    So, the new battery that i'm gonna put, must be 100% the same as the old battery ? I mean 59ah, 640A...etc ?
    And, what about REPROGRAMATING, when it is necessary and when not ?
    I have jetta 2019 with star stop button...

    The original battery is not an AGM battery here, it's EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) as is the replacement. I would have taken my own advice and replaced it with AGM. But hey.

    • @VirarAutomotive
      @VirarAutomotive  Před 9 měsíci +4

      In a nutshell, you should but don't have to.
      Also any mechanic shop with a good enough diagnostic tool should be able to register/program the new battery. You don't have to go to the dealership for it. The reason for getting the battery registered/programmed is that the car charges new batteries at a slower rate and as the battery gets older it charges it at a faster rate. You need to let the car know that you have replaced the battery so it now goes back to charging the battery at a slower rate. If you don't, it will continue charging the new battery at the fast rate and potentially decrease the battery lifespan.

      @@VirarAutomotive Great info. I changed my battery using your instructions. Went to the VW dealership today for programming and they tried to talk me out of the battery and to have them do it for $450!! I left with no programming and will find someplace else. The battery at VW is $350 alone...I paid $189 at NAPA Auto Parts.

      Walmart and Costco anywhere in US or Canada are good options to get the batteries. Otherwise in US you have AutoZone, NAPA Auto parts O'Reilly Auto Parts or Advance Auto Parts. In Canada you have Canadian Tire, Part Source or NAPA Auto Parts. Basically any auto parts store and Walmart / Costco. In my experience Walmart / Costco have good prices for the batteries.

    • @VirarAutomotive

      Shouldn't be cause of the new battery. Just switch on and off the couple times. Drive it around the block. Switch it on and off, and everything should reset itself.
