Great insight! Thank you for making this video. Cool shots!
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you got something out of it - thanks for the kind words, Roland!
Iâve had my MA2 for a little over a month now and havenât tried FPV mode. I honestly didnât know it was a feature on this particular drone but decided to search after I saw A2S FPV footage. Good to know itâs there in the MA2 and thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.
Glad I could help! It's a fun feature, but pretty difficult to master. Hope you have fun trying it out. Thanks for watching and commenting
This is really useful! Thanks!
great language in describing the tips for achieving certain moves. thanks man!
Thanks, Aaron! Appreciate the kind words, talking about technical topics is tough sometimes, glad you found it useful! Thanks for watching and commenting
Just Got My Mavic Air 2 Yesterday, trying to get my licence asap so as to fly and this was just incredibly amazing tips as i dint knew where to start off.
Nice tips. Very helpful, definitely hit the like, and I subscribed. Very useful!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and the kind words
THANK YOU FOR THIS!
You're welcome! Hope you found the video helpful!
Great video bro. Cant wait to try this again. First time I tried I got scared and freak out. Lol
Itâs a wild ride, donât get too aggressive right out of the gate. Practice in wide open places and build up your confidence for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Well explained! Thankyou! đ
Glad it was helpful! FPV mode is fun, but takes some getting used to. Thanks for watching and the kind words.
Meant to comment yesterday but great video!! I got a long exposure tutorial for the MA2 coming today. We gonna have to get out of CLEVELAND to go find some dope peaks to surf with the Mavic
Thanks, Terry! Not too many peaks around here, but at least we have the lake! Looking forward to your long exposure tutorial today
Awesome đ. Thank you so much for the tips .
You are so welcome! I hope you were able to take a few things away from the video, thanks for the kind words and watching.
Aerial Guide yes . We never used the fpv mode . Thank you so much for the reply . Best wishes dear.
Thank you for nice tips
You're welcome - hope you enjoyed them!
Thank you for the tips. I really enjoy flying in FPV Mode. Hug
Thanks for watching! It's a fun mode, but takes some getting use to
thank you for this tip
Youâre welcome! Hope this video was helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting
As usual well explained m8
Thanks for the kind words and watching!
Useful , thanks. I have the A2S and have been trying to get more comfortable flying FPV mode but it's a lot harder than it looks. Also found that with obstacle avoidance 'on' you'll never get the true FPV experience, but at the moment I don't have the balls to turn it off and not good enough a flyer to go Sports mode unless in a really large open area with no rocks or trees!.
Would definitely recommend a wide open area for flying fpv for the first few times - itâs very different to get use to and you definitely need to get use to flying in fpv before taking on more ambitious shots! Thanks for watching
Thanks Keith great tutorial tho I am too new and inexperienced to try this.
thanks for the great video!
Had a great time making it, thanks for the kind words and watching!
can you adjust the speed of the gimbal following ?
Thanks for this tutorialđ
You're welcome đ hope it helps you make some great FPV footage! Thanks for watching and commenting
I really need to try this mode out.
It's a fun mode, but takes some getting use to! Thanks for watching and commenting
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very intelligently put
Thanks for the kind words! Hope you got something out of this video - thanks for watching and commenting
Will try with my dji spark
Thanks fir sharing
My pleasure - thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review. Quick question. What are your recommended stick sensitivity settings to use for flying in FPV Mode? Or do you just leave your cinematic settings as they are? I cant find anything on this concerning flying FPV with the Air2. Thanks in advance.
As far as sensitivities go, I use "Normal" for regular flying, or "Sport" for faster flights. I don't customize anything in between. FPV mode with a Mavic takes A LOT of practice to get anything usable. It's a tough mode, but it's a great feeling when you get the shot!
Great video my friend thanks for making this video big help to me as I was flying my mavic 2 zoom in fpv and had lots of fun with it and I had it set up in 1080p 30fps and the footage was ok but know I'm going to try it in 24fps and see if the footage is any better after seeing this video thanks for sharing bud really enjoyed it big like from me bud đđđ
Youre welcome and glad it helped! It's tricky to get the hang of FPV mode for sure but with time and practice you'll get the hand of it!
Thanks a lot. Very nice presentaion.ïŒăăSomeday I'd like to try FPV mode by Air2.
You should! It's a fun mode, but make sure you're practicing in a wide open area. Thanks for the kind words and watching
Thanks
You're welome, Gary. Hope you found it useful! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Ok but do you fly in fpv with only a smartphone monitor ? is it safe enough ?
Sweet video
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting
Superb
Thanks for the kind words and watching!
Thank you for the video. And do I need specific gimbal settings to get better FPV video? I mean the yaw and pitch speed and smoothness in the advanced gimbal settings. Thanks again.
It depends on how you want to move your gimbal. I like the slower speeds when doing more cinematic-type shots. Faster speeds for fast moving subjects. I typically always add a lot of smoothing to each of them though. Maybe I'll make a more in depth video going over gimbal speeds in the future if thats something you'd be interested in? Thanks for watching
@@keith-knittel Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it. And yes, I'm looking forward to see the in depth video about gimbal settings. Thank you.
Do you get any interesting automatic results if you activate FPV and active track?
I tried to use focustrack with spotlight at that pier, not as flattering results as I expected - but it tilts slightly. I didnât try in sport mode though! Maybe that will work a little better? Thatâs for the great question and watching!
hi,
what mode should you use to make fpv,
normal
sport
or
tripod?
thanks
You can use normal or sport mode, tripod mode moves too slowly to rotate the drone (and the camera). Thanks for watching and commenting
No more "straighten the horizon" comments!
