  • What is an AAC block?
Types of AAC Blocks and Its Advantages | UltraTech
Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) block is a low-maintenance precast building material with excellent thermal insulation and durability. The heat-insulating properties of AAC blocks keep the building cooler and prevent outside heat from entering, resulting in significant savings on air conditioning costs.
Is AAC blocks stronger than brick?
What are the differences between AAC blocks and red bricks ...
The fly ash used in the AAC blocks is a by-product so it is beneficial for the environment to use fly ash in the block. The AAC blocks have higher strength and durability as compared to the red bricks and are always in high demand due to their eco-friendly and long-lasting properties.
    Disadvantages of AAC Blocks
Since the material of AAC blocks is porous in nature, they cannot be left exposed and require a protective finish in order to prevent deterioration over time. AAC blocks are require more care while handling to avoid breakage as they are brittle in nature.
    Is AAC block waterproof?
Can water penetrate AAC walls in the rainy season? In AAC, water does not pass through due to discontinuous air pores. While in red clay brick, due to high capillary suction, water penetrates through it.

What is the lifespan of an AAC block?
AAC blocks Longevity of 100+ years, surpassing structure lifespan according to building design rules.
Can we use AAC blocks in the toilet?
Similar to brick masonry, it is not advised to have a wall made of AAC Block without stiffeners, which is the reason AAC blocks are not used for working toilets and bathrooms. After every three-meter length, a stiffener column must be provided.
Can we put tiles on AAC blocks?
As Adhesive to install tiles: AAC Block Adhesive can be used as a thin-set adhesive to install tiles on AAC Block/Fly ash brick walls. Use a suitable notch trowel to achieve desired thickness of adhesive for installation of tiles on the wall.
