It just hurts to see people who really do not give a shit about Star Wars, being in charge of Star Wars.
Been happening for 9 years bro. Welcome to the party.

Honestly I don’t think the problem is them not caring about Star Wars, I think Leslie may legit like Star Wars but she is just a terrible person whose even worse at her job, that’s the real issue.
It's so disturbingly weird.
@Byronic19134 nah she doesn't give 2 shits about star wars she has proven that multiple times
“Whether you’re excited about that direction or not, that’s not my business.”
No, that’s **literally** your business. Your ACTUAL business is entertainment.
Wow… what the hell is she on about and why does she have a job
These people are so fake. When they receive criticism it’s all “oh we don’t care what people think”. But when people praise this garbage they certainly care about that.
@@erikdayne5429yeah they jump to the “it’s the story I am telling regardless” and get actual big mad when fans don’t like the story. They want it both ways.
@@danabney4433yeah I honestly think they care more about diversity and representation than the actual story, and they think the audience is like that as well. That’s why they’re so confused when people get upset with plot holes and the rest of the bad writing. Their attitude is “hey we included a bunch of lesbians so who really cares if we had their stone temple burn down”. They think any boxes they check in terms of diversity are more important than how good the writing is, and they can’t understand when the audience doesn’t feel the same way.

"These are not the jedi we see in the prequels"
Ki Adi Mundi randomly in the background
Somehow she's claiming that the jedi in the prequels followed the force more closely, when one of the points of the prequels was to show how jedi had continually lost their way over the last 1000 years.
Does she know what Jedi are?

Yep. It's literally her job to take the audience on an emotional journey. If we're not excited about it, she's failed. She's just trying to avoid accountability.
She’s an absolute egomaniacal clown. These people are dangerous if given too much power
She’s literally getting this show as a reward for keeping quiet about how Disney supported Weinstein. Its performance doesn’t matter, Star Wars doesn’t matter; it’s just a toy for her to play with the way she wants. No one at Disney is going to care about the results.

The ironic thing is she's on record saying she was afraid to touch cannon and that's why she produced a show well before the prequels. Clearly she didn't understand that affecting the past changes the future. Everything about this show impacts the cannon negatively.

The fact they hired the personal assistant of havery weinstein is shameful. Disney is finished.
They wanted someone that’s good at f*cking people over.
I've seen defenders say "She only worked for him for 1 year!" as if the biggest monster in Hollywood history I guess took a break for a solid year out of nowhere. Sure he did.
Why does her past matter? Was she involved of the shit Harvey Weinstein did? No. It was something that happened years ago that she didn’t engage in because she didn’t know and there’s people like you saying she shouldn’t be involved in something she wants to be involved in because of something she didn’t do? Leslie was Harvey's acolyte.

"the power of maaaaaany"
“The sunlight accentuated his top flab.”
That explains why Acolyte has scenes with weird unnecessary sexual tension.
So was Jennifer Lawrence
I still can't believe Hollywood will even associate with Leslye Headland, given that she was Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant and knew what was going on.
it doesnt really have anything to do with her. She was an associate thats it. why should weinstein's actions affect her future and opportunities? she had nothing to do with what he did.

That doesn’t surprise me at all
All of Hollywood is in on it. George Lucas stayed away from Hollywood, and it's not really hard to see why.
It’s not shocking given hillywood
Leslye tries to sound so insightful in this interview, but she seems to just ramble on trying to convince herself that she gave us such great storytelling. When someone talks a mile-a-minute to try to get their point across, it usually means they themselves have major doubts in what they're even defending.

