourne) will release a version of their own Fut San drumming sometime this year, stay tune.
i've heard so many things about sifu siow
Seems to happen to all troupes around the world I think. It's very hard to be 100% when you are out performing whole day with no breaks.
gooooood
good
I have a question, what is the difference between the tapered drum sticks from the regular drum sticks?
This is sarping
my sifu does stuff like tis too, sifu Y.C. wong
we need those firecrackers and a lion to complete this
wow pls show us
Hisiow
How are you my name is Lung
I have question about the hok san lions dance drums
SGP'n Lion Dance troupes are believed to be the very best and purest of troupes in the eastern world....simply the best.
do you vent the drum up or do you completely close it under the fire? and how much fire? small amounts?
very good teacher Siow hok san drum music,
I can learn with you, may I become a member group of teachers Siow hok san ...?
I really liked the lion dance drum music ..
that moment when you realize sifu siow was doing horse stance the entire time for a whole 7 minutes while drumming
O_O
LOL at the 3:50 mark. The guy at the gong was like OMG! TOO CLOSE!
Me to this is what I want
This is Master Siow Ho Phiew (萧斐弘).
this is fucking awesome
It's a lot to it. It's not easy...
đánh hay đấy
this is so dope. So I'm always hearing the typical Fat San Lion Dance Drumming. Is that just as elaborate? I seem to see a simplified version. I'm self taught so its just a mish mash. This seems very traditional with proper technique. Never boring too.
try checking si del Danza Del Leon.
It's not stuck for me ?
does this style also work for fut sans?
damn i watch this as a kid!
I think CYL is 'Chinese Youth League' anyone can correct me if im wrong here, but I think thats it.
cymbals and gonger is good
dam..well..another something to remember LOL
wat? dude hok san and fut san is different. fut san has its own drum style.

@ilikesportstacking will do. just got off of school. give me a couple days. just drums. no cymbals. no gong. just drums. in my basement. on my drum.
Lion Dancing Drumming :)
just put the drum in the sun , it works ~
To tighten the skin?
Hey. I have a drum that is loose and cold. The beats sound a little off. Have any tips? I found a tip saying to put it in the sun for 2 days. If it works, I have a question. If you put it out for 2 days, do you leave it overnight, or, leave it in the sun then bring it back in and bring it back out tommorow. Reply back. PLEASE.
Let's hear Chinese original from 蕭師傅研發鶴山舞獅鼓樂錄音
hi my name is phu duong in from houston tx and i was wondering when a lion head fur gets dirty is there anyway to get rid of the dirt so the fur would be original and the same and if your sifu can help
because our lion head fur are mostly dirty so i was wondering if there is any material to change it back to normal or to fix it

@NumaLaw
is he a master? or do his hands go in crazy directions that affect the tone of his beats that make him look like he;s amazing. The thing with Hok San Drumming is that it is the same thing over and over again. it gets boring after about 30 seconds. and by no means an i a master. i'm only 15.
@TrendyGuy98 Where are you from ?
Hay Lam
burn some news paper and put it underneath the drum, my groups has a couple of old drums and thats what we do to tighten them up. Burn it until the sound of the drum is good. its loose because of the moisture.
Can you specify which part ? because this is all hok san drumming and all the drumming he has done are in his manual.
What is the name of this drumming? Shang pin yang, xia ping yang or zhong ping yang.
*his
Learn from one of his disciples:

They are located in Brisbane.
That's the Dai Tao Fut drumming.
u guy teaching in kuching ?
There are 18 different sections there(& that is only the official ones), if that's 'all they got' I wonder if you can educate me on any other styles that has more.
what size is that drum?
