I mean honestly if you don't know about these 3D Mario games you've probably been living on a desert island somewhere in the middle of nowhere or a boomer who couldn't care less about videogames.
What it really needs is to be a better collection in general. People have had a Mario 64 and Sunshine running in widescreen, HD 60fps. And yet, we have official remasters here, and they barely qualify as such.

Sony completely remade the Crash and Spyro trilogies and sold them for less.
I remember as a kid not owning a memory card for the gamecube delibaratly not turning off the gamecube and unplugging the lead for the TV so come back the next day and progress further. I never got to finish it as my parents would always notice after a day or so and turn it off /unplug it

I'm glad to pay $60 for these three games on one system, and that system being the current gen system.
It’s a 35th anniversary collection. Not a remaster. Ur basically paying $20 per game which are all optimised, portable and has extra music. That’s pretty good for pricing since these games are usually sold higher than that in most cases

This is the Galaxy 1 version of this song. It was first used in Toy Time Galaxy seen in 1:39. Galaxy 2 then re-remixed it in Supermassive galaxy with a different type of rhythm and beat.
Gosh, it's almost like certain music that was in _Galaxy 2_ was also in _Galaxy 1._

knowing Nintendo (ie lazy rush jobs for stuff like this) they won't have added the option to change the camera controls.
Coming from experience... I loved sunshine as a kid but then I transitioned to first-person shooter camera systems without inversion. Sunshine on Gamecube has inverted camera controls and fludd aiming controls that cannot be changed in-game.
If Nintendo hasn't added in the option to change these, the vast majority of people won't be able to play sunshine as they have spent the last 20ish years training their brain to use non-inverted controls (as every other game in the last 20 years has them as standard).

Really looking forward to playing this. Mario 64 was a little before my time, (I still experienced it as a retro game) but Sunshine and Galaxy were literally my childhood. Actually pretty sure Sunshine was the first video game I ever had, and Galaxy was the first one I ever beat with 100% completion.

@@kirbza No it doesn't, not only does the backward long jump takes a long of attempts to consistently pull off but it is a crucial trick for obtaining good times or are we going to create a category for Switch speedruns.
The new joycon's I got for Christmas last year haven't drifted yet, buy my old Joycon's did.
I grew up with SNES. When I found a n64 in my dads closet for me as an xmas gift....in july. I was excited. that is a long time for a 9 year old to pretend he didnt see something so amazing.

Have you ever seen a Mario 64 speedrun? Mario jumps backwards, you hear “Y-Y-Y-YA-YA-YA-YA-YA-YA-YAHOO” which makes Mario go really fast and clip through walls, skip impossible parts etc.

@dakky Hate for not including Galaxy 2, charging $60 for bare bones ports, low framerates, small aspect ratio for Mario 64, etc.
Also hate for it only being available for six months and they limited the physical release of the game to promote digital sales to make more money.

Nintendo doesn’t even read these comments so I don’t think it bothers them at all.

I'll NEVER forget the first time I played Mario 64; After a whole childhood of side scrolling/sprites, seeing it in full 3D was mind blowing. Such a monumental time in gaming, and best christmas of my life

so we now found out that all this time the amazing iconic switch sound is just Mario snapping his fingers.
