According to authorities, the incident happened on Monday evening.
The pilot made an emergency call to John C. Tune Airport around 7:40 p.m.
He reported engine trouble and was given clearance to make an emergency landing.
After some time, the pilot radioed that the aircraft would not reach the airport.

I am a Ugandan living in Sweden but I have grieved like I come from the Wigwe family and like I was a beneficiary in one or the other. I 100% agree with you'll about the insensitivity of not only Wigwe Herbert's pastor and wife, but also each member of the church who attended the 60th BP of the pastor's wife. That 60 year old woman and her husband looked like clowns at the party.
When I hear people say churches is out for business; that's wrong. If church is into business then that is when they will even act it very well, and pretend where possible to ensure business goes on. Business people are very smart and alert so you cannot say that church is a business when the issue here is organic

My pastor lost his 8 months old child on the 1st of March and my son was to celebrate his 12yrs birthday on the 19th of March my son cancelled his birthday and said I can't be celebrating because I just lost my sister. So I wonder why an elder can't think, for me the family was mocked

And this was the person I left kids with when I was in the hospital with my husband. To be since I felt very bad, As if she was mocking me.
Some people are very selfish, they don't care how you feel, they just want to please their selfs. What the pastor and his wife did is very wrong.

Same way i felt last December when my only blood and younger brother died in a building collapse in Ebute-Metta. I had to stop talking to some people because of the way they did.
Church Pastors are one of the most insensitive. Lost my mum and till date, my cell group people, cell leader or his Wife have never ever visited me to even ask how I am. Even when i travelled to be by my mum in hospilta, thesame cell leader never bothered to ring to even pray with me,for my mum etc. After that, i made my exit from the Church. I got the message- dishonour. Welldone to Wigwe family for thier approach. The Iluyomades will learn and that very Loud Siju has learnt. Hope she can " tone " down her gragra loudness.

I planned my son’s 1st birthday party. My cell group leader lost her daughter in an accident, a couple of days before. I postponed the party until the following year. 😢

That Elumelu own pained me . As for the Pastor and his wife who are supposed to be spiritual father and mother, danced and wined on the dead mother of his spiritual son, daughter and grandson. It is a shame. They love the money Mr Herbert and wife was dolling out to them, but they never loved them. May God have mercy on us.
If it's true that it is Tony Elumelu that brought the artiste to the birthday it shows that the family doesn't have clear Christian core values that can be obviously seen let alone respected by people around them

Is soo sad, growing up ,church was presented to me as a place where you get comfort from pain or grief and a church is a place where God raises people support you and a trusted place where you get shoulders to rest on a place where people get safety.
But today is a different thing.
Am a Christian and am proud to be one but is a shaful thing when you see the things going on in the church today hmmmm.
My advice,
Know God by yourself and look up to God only and put your total trust in Him only. He only will not fail you.

The birthday party, which I consider in all respects an unmitigated tragedy is actually a revelation of a deeper rot, the ugly inner workings & mindset of the couple, pastor Idowu & his birthday party girl. You could pretend for a while & live a lie but not long after, your true character, who you really are would show up.
I pray the Lord uses this unfortunate events to bring the woman & her pastor husband to salvation & save their souls. They are far from God. They are not near anything called LOVE.

My father wanted to celebrate his 70th birthday in February but in January amidst preparations, my sister in Law died, chai, the whole family was pained but we had to shift every celebration forward for now, till further notice.
We have to give her all the respect that is due her.
We will still celebrate birthday later sha in the year.
The woman should have shifted the birthday mbok to maybe 6months later.

I am a christian and have been in church activities for few years of my life. Even if that man was a neighbour, I mean he just had his house beside the church building and he died in this manner with wife and son, they should have had some sense of loss. No amount of dressing this insensitive attitude of these so called pastors, they have actually lost it. I never had of Albert Wigwe until this sad occurrence, but i felt the pain of the family. As far as i am concerned, these duo are among the business men in pastoral circle.

Surprisingly, i didn't really know Herbert until his death but i was traumatized for days...A father, wife and son dying on a day? It shouldn't be easy to move on on the part of those that know them...

Leadership has just been separated from empathy by the action of the religious leaders in question. I hope they learn and apologise publicly. At the end of the day, we are human beings and not immune to erroneous decisions in our journey.

The Wigwe’s were all RCCG spiritual orphans who gave all but were never cared nor protected when they needed it most. Even God himself discern RCCG actions

Sometimes the insensitivity of these spiritual leaders is something else. I was in a Charismatic church, supported them big financially and when I needed a word to be put in for me on an issue, my pastor looked the other way. Well, I left Charismatic and went back to my Presbyterian Church. They stood by me and supported me in prayer, emotionally and psychologically when my mum passed. By their fruits...you will know them.
