Early to mid 80’s a lot of my pals had RS2000s, Mexicos and a couple of Harriers all great cars but me I stuck to my Capris and still have one. Top marks for keeping an old Ford alive 👍
glad to see you restored that car, wish i had the money for another rs2000. i was 19 and bought a signal amber rs2000 for £250. if only i knew then what i know now!
Hi Phil, I’m still in the middle of restoring it, I will put more on here as I go along. I, like you, Sold several for buttons a long time ago, the only way I can afford one now is to restore this one 😁 Thanks Mark
@@MarkEdwards luckily for me i still own my first escort, although in need of a total restoration. been parked in my dads garage for 20 years but is a 76 mk2 mexico. but same here, collecting genuine parts to restore it.
The memories, that’s what it’s all about 😁 A quick search shows your old car hasn’t been taxed since 2007, which isn’t that long really 😉 It might still survive in someone’s garage.
Cheers Mark, for your post, would like to know if she is sitting in someones lock-up/garage .. any RS'rs out there know of her whereabouts ... (reg; NWX 94V)
Hi Nicholas, I’ve had it over 3 years now, the floor pans look really good, inner wings have been repaired before and fillered over, so need replacing. Thanks Mark

Thanks Nick, I’d love a Capri too😁
Unusual to see a V reg which isn’t a custom.
Best of luck with the restoration and I’m looking forward to your next post.
jixuscrixus1967 , thanks, and yes the Base model is a lot rarer, ‘cos no body wanted them 😂
Fordthorne Tredegar. I used to go there in my late teens for bits for my Escort and Capri. Happy days.
I'm sure it's a mini market now.
No, I hoped it was still there 😂

A ton of rust to get rid of, but inner wings and floor pan seems in good condition. Have you had this car a long time ?

Wow ! Did you find it in a pond ?
No, South Wales 😂