The whole thing about "It's a birthday change" is completely stupid on their part. A birthday change would be, "He was canonically born on January 7th, but now they changed it to October 28th". That's a birthday change; when it's a change of the day someone was born in the same year! This was having someone be alive 40 years before they were even supposed to be born! Even if the acolyte took place 500 years prior to phantom menace. Yoda would still be alive. And yet he still cannot sense any of this. WHY? Because Disney doesn’t care, that’s why.
Maybe not as powerful in the force yet , just trying to defend this 😂
I agree and also this is my gripe with the High Republic books. It really makes Yoda not as powerful. I don’t get it.
@@jahhghYoda isn’t a 10:08 god. He says many times “difficult to see”. Empire being primary case. Planets where this is occurring are all Outer Rim. Distance clearly a factor. Lastly, prime Jedi time with 10s of thousands of them. A few Jedi die in the Outer Rim. Barely a blip in the Force. Rwoh knows something is going on, but she had premonitions and visions too, and she is more directly tied to the characters. Sol is likely her apprentice. Qimir might also be her apprentice.
@buckseyboy the high republic novels (which I shudder to mention) show Yoda having really great feats
@@Darth_Jawa077 The difficulty seeing was addressed in the prequels that was due to sidious. At the time of the show sidious wouldn't even be around yet. So it should be massively easier for yoda and the council to sense things being off. It's just bad writing. They could of put in a reason but just didn't bother. They could of made it where Yoda was busy with something else which would be preoccupying him which is better then no reason.

kind of like Amandla filming her disstrack in a part of town that her millionaire ass has never even walked through much less lived
The fact that Leslye Headland fundamentally doesn't understand the issue with Ki Adi Mundi, just highlights why she had no business directing a Star Wars project.
Also, the fact that she's only willing to do "safe" Disney approved media...really underscores the corporate cowardice of the Disney/ Lucasfilm operation.
The girl interviewing her is the prime target demographic for their new Disney Star Wars girl brand.
That's what I was thinking, the interviewer is probably exactly who the director was thinking of when they made this shit
I actually think them putting KAM in the show highlights how much they understand the lore and canon. It makes it so we can blame him for a lot of the Jedi’s hubris and arrogance without blaming the entire order.
I think the story is fine and strengthens canon. The execution of the show is another thing though.
Gotta scoup up that Twilight and 50 shades demographic.
It's eerie how these two individuals interacting creates this pretty strong tunnel visioned effect upon the rest of the world around us... Yeah it's sad and I'm experiencing the same thing with a different show rn. Can't just have a show made by and for people who are into the original story/writing. The shows always end up in the hands of people who wear their political agendas and culture on their forehead.
Everything is political to these people and it has to be shoved down everyone's throat at all times. It's why subs dedicated to random hobbies like knitting on Reddit are taken over by politicels. I used to say the ' woke mind virus' ironically but it's now a pretty accurate description.
On top of that, why call this show a mystery when it's so obvious that we already knew who Smilo Ren is?
What political ideas?

Excruciating stuff.
Look at the Dislikes and you'll see why.
That because she wouldn't have the guts to be interviewed by someone who knows like theory. She probably screens interviewers to avoid the questions that need to be addressed!
How do these people gets these jobs.....holy crap
To be fair, I think this way about Theory's takes sometimes. He keeps saying like the thousand years of peace thing 'no Jedi died' or something like that and...even in the old canon that wasn't true. Not even remotely. The first time the Jedi have encountered any conflict in a thousand years is in Episode 1?
There were countless stories, comics, novels covering all sorts of crises the Jedi encountered and had to contend with. The Stark Hyperspace War, the Yinchorri Uprising...Jedi would always run into possibly fatal situations, it was the nature of what they chose to do, the role they chose to play. What there weren't, for sure, were a bunch of Sith running about out in the open.
I feel sorry for the assistants who had to assemble all those legos specifically for this interview
You kidding? I'd do some pretty questionable stuff to get paid to assemble some Lego sets 😂
The line "He was seduced by the dark side of the force" is a line from the Bible. It references the Book of Judges and the Book of Kings and how people in power become seduced by their own wicked hearts because they can do what they want. The cycle continues throughout history of how Good people become bad people mostly by their own selfishness.
Haven’t read Old Testament yet but this really insightful 💯
When I saw the thumbnail I thought for a second it was an interview between Theory and Leslye
Lesbi (former secretary of Harvey Weinstein) would never opt in on an interview across someone with a brain cell count exceeding 10

If she can get her garbage published then I should have no problem at all considering I know I'm better at storytelling..
you better be a woman and gay
It’s never what you know but who you know. So you can write the greatest book of all time but if you do not network and reach out to like minded people to help push your work then nobody will care.
Like if you are writing comics have you reached out to Josh from Den of Nerds or Eric July both of who have published independent comics?

