We are a family of 5 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! If your power goes out and you have no heat just set up a tent in your living room or room of your choice and get inside the tent. It will get warm in the tent a bit and with a few blankets and pillows you can stay warmer in the tent verses the whole house.. just a lil tip to try and help someone..
I learn about doing this about six years ago. Its a way to stay worm.

Random facts about me: I’m married to a deaf man. I’ve been paralyzed and wheelchair bound since birth due to a spine defect called Spina Bifida. My husband and I moved from Kansas, where they just had several days of below zero temps and wind chills making it feel as cold as -35°, to Arizona where we currently live in the valley. My older brother and I are exactly 3 years and 3 weeks apart. I was supposed to be born on the day he was born, May 1st, and he was supposed to be born on the day I was, May 22nd. I participated in Special Olympics for a few years growing up.

I love your family and videos...random thought about me....I'm 75 and agree with you about not drinking...I have tried it but I get sick from it. There's a lot of alcoholism in my family and I want to stay from it.

Random facts about me, live in Australia ,i am 55 widowed at 38yr old left with 2 kids, widowed again at 53 with now 4 kids ..Both cancer leaving behind 1 tough mumma About to become a nanna to a little girl called Audrey in 5 weeks (so stinking excited ) Life is good !!
Regarding Garrett having the same birthday as his great grandfather, my great grandmother and my cousin’s son (her great great grandson) share the same birthday. The kicker is that they are exactly 100 years apart. My great grandmother was born on 6/6/1906, and my cousin’s son was born 6/6/2006.
I’m in Texas and we didn’t have electricity for 3 days. We had no heat either. It finally came on tonight.

Happy Birthday Garrett, thanks for sharing it with us! I am an alcoholic/addict but have been clean and sober for 28 yrs. My husband and I thought we were not able to have children and two years into being sober God gifted us with a son, he is now 26 yrs old, works for our local emergency dispatch and has a six yr old son.

Most random thing ever. Met my full biological sister about 2 years ago when I was just shy of 40 years old. I'm adopted and this happened by chance though Ancestry DNA. Met my biological mother too and now we are all close.

I live on Texas/Oklahoma line ( Texhoma) and power has been out for 3 days off and on for 16 hours at a time, and no water at all!! Staying warm at moms..prayers to every one with power and water!!

Happy birthday to Garrett! Who was 4 when I started watching this channel - LOL! Loved learning the random facts about you. Let's see...random thing about me...I came home from the hospital in a Christmas stocking on Christmas Eve the year I was born.
Hmmm. Randomness...I studied abroad in England my last year of college and loved it so much, spent another year working on an MA in Egyptian Archaeology.
My father was an alcoholic, and my mom smoked, both died of their bad habits and I don't do either, I got married at 35 and had my son at 40 and he will 21 next month, and we share the same day, different months......and I'm a 8 year Cancer Survivor 💚💜 Blessing to all people in the storm effected areas.
I didn't get married until I was 38! My husband was 46 and it was both our first marriage.

My husband and I will have been married 20 years this October and together for 22 years. We have one son and several angel babies.
My grandson Jacob in Arkansas turned 7 on the 15th. Time sure flies! That was a precious day ...he is so sweet! Happy Birthday Garrett!

Random fact: I'm an only child, a youngest child, a middle child & the oldest child. My parents only had me, both remarried, I have 2 older step sibs from my stepdad & 2 younger from my stepmom. I couldn't birth any children yet have been blessed with 11 wonderful grandchildren! Endometriosis stopped me from birthing my own children but I got 3 great step kids through my late husband who have in turn blessed me with my grandbabies.
My dad was the Commander of the AWANA program for many years in the late 70’s and 80’s. He passed in 2011. I won a Timothy Award in the AWANA program!! I then became a leader while in High School. I graduated from a Christian School in 1981.

I remember doing a special things on my kids birthday when they were growing up, it is so much work, I did not think so when I was doing it. But looking back, so worth it. I loved making their birthdays special. Only a supermom with a superkid who deserves to be treated the special day he deserves.
I did not know they still made gumball machines. I used to have one as a kid, and I sure did love it. I enjoy your videos of your family so much. Thank you for sharing.

Definitely getting alaska vibes here in west texas!! Lol its been scary. My entire family has not had power and some with no water. My house did lost loose power yet and still have water for now... definitely bringing out the worst and best of people!

