Texas state champs already play 6 rounds if they win it all. Cali teams have 3-4 rounds to win section + another round of regional, then state title game. No way CIF lets its teams play a national tourney. They barely allowed a state championship format in the first place lol

Bosco and MD are in the same league so they have to play every year. And then they have to go through one another to win the Southern Section (at least over the past 5-6 years). De La Salle decided not to particpate in the transfer game like MD and SJB. As a result they are not getting the athletes they used to. The schools in NorCal are catching up.

They ranked #1 because Mater Dei lost a lot seniors since last year so they're a young team compared to Bosco, Bosco has alot of returning starters and added a couple of ranked receivers in the transfer portal #3 DeAndre Moore wanted to play with his future college qb (Louisville commits) they have a handful of Cali kids coming in for the 23 class

Texas teams are local. They don’t pay like these California schools
Bosco players are local too and it costs each player $15,500 per year to attend.
The texas school is a community school not a recruited team. California football is garbage