And Leslie gained a ton of power by pulling chicks for Harvey Weinstein to grape.
Well, you have to fill it with woke shit, and throw a lot of gay porn it, not sure if you want to go that far to the dark side😅
Is your content about homsexual relations, gender swapping (just one direction, male to female) and race diversity? And when I say diversity I mean no white males in it, unless it's an already well established and beloved character and you trash the hell out of his story and personality.

“My go to person when I have questions is Pablo” That explains so much about why this show is what it is.
I would have just gone to Dave over Pablo
Pablo is a gross woke loser. Who actually hates the old SW. He's a major problem there.
Bingo. The dude who loved the last Jedi was in charge of this shows lore.
You should ask them to put Ron Weasley into Fantastic Beasts as a full grown man, then secretly change the info on his Wiki page to include something ridiculous like "He had a spell caste on him where he ages in reverse for a hundred years then ages normally again once he becomes an infant and that's how he grows up with Harry Potter"
Hahahhaahahaha brilliant
I thought they did something like that with Professor McGonagall’s age and it was hated too.
It would be hilarious if they added in far right messaging in Harry Potter. Have a great trailer showing Harry's kid going to Hogwarts. End the trailer seeing the sorting hat and it's red. That might be enough for them to complain, but I hope they go the extra mile and make wizarding great again. They might finally realize how excessive it has gotten
@rawswisher43 well she does look young in that so it's reasonable. Ron needs to look his grown self lol
@roberthoddinott9160 I mean technically if you think about it, everyone is allowed to conceal carry a wand, which is the wizard equivilent of firearms. Hogwarts is pretty right wing.
It occurred to me that a good explanation for the Ki Adi Mundi problem is: "what if General William T. Sherman showed up in a Revolutionary War film?"
Then I realized understanding that explanation requires one knowing who Sherman was and what the Revolutionary war was.
Not a safe bet with these writers.
You should be forced to take a Star wars quiz on canon and Eu content and get at least an 90% to be allowed to work on the franchise. If you can't name all 7 lightsaber forms no job
People like Leslie Hedlund treat sexuality like a religion. It is absolutely a core defining characteristic to them. That's why they create the character around it instead of creating characters with actual depth of character.
sad but true :/
I totally agree and because of her sexual preferences in life nobody at Disney will stand up to her because they're probably afraid she will sue them
It’s why she’s so fixated on the phrasing that “Vader was seduced by the Dark Side.”
I love how she does this interview on the tiniest youtube channel because it's the only one whole will glaze her the whole time they're interviewing her
...or they're related in some capacity.
If you look into the channel:
The Mary Sue is the premier destination for entertainment geeks, female or otherwise. Coverage includes movies, comics, tv/movie fandom, and other cool stuff.
The channel is directed towards female geeks. Also the term Mary Sue is defined as "a character archetype in fiction, usually a young woman, who is often portrayed as inexplicably competent across all domains, gifted with unique talents or powers, liked or respected by most other characters, unrealistically free of weaknesses, extremely attractive, innately virtuous, and generally lacking meaningful character flaws. Usually female and almost always the main character, a Mary Sue is often an author's idealized self-insertion, and may serve as a form of wish fulfillment. Mary Sue stories are often written by adolescent authors."
The Mary Sue channel aligns with the values and direction that Leslie has, so it makes sense why she agreed to do a interview with them, because she knows she wont get her shit wrecked during the interview.
If you watch interviews of Dave Filoni. During the writing of the Clone wars series, Dave would always call George to make sure he wasn’t messing up. Star Wars needs somebody who knows Star Wars and cares about Star Wars to supervise those noobs.
You should invite her to and interview, like, respectful conversation but pointing out the issues with the acolyte, and asking what drove her to make those decisions and stuff. Like facing more lore oriented fans. I mean, the acolyte is the first Star Wars content I dropped
She would NEVER. She needs the interviewer to be primed to make her look good. She's very protected.
No. She should not be legitimatized with the interview. Everyone already knows she is a massive idiot and ignorant of what any lore or details of Star Wars. She can zEFFrem Cochrane out of here.
@@1morecuppo Of course she would never, but it would be neat to send the invite anywaye
@@KoalaTContentguaranteed she'd just have something sexist to say about him.
I couldn't finish it. I've been here for all of Disney's stuff and enjoyed all of it in spite of their glaring shortcomings. Tales of the Empire, however, left me pissed off, and I expected more of the same with the acolyte. Somehow, it was worse than I thought. These last 2 shows have shown me that they truly need to stop making Star Wars now. It only gets worse from here. They are purposely ignoring fans and sending opposite messages of true Star Wars, so why would I want them to make more?
I like that she's equating the Sith, the embodiment of evil, with the Rebels and the counter-culture movement. Makes sense.
The funiest thing is the room she is sitting in. That is just some backroom at the studio or somesuch. I had that shelf unit when I left home because it was the cheapest piece of crap I could afford. It's a broom closet and they threw a bunch of toys on the shelf.

