- Hello friends, I continue my series of videos in which I try to find abandoned shelters and restore them a little bit and put in order there. In this episode I found a small stone house on the bank of the river, which once served as a safe shelter.

I cant get enough of your videos. So satisfaying to see the work you do.. Agree so much with Carol M here... many people will need to hideout in one of his restaurated "dugouts"...some day... Also good teaching in how to survive in primitive conditions! Frankly, I think God uses him, for this particular purpose

What a cool find! I'm new to the channel so I'm not sure where you're from. In the US if a person finds a building like that, it's probably occupied or someone owns it. I do think if you find a place like that, as long as you leave it better than it was when you arrived, the owner shouldn't be too mad.

That plastic on the outside of the windows is very recent, and the weeds are short out front. I wouldn't be making myself at home and sawing up someone's lumber.
What are the advantages that a stone house has over a log cabin, if any. Specifically in the area of keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter ...bear & other wild animal attacks, etc. Obviously the big bad wolf would be having a harder time blowing the stone house down.

Cooler in the summer. Cooler in the winter unless insulation is added to the walls and ceiling.
A stone house keep warm longer in the winter when fire goes out, due to the heated stones, a log house doesnt keep the heat for long due to the fact that logs dont conserve heat the same way that stone does.
@@pegasus210563 What about during the summer? Do the stones help keep the cabin cooler. I appreciate all the answers. I want a stone house or stone cabin in the mountains. For real. Stone houses look more rustic and cozy than log cabins ...very campy and earthy.

Definitely doesn't look 'abandoned' to me. Looks like alot of work recently done to it.
The wood in the shelter still had green leaves on it, so I don’t think it was abandoned.

DiMA l guess you're kind of a history buff. Saving these places might even save someone's life you never know. If you're looking for something to do. If you're bored l have plenty to do around here. I could use a hand lol. Alabama is a big fan.

i rehab'd an abandoned shack. the first thing i did was burn some juniper inside it. i don't know of any insect that likes being around smoldering juniper.
(you can use smoldering cardboard too)

Something tells me that someone will be pretty pissed when coming back to continue the build of this little shelter and find you messed up their plannes for the build. I meen: The leaves on the branches next to the stove is still green so the owner would have been there in the past 3 weeks.

@@mgn5667 You havent been watcing it 24/7 for past 4-5 weeks so no way you can tell that. Just the green leaves not yet start falling off the branches tells me somone put it there less than 2-3 weeks ago.
