Lyrics: www.lyrics007.com/Hanson%20Lyr...
You have so many relationships in this life,
But only one or two will last.
You go through all the pain and strife,
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast.
Oh yeah. They're gone so fast.
Oh, so hold on to the ones who really care,
In the end they'll be the only ones there.
When you get old and start losing your hair,
Can you tell me who will still care?
Can you tell me who will still care? Oh care.
Chorus:
MMMBop, ba duba dop ba do bop,
Ba duba dop ba do bop,
Ba duba dop ba do. Oh yeah,
MMMBop ba duba dop ba do bop,
Ba duba dop ba do bop,
Ba duba dop ba do
Oh yeah, in an MMMBop they're gone. Yeah.
Plant a seed, plant a flower,
Plant a rose, you can plant any one of those
Keep planting to find out which one grows.
It's a secret no one knows.
It's a secret no one knows.
Oh, no one knows.
(Chorus...) - Hudba
I've listened to this song hundreds of times, but this is honestly the first time I've ever really heard the lyrics.
Me too lovely😌
I took weeks just to find this song dam iz good
Hell yeah same here
it took me I think 18 years to find this song
Me too, i can't understand his english on how he pronounced it 😂
Honestly wasn't expecting the lyrics to be so emotionally potent.
@George Tropicana I never claimed they wrote it, asshole.
@George Tropicana Imagine replying to a 1 year old comment to be an asshole
@George Tropicana so they didnt write it?
@George Tropicana Imagine being dumb enough that you think Kelvin Kelly was claiming they wrote it. You new to reading or just got nothing going on upstairs?
Wish I could have seen that guys post
I think it's not a depressing song, it's just simple facts and life advice.
Pay attention to those who truly care about you, because they'll be on your side forever, fake friendships don't last.
If you see this song as lifes facts I dont know what to say except I'm sorry ...
@@bradleyleacock3381 r//mbooooop
In an mmmbop they're gone.
I really like that! Stay strong everybody
Who the Hell said this was in any way a depressing song?
In a Songfacts interview with Zac Hanson, the drummer explained: "What that song talks about is, you've got to hold on to the things that really matter. MMMBop represents a frame of time or the futility of life. Things are going to be gone, whether it's your age and your youth, or maybe the money you have, and all that's going to be left are the people you've nurtured and have really built to be your backbone and your support system."
Hi
@@BitchChill how are you?
That proves they’re also intelligent!🙂
Beautiful❤
Do they still have their hair?
"Hold on to the one that really cares." Wow! They only are kids that time but how deep the meaning was.😍
I think the parents prob helped them
It was written by 13-year-old Taylor Hanson. If he did indeed write it on his own, he was wise beyond his years.
You know it's from the 90's when you can hear little record scratch sound effects in the song
Yeah the scratchng sound is from buffalo gals
Yes, that was pretty cool :)
yeah!! I love that part, too iconic
@@danizoneddd holy shit dude, I couldn’t even drink alcohol when I posted this comment. Now I’m a father of two! I’m old bruh
@@iancredible56 Welcome back, old friend.
I've had this song on my playlist for a month and could never understand the lyrics but loved this song anyway. It's my go-to song when I need some extra energy during my workout. I always assumed the lyrics were some typical thing about liking a girl or something like that. I'm just blown away by how deep the lyrics actually are. Wow, completely unexpected
This song was released literally right after I was born, and my brother absolutely loves it. After referring to the lyrics, I don’t think I’ve found a song that fits my life better than this one! It’s all about figuring life out and knowing truly who to cherish, which is what I strive for daily.
I'm 38 and I still don't bloody know ...
No one seems to stick yet :/
Wow I see what everyone means with how deep the lyrics are
ba dubi dop really hit home
Fuck you😂😂😂😂. I am lmao at this comment!
RIP XD

This is a great song u old hermit asshole
Not every one listens to Christmas music all year Santa damn
AHAHAHAHA
Based on lyrical content, and the message, this is one of the greatest songs ever written. And it's just fun as hell.
Agreed! I remember being a kid in the 90s and this was my favorite song. I never even questioned the meaning, I just could feel the soul and spirit of the song and that was enough 🙌✨
the arrangement was also very dynamic. this is one of those rare pop gems
One of the greatest?!!! You must be very limited in your selection of music
It gets too repetitive for me
@@truthcanhurt4800 Dude hates happiness
Ok, I admit it, I've always loved this song. And now I know the lyrics are meaningful. Thank you for posting this.
This song will always stick with me, summer of '97, summer camp on VHS and this song playing for a camp montage, seeing myself in a five second clip swimming up to the surface and trying to get the water out of my 7yr old eyes ☺️❤️
Awww❤❤❤❤
😐
It takes me right bk to Summer I think I was 13 at the time just one of them songs i loved the 90s
I'm a 21 year old male and I'm not ashamed to admit I love Hanson. They really are awesome.