Don’t shoot the messenger, but to acknowledge Theory’s encouragement; We should be careful about going for the low hanging fruit and attacking anyone’s appearance, etc. As a certain orange man once said “I never attacked him on his look - and believe me there's plenty of subject matter there." 😂 Let’s judge based off of character and actions and she is completely morally bankrupt on those. That’s grounds enough to go after her, because while people can alter their appearance, ultimately we look how we look, she doesn’t have much control over that. Now, the abortion of the show that she’s created, that’s a different conversation entirely and I’m thankful Theory does a great job covering it 🫡

“They’re (Jedi) operating with no oversight”
Like your eye doctor who gave you glasses that don’t fit, so you gotta keep fixing them?
My problem with this show is that they are trying to drag the Jedi through the mud. Making them extremely irrational and gray in their motivations. Also they make them look absolutely dumb, and they just don’t act like Jedi.
Exactly “hey let’s kidnap some kids and then lie about it” like who TF are these people and why are they wearing Jedi robes and calling themselves Jedi
I agree - if that wasn't the case I'd be way more on board. But making the Jedi the bad guys in a time where they're supposed to be in their prime is literally the exact opposite of what I was hoping to see.
I think really it’s a anti religion trope. The Jedi are the patriarchal bad guys and the Sith are the real good guys
It sucks cause they absolutely could've accurately highlighted the flaws of Jedi culture; the oppressing of emotions, the arrogance, the child soldiers, the ban on love, etc. But the Jedi in this show aren't following Jedi culture at all, so it's just individuals being lousy instead of the system they're in.