Hi guys! Texas girl here! I was so thinking about you guys while we are going through this!🥶 Do y’all have to keep your faucets running all the time to keep your pipes from freezing? We are trying to stay warm with our wood stove and praying the pipes don’t burst🙏 So enjoyed watching Garrett on his birthday!❤️ Happy 7th buddy!❤️❤️❤️
In Alaska, our homes are insulted to a much greater extent than in Texas. Also, we wrap our pipes that run under the house to help keep them from freezing. I'm also pretty sure that our pipes from our city water or wells are much deeper than yours. Here where I live in South Central Alaska most water lines are 10to 12 feet below ground and I'd bet that they're deeper in the Interior. We're praying for Texas and all the areas that are adversly affected by these winter storms. I'm with Burt in the I'd gladly send you some of what we have to deal with winter but they'd not reach you in time.

I am originally from ND and now in WA state and when we are told of long freeze we always leave faucets dripping so pipes don’t freeze. Learned that from living on farm in ND.
I'm in Ohio and when I was a kid that's what we did at my parents (my grandparents as well) kept the faucets dripping like Joyce said. Also, open the cabinet door to where the pipes are so warm air can get to them. I hope it warms up for you all soon!

When I was 18 I was riding my bicycle into town and as I crossed an alley way a car came flying out hit me I went flying over the car and landed on my head but by the grace of God I somehow took the brunt of injuries on my shoulder and my head way unharmed and the person who came to my aid and let use her phone to call my mom to let her know what happened I went to the ambulance service a few days later to thank her but they told me she been dead for years before the accident so I believe she is my guardian angel and she moved me at the point of impact to save my life because everyone said the way I landed I should be dead. Happy birthday greetings to Garrett 🎂🧱 from the South Texas gulf coast where it has been in the teens and ice has been king here for the past few days. Water pipes have burst, people are without power/heat, water, etc., but the people here are resilient. And the good news is that it is supposed to get up to 73 on Sunday. Yay! Random fact about me - I am a world traveler and I'm looking forward to the world opening back up post COVID so I can continue my travels. Love your videos! 😊

Very wise decision on the alcohol Bert! Little known scientific fact alcoholism is or can be inherited. My Grandfather was alcoholic and as his family we were advised to be very careful with anything that can be considered addicting! My fun fact is a have a very big desire to rv around Alaska! I was always afraid of this so I never touched drugs. My dad had drug issues.

Growing up with both parents as alcoholics made me determined to not become one myself. On a more fun note, my 3 grandchildren were all born on the 26th! Three different months. And my daughter and my sister’s son were born on the same day, same hospital!

Feb 16 was my mom's birthday 1917. You guys are great and have been following your lives for years. I'm sure your parents are very proud of you.
My father and grandfather were both alcoholics. My grandfather died from it. Thankfully my father has now been sober the last 30 years. I do socially drink but I'm fully aware that it is in my blood and always will be! Love your videos! I'm in Kentucky so it's fun seeing how you all live in Alaska!

I live in Central Texas and I am so ready for warm weather. I haven't seen temperatures this cold since leaving Colorado after getting my degree. 0' degrees Fahrenheit really stinks and the ice and then snow and more sleet on top of the snow...Sheesh!

In 1970, my grandmother was a civilian employee in the galley for the Great Lakes Navy Base. She especially liked a Petty Officer who was a baker, so we arranged a blind date. We will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in June this year. Thanks to my Grandma Edna (may she RIP).

No electricity we can deal with, but no water is really makes it tuff. My part of Texas is where the majority of the fruit and vegetables are grown. It's hard to see thousands of acres of frozen vegetables.
I spent many years in the RGV in Texas and remember the big freeze in the 1950s and how devastating it was.
My family says they live in Dallaska now 😂

If scars told stories, I'd be a novel! And Garrett reminds me so much of my own son, little boys are precious!

Family tree stuff: My Dad's dad, my Mom's dad, my dad and my brother were all born on July 19th. My brother has 2 kids, both born on May 29th--ten years apart! And my granddaughter, Bailee (my oldest daughter's girl) was born on April 22--same day as Bailee's father. You'd think, with 365 days to choose from, we'd stop stacking birthdays on the same few days!! 🤣

You didn't lose power? Wow! I'm in Austin. We had the rolling outages. Now we have no water at all.
We are in Leander and have been having rolling blackouts, this morning we only have enough water pressure to drip our faucet. But we are fortunate that our house hasn't gotten under 68° in a couple of days.
re: alcohol ,not drinking that was a wise life choice ,nobody can tell me that awful addiction does not run in families .
