A survey of the presidency of George Washington. It covers his role in the adoption of the US Constitution, his election as the nation's first President, the major problems his administration faced, and his relationships with Native tribes, foreign nations, and the institution of slavery. It is to be used in conjunction with readings of the text of Washington's Farewell Address and the US State department History of the US and the Haitian Revolution.