I literally can’t put a coherent sentence together to describe my frustration with this show and the people that made it
The people that wrote this show can't write a coherent sentence either, so at least you aren't alone.
It helps if you don't use the word 'literally' for every sentence.
@@inigo_bpc hahah noted!
Lesbo Headlamp couldn't put a coherent sentence together either.
That breakdown of Anakin’s selfishness just shows how much you love Star Wars and know so much about it and Leslye knows so little about it. Honestly I feel like most fans know more of Star Wars than she does. 14:05
The bit explaining about Anakin's selfishness was very well said.
It’s puzzling why Hollywood insists on cranking out media where every character is morally bankrupt, unappealing, or just plain annoying. This trend reflects a misguided belief that moral ambiguity equates to depth. In reality, it often results in a disengaged audience left with no one to care about or root for.
There was a time when media offered a clear distinction between good and bad. Heroes were admirable, villains were loathsome, and the moral lines were boldly drawn. Sure, it might have been less "realistic," but it provided a satisfying narrative clarity that is sorely missing in media like The Acolyte. We don't need every character to be a paragon of virtue, but a little more effort in creating someone-anyone-worth investing in wouldn't hurt.
The Acolyte epitomizes this unfortunate trend, delivering a story devoid of any likable characters, leaving viewers with a sense of detachment rather than engagement. Hollywood, it’s time to reintroduce some clear-cut heroes and villains. Let’s bring back the days when audiences could leave the theater feeling something other than apathy.
it is not puzzling, it is because hollywood is a small club of morally bankrupt scumbags and because they are all hired based on already being a part of the club, they think everybody in the world is as disgusting as they are
I would like to take a moment sir to let you know that I appreciated this video. You were honest and that makes a whole world of difference.
The entire nerd shelf behind her , id bet my life is production design.
I was more focused at the single grogu figure in the other ladies background and got all I needed to know that no one in this video other than SWT knew what they were talking about.
I’m convinced now that the writers and producers of this series were never exposed or ever part of a school play or even a high school drama production. It’s like “we never did that before, so we’ll do it here.” The series really feels like a bad high school play…
As a chef, I could say then if someone doesnt like a dish i make i could just say "you like, you dont like, thats not my problem"
6:15 Calling a Sith lord a part of the counterculture is like calling a Choas Lord in warhammer 40k the resistance when they are pledged to 4 Dark Gods and are sacrficing children to summon demons. Makes no sense at all.
Hollywood's moral compass in a nutshell.
Love how she pauses for a full 20/30 seconds between what shes saying to try think of things that sound like a starwars thing to say and makes it sound like if i told my 6 year old to tell me about starwars 'uuuuummmmmm' 'eeerrrmmmmm' 'hhhmmmmmmm' 🤣🤣🤣
That's just how modern western women talk.
That Picky Blinder image of Thomas Shelby at the end of the video summarized very well ur feelings toward The Acolyte 😆
theory ask headland for a interview, so you can explain these points to her directly
As much as I’d like to see this, I doubt it’d change anything. People like Leslye just like to hear themselves talk and don’t see reason and logic lol.
They better not touch kotor. EVER
She wants to do it.... We must stop them
It’s only a matter of time…. 🤦🏾♂️
Alas, they're running out of things to ruin, and it's one of the few wells that hasn't been poisoned yet. Time to abandon ship.
The Old Republic is next you just know.
The Sith were Jedi who discovered the Big Fun Time of the Dark Side. So why can't Jedi in another far off sector be different. "What Yoda does not know won't hurt him" is one of this sector of Jedi's saying.
"I love a wookie, they're my favourite characters in all of Star Wars". There's... one Wookie character out of all the films and shows, not counting the Christmas special and the ones that appear for 5 seconds in RotS.
Not to mention that wookiees are a species in SW, not characters.
"Twi'Leks are my favorite characters!"
"Zabrak are my favorite characters!"
"Humans are my favorite characters!"
Best Wookie of all time is Itchy. They sure loved their Holographic movies ;p
How dare you forget Tarrful :P
One in the animated shows but he’s barely important lol
I bet she she doesn't even know the names of Chewie's family.
6:28 - The Jedi were out of control due to **lack of oversight**?! What does she imagine changed? The Senate passed more regulations? The High Republic New Deal?
What possible body in the empire was going to provide the oversight that could have constrained the Jedi? The whole point is that they were a priestly class capable of the feat of controlling themselves as individuals and as a organization. This is what makes Anikan's non-compliance such a enormous deviation.
Just started watching this dude. It's nice that he cares about Star wars this much.
What's crazy is if you go to the original video, the amount of comments that are defending this show are wild. But I shouldn't be surprised since they actually follow that channel to begin with.