"In a mmmbop they're gone, in a mmmbop they're not there." Truer words have never been spoken
Aww. Too sad. As soon as they started sounding like men, they all but lost their record deal
I used to hear this song all the time when I was growing up in the 90's. It's interesting how they don't play this on the radio anymore. They need to bring this stuff back
When you realize this song will get you through life in your 30s....
Very true
Amen to that

lol! I always thought that the first line of the song was "yes, the man who was Asian took his life, he only wanted to relax"
same skill as singing the lyrics as me =) Always has to see the lyrics or i got my own version
nmfrboga I always thought it was "Yesterday an Asian took his life, only wanted to relax" lol
LMAO 😂😂😂
Lmfaoooo
omg I can't unhear that now. lolol
Turns out the lyrics actually have meaning and aren't jibberish.
Yeah, the lyrics are actually kind of sad! Basically saying that a lot of people suck as friends because they eventually forget about you lol
j
nice try joker...
These lyrics have meaning? lol
J t how do you not know the meaning it's so clear to me and I'm 12
I remember listening to this when I was 7 and now I'm 19. Still love this song!
Im actually blown away by the lyrics of this song, i had no clue they had so much meaning. I always thought they were just about having fun as a kid 😂

Kyla Fratis hi I'm Kyla, too!
Yup heard it on radio yesterday morning haven’t stopped walking around singing the chorus and bits of different parts of the Melody’s. E.g mm. Bop plant a rose plant. Seed mmmmbop doooo dobop
Thank God the lyrics are here. I'd never remember the chorus :)
I hope that you are joking
This was one of those songs of the 90's. It went from being the song *everyone* was singing and dancing to, to the song not a single person would ever admit they enjoyed listening to. The 90's had a lot of these songs. Now that it's been so many years, I go back to this time in my childhood and remember it with a giggle and a smile.
I don't think many even wanted to admit they liked this song at the time
I remember where I was when I first heard this. I was at a music store listening station (do they still have those?) and this came on. I was getting into it so much I kept playing it over and over. Lost track of how many times I replayed it.
I went to one yesterday, they do not have a music listening station. :(
No they do not. Do they even have record stores? I doubt that even
The meaning of this song has always been so clear to me. Its about friendship, and the ones who will still care 10 20 years down the road. First heard this song when I was 12 years old, and I still love it. Still love Hanson
These lyrics are too deep
especially the chorus
+Daniel Y 😂
seriously lol the verses got me thinking deep then the chorus came and ahh fuck it
Red Croco There is definitely this sophisticated complexity and intricacy to those lyrics, the type that induces great intellectual stimulation, and which puts your brain cells through this gymnastics like workout, acrobatically complex and demanding as they are. For the more I listen to those lyrics, the better, sharper and more creative my mind gets. The Hansen effect!! Similar to the Mozart effect upon one's brain cells. And it's beautiful! Juicy stimulation. Ya baby!!
Red Croco that's what she said
I never knew the lyrics until a few years ago when it popped up on You Tube. While the song is so upbeat, the lyrics aren't so much so when you learn them. For 3 boys to have created this was pure brilliance. It's no wonder why or how they became so popular, and to this day their music touches people wherever they go. I was 38 when this song came out, and had 2 young boys of my own. It was so catchy but I never gave any thought to the lyrics until I finally learned what was beyond MmmBop.
Just discovered this song to day, my first time listening to it. It’s such a good song. The lyrics and message are some of the most true and meaningful ever written. And this song is just so fun and catchy. Probably the funnest song I’ve ever heard.
I can promise you in the summer this will be blasting in my car
Haven't Heard This Song In Years And It Still Makes Me Smile When i Hear It.