Yes some people actually support representation and new stories breathing new life in a new franchise. Not everyone is a far right basement dwelling incel like your ilk attacking the show.
It never matters how awful shows or movies can be. There will always be those who love it. Makes no sense. But it’s true
They’re all bots.
Yeah I don’t see how anyone can defend this. It must be entirely because they like the diversity and “themes”, because even as a self contained story, it’s contradictory and nonsensical. Indarra was killed by a dagger but Osha survived a crash landing from space. Even if you don’t care about the show breaking canon, it breaks its own logic constantly. Mae says she’s gonna turn herself in, and then when a Jedi tries to arrest her, she tries to kill them. Aniseya turns into an evil cloud but then when Sol stabs her she says she was gonna let Osha go with them. They’re searching for a vergence in the force by combing the dirt with metal detectors but they don’t notice the massive fortress carved into a mountain. Not only does this show not function in the Star Wars universe, it doesn’t even function as a self contained story.
Revolution is in the eyes of the children they need the kids for their weird "culture" LOL
It speaks volumes that Disney/Lucasfilm staff will gladly do these types of interviews with media outlets who are attuned with their woke content/agenda. Yet when other outlets/fans want to ask questions or provide some constructive criticism or feedback, they profoundly refuse all the time.
It’s Leslie not Disney who would make this choice and it doesn’t speak volumes it’s common sense. Of course she’s going to go on shows that crawl on their knees for her. She also does it knowing the rest of the shows will just clip it and talk about it for content so she doesn’t have to go on other shows.
I am not surprised at all by Disney/Lucasfilm's behavior politicians and celebrities do it all the time.
You should first learn there at the far right what woke means (it's a positive) and then offer what your ilk calls "constructive criticism" akakl unadulterated bigotry racism sexism homophobia and transphobia
Oh and the comments on the vid man they truly have won they have the children
I was having such a hard time making a star wars dnd campaign... until I threw out all the Canon, changed sisters of dathomir to Mystics of Mandalore, and the story exploded into potential.
Disney needs to finish Lucas' story and jump into the future (or present) i.e. A long time ago in a galaxy far away.
She’s probably trying to prove her “interest” or “love” for Star Wars. With all those Lego sets behind her.
The whole shelf screams of "I need props to fake my personality for this interview"
Ep 1-3 is Its about Anakins fear of letting go. Control is just the feeling masking fear.
They could have just called his character "Cerean Jedi." But they had to shoot themselves in the foot by naming him. The only Cerean Male in the history of Star Wars to live 137+ years.
Also, the fact that they went there and actually called Qimir "Sith" and made it absolutely CLEAR they have NO IDEA what they are, or the ranks of Sith.
Since the Games are considered Canon now, as stated by Disney, SWTOR draws out the path of a Sith. From Initiate/Hopeful to Acolyte to Apprentice to Adept/Lord to Darth.
Acolyte skips the Initiate phase altogether, meaning they just thought the name sounded cool and didn't even care about the rest. It encapsulates the entire productions feelings towards Star Wars as an IP/Franchise. They only care about what pleases them. Not about the constraints of the Universe/Lore. Which can also be seen in how they handle the 10 day travel time it would take the Jedi to go from Coruscant to Nal Hutta (Nar Shadda) when they go to pick up Osha in the first episode, and they're talking about a murder that happened LAST NIGHT.
The only stretch wider than the plotpoints of the Acolyte is the distance between Rachel's eyes 👁️ 👄 👁️
The glasses to make her "look" like a nerd, don't help either. No way she's wearing those windshields for any other reason.
😂 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Well done, lets make fun of people's physical features.
@@darthrevan9858that isnt Rachel... but yeah imagine people wanting their glasses to make them look a certain way... since forever. What a shit argument.
@@MartinSedgewick I took it as a compliment. If her eyes were close together she'd seem more predatory.
Her admitting that even as an adult she didnt understand what "seduced by the dark side" means is just insane 🤦♂️
Being seduced by the dark side has never meant it literally looks sexy or attractive physically (look at Anakin when he very first turns, the team working on ROTS intentionally made him look sickly and pale), the story (and george lucas) has always said its much more like a drug or an addiction to it.
Just like people can be seduced by addiction and inner demons. Not *literal* seduction, but seduction as in being slowly strung along that path and being deceived into seeing benefits to it until its too late.
Absolutely. I would add that literal seduction _could_ work too if done properly. Seduction can be overpowering just like a drug, so it follows the dark side could prey on those weaknesses. But you would have to make it clear in the writing that this is a dangerous thing. Also because kids are watching you would have to make it _suggestive_ , NOT explicit. Just put enough into the subtext so that only adults would understand what was really happening. Even the prequels did (or tried to do) that. Done properly it can be very a powerful and relatable warning.
Of course that’s not what Leslie Headland did. Her scene was straight out of a cheap erotica novel and was extremely cringy.
She lives a lifestyle that celebrates kink. 4 out of 5 times, that's how she perceives life.
Head, shovel, shovel head? Spade head? Head spade? Shovel head is fine but I think a spade is more accurate than a shovel because a spade is more square than a shovel
It's not about a birthday at all. The whole point of the prequel trilogy is that the Sith are finally coming out of hiding to orchestrate their ultimate plan of taking over the galaxy by instigating the clone war and playing from both sides to destroy the republic.
The Phantom Menace has the Jedi say
"the Sith have been extinct for a millennium"
"I do not believe the Sith could've returned without us knowing"
" hard to see the dark side is ."
The Sith in the Phantom Menace confirm that they have been in hiding for that entire time when Darth Maul says "at last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi, at last we will have revenge."
When Qui gon says "I have encountered a vergance in the force"
"located around a person?"
"A boy "
The point in the Phantom Menace is that Anakin is a unique thing in the force that you don't see every day. The Sith are something that you do not see every day anymore.
The acolyte series runs headfirst at 1000 miles an hour into every plot point from the Phantom Menace like it's a fucking brick wall ! That is the problem.
Not only is a vergence in the force not an oddity, it's happened to an entire planet that is supposed to be lifeless after a huge hyperspace disaster.
Witches have created two force sensitive beings that the Jedi are now aware of.
The problem is the story in the acolyte diminishes the intelligence of the Jedi and makes you ask
"how in the hell could they have missed all this?"
It goes back to the skit that SWT did where Palpatine is trying to seduce Anakin.
"what? Two?" Lmao
When JJ blew up Vulcan in Star Trek 2009, it was a huge controversy up until the point that you realize it's an alternate timeline. No conflicts with the established lore.
If this show came out and said this is an alternate timeline, it would be the same thing.
But the fact is they didn't pay enough attention to the source material in its own internal logic.
They are using the concepts of Star Wars like a vergence in the force, but they are ignoring the fact that the Phantom Menace treats these things as a mystery and an oddity.
It's jarring for somebody who is going to watch the Phantom Menace after they see the Acolyte.
This interview makes me understand what Leslie is trying to do much better and actually appreciate what she's trying to do better.
The Jedi are Haughty assholes without oversight in the high Republic era. OK fine. But the fact that I'm getting this from this interview and not from the content itself is a huge issue.
If Manny's character is supposed to be the good guy who is the rebel, that's great. Don't set this story 80 years before the main story where the roles are completely reversed.
Thank god there is only one episode left. This is what happens when you put a clueless person in charge of something that they know nothing about
One episode of this season... watch this show get 4 seasons but Kenobi and Boba Fett only get 1 😑
*God.
Thank you theory for pointing out these keys points and discrepancies.
It's not only disrespect to George Lucas ideas - it's disrespect to everybody that loved Star Wars. The arrogance of these people is only surpassed by their incompetence. And just because someone else that is obviously incompetent as well made them in charge for Star Wars makes them no authority for the fans!
As someone who works in the creative industry and in Tech...I can easily identify people like Leslye Headland.
She's very adept at selling her ideas and presenting herself as intelligent by wearing the big goofy hipster nerd glasses and talking about obscure references to things people know little about.
But in actuality she's not skilled or talented herself. She's just a "pitchman/woman".
An "ideas" person.
Anyone who has worked in the creative field or studied with creatives in school, knows these types of people.
Their only talent is their ability to talk.
They can also check certain boxes. Perhaps hired less for their talent and more for their identity.
Copying this post. Great response.
She has always come across as any know it all college aged film snob. Usually we grow out of that phase. The fact that she is a 40 year old woman just shows how doomed Star Wars is.
YO, your analysis of Anakin's motives is just *chefs kiss* perfection!
Headland must be happy, she probably put 179 million from that Acolyte budget into her own personal bank account... At least that would explain why the show looks like a high school play at times
That's quite insulting sir
Please apologize to highschool plays
Oh she put that money somewhere alright
@@Karou812 Amandla Stenberg impresses me though, it takes skill to keep the same friggin facial expression for 7 (soon 8) straight episodes
Of all the high school productions I've seen, I'd say it's most like the Fiddler on the Roof adaptation I saw which was set in 1930s Germany. This was when I thought the crooked cross was just the logo for the Indiana Jones bad guys. But I'd imagine anyone with any actual connection to the source material would've been quite offended.
I hope an interviewer asks disney sometime "why do you hate star wars"?
Dude is because she hired herself to be an interviewer