It's been 12 more years. Does it still make you smile?
24 years ago I loved this song at 6 years old. Now 30 understanding the lyrics Jesus these kids nailed it without even knowing
I really like this song. Very wise lyrics for their age. ❤️💕😍
Oh how I miss them late '90s days.
Me too I was a kid like them! Miss being little!
"That's the team calling...yours is Dancing Queen by ABBA" - House to Wilson
This is actually a good wedding song lol never realized how meaningful the lyrics were either listening in the 90s as a kid
This song has been heard by me million times since was released back 97 & today is the very first time I'm able to understad it !!its completly deep it got me deep down my heart needless to say brought me back lots memories and tears
God I miss the 90's and very early 00's. Things were so much simpler back then, and not just because i was a carefree kid. I think that decade of years was the last great decade America had and probably will have.
I feel you... this is the kind of music I grew up with as well... Can't we go back to those times...?? Like, I am so glad I was a part of it, but I just feel so bad for all the kids growing up in the world today... Its literally a shit show when it comes to music and movies these days...
Are you actually serious? you realise that everybody from every generation/era says that?...
You're not wrong
Original Safety Pin Lures That's what everybody says about their childhood era.
Goddess of Wisdom not true. so many young kids have anxiety and depression these days, and I really believe it has a lot to do with all the technology and social media... I did not have any of that growing up so that's why I think I had a pretty simple pure childhood. All of my summers growing up consisted of being outdoors all day long. kids these days are so wrapped up in their phones and video games... its really sad in my opinion how much our society has changed...
Am the only one that wants to get in a bar fight while this song is playing just to reflect on how funny it was?
2019 anyone?
As a child I sang what I heard, as an adult I understand what it means..
2021 now XD
2024!
They recorded this when they were so young that they hadn't learned to speak yet.

I was born in 1992. This brings back some great memories. It brings warm and fuzzy feelings.
oh don't you tell me time machines dont excist. every time i hear a song like this one from the 90's i travel right back to then. oh how the times have change! remember the big-ass nokia phones? the ones you could litteraly smash with thor's mjolnir hammer and the hammer would break? or how'bout those old disc players you ran around with and the headphones... oh the 90's what a time :)
Yeah the 90s. Back when people were calling it a shitty decade and reminiscing about the 70s. Good times
yeah, kinda like we do today
*puts up the sound of the modem dailing up for the internet* and phones in the 90s werent that big, early maybe but they got smaller as the decade moved on
oh well that time you also had more "REAL LIFE" friends not just the 1989324 one have today at social networks and never met even one of them.. when if you want to deliver an important message, instead of calling, you would just show up and met the person... I miss that.... now all is done through phones and over the internet... and also ppl used to be more polite and when you were talking/eating nobody was looking away like "Oh i don't give a shit... let me update my Facebook status"
Rusty Blade I just miss the "upbeat" tone of the times of the 70s, 80s, and most of the 90s. I feel bad for my kids in that they are growing up in a really really shitty version of what the world used to be. Where the tone is grimdark and stupidity and they'll never know how great and carefree life once was.
As someone who's starting to lose their hair this song hits a lot different now
I dont know why im listening to this song in 2020 but it really lift my spirit up. So good!
I love this song. I remember my mom playing it in the car when I was really little. So for some reason I asked her today what the name of this song was? I never knew the lyrics lol plus I haven't heard it in god knows how long? She finally told me the name of the group and the song came up. It's fun, and catchy. Now I can't stop listening to it.
Mmmbop is a stylish made up word used for an in instance. The people you had as friends while you were young can be gone so fast later in life. Looking back later in life"now" seeing who is still there.
Taylor confirmed I was gay. He was so adorable. Bought the album in 1997 - some other brilliant tracks on it, particularly "Yearbook'. Even Zac's hidden track at the end of the CD is nice. Lovely guys and very talented x
This song was trending when I was born. Damn it all makes sense now
I'm thirteen, none of my friends know this song when I'm singing it in the hallway. And I say it was before your time, and they say I'm older than you, and then I say well I'm cooler than you so! But the only reason I know these songs is because my mom listens to this kind of music, and I honestly think its way better than any of the music today
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast...so hold on to the one's who really care, cause in the end, those are the only one's who will really care. --In an mmbop they're gone.
I ditched some bad influence friends a few months ago and it was the best decision I've made in awhile. I think this song is about true friends that respect each other, and the fake friends leave in a DDUUUUWOOOP!