I wish I could heart this comment twice. Genuine laugh out loud moment!
@@keith-knittel haha, I'll keep quiet :)
I've been trying to capture some FPV footage but was unable to get the courage; send some zeal lol - Thanks for an awesome video; too bad you only do electronic reviews!
Fpv footage with Mavic drones is difficult to master! If youâre looking to get some practice, go to an open field with good visibility, stay above 50 feet (or whatever obstructions are around you) and practice! Also, what other videos /reviews would you like to see? Thanks for the kind words!
Hi, thanks for your video.
i have been trying to use fpv mode lately. but its confusing because sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work.
does it make difference when you select fpv mode while the drone in the air or it supposed to be on ground to activate it.
i have also tried facing the gimbal towards me and shuffling between follow and fpv mode just to check the movement of the gimbal but it stays at the same level ( horizon)in both modes.
does supposed to move along with the aircraft or it stays on the same level ( horizon)??
i m new to drones as well.
i have tried fpv mode nearly 15 times but it only given me fpv mode look video twice.
please let me know what i am doing wrong.
FPV mode is TOUGH to get right. You have to be flying the drone and making turns aggressively enough to adjust the rotation of the drone in the air. Go in a wide open space, or fly 100 feet over the tallest obstruction in your area, turn on FPV mode, put the drone into sport mode and fly around aggressively (turning while flying straight) and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't matter if you're in FPV mode before you take off or in the air. It's a really tough mode to get usable footage at first. If you're new or not comfortable flying aggressively, stick to follow mode until you build your confidence. Fly safe and have fun! Thanks for watching and commenting
@@keith-knittel thanks for the tips.
i have followed your instructions and it worked.
thanks once again đđ
SO, in FPV mode does the drone actually tilt or just the camera?
Whenever your flying, the drone will tilt, but the gimbal corrects and stays level with the horizon. In FPV mode, whenever the drone tilts (like turning for example) the camera will tilt with the the drone and not stay level with the horizon. Thanks for watching and the good quesiton.
Art Last the camera is locked except for the up down that is still stabilized so itâs basically a 2 axis gimbal
Have you tried this FPV mode since the latest firmware update ? will not work for me or others, going back to old firmware it works again,,,,,,
Which firmware version are you running?
anyone tried it with the mini 2?
Great tip, and honestly something I was looking for! Thank you for adding value!

Glad your enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching, subscribing and commenting!
its kinda HARD to transition from acro fpv to "angle mode with gimbal'd and constant altitude" dji on fpv mode. too many things to remember, esp when youve been flying fpv for years. just got my mini3(nonPRO) recently, havent tested how good the 'maintain altitude' is esp when craft is tilting side to side. bottom camera is very small. but id give that a try sometime. đ
This is definitely not even close to a "replacement" to FPV drones, but can give you some interesting angles from time to time. It's TOUGH to get good results from the FPV mode - but kind of nice to try out every once in a while. I still need to get a "real" FPV drone!!
my mavic air 2 fpv mode doesn't work.. i install fpv gimbal mode and it still follows (like the follow mode function)...what do you think is the reason???
Hey there, if you're in FPV mode, flying from side to side will have the camera move with the drone. Are you sure youre in FPV mode? Are you on the latest firmware? I'm sure FPV mode is on the first firmware, but maybe there was a bug with the MA2? I don't have a MA2 right now to test, but it was working last time I flew mine on the latest firmware.
â@@keith-knittel i am not sure about the bug..cause i just bought my mavic air 2 a few weeks ago...
about latest firmware, when I check the firmware status..it always says "your firmware has been updated"...
my firmware 01.00.0600...
by the way, thanks for the explanation
@@keith-knittel one more thing... when i try my dji fly on mavic mini, the fpv works
Did you build your fpv?? What do you think about the new dji fpv??
I havent built an FPV drone yet because I havent had the time to sit down and put a list of parts together and learn to build it yet. I've seen the DJI FPV drone but not sure Im going to buy it. I like the idea of breaking stuff and being able to put it back together myself and I don't think the new DJI drone is like that. It does look like a fun drone though! Thanks for watching
Can mini 2 do this?
Hey there Bao, the Mini 2 does have FPV mode!
Iâm hoping DJI has a firmware update that allows customization of gimbal rotation in FPV. Perhaps Iâm missing something...
Some expansion on the fpv mode would be great. Right now itâs pretty hard to get footage reliably with the mode. The mavic air 2 is almost too good at flying straight in the current fpv mode
@@keith-knittel did they change anything?
@@user-dh5fp4gw1b Not that I'm aware of at this time
North shore of Lake Erie, or South shore? Anywhere near "Erie"?

@@keith-knittel North East, east side of Erie here.
low contrast video in studio?
Hey there Michael, I like the low key look for my talking head stuff. Is that what you mean?
@@keith-knittel yes that's exactly what I mean;) Doesn't look so nice to me :P
@@ritterfoto That's okay! I experiment a lot with these videos, if you stick around I'm sure I'll have some "properly" lit videos sooner or later. Haha. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Just build and fly a fpv drone, you can get started for like a 1/3 the price of a mavic air 2
I wish I had the skills to build a custom fpv drone! I already had the mavic air 2, itâs not the same by any means but itâs all I have for now. Any recommendations for a starter fpv drone?
@@keith-knittel depends on what you want to do with it. If you want good footage i think a cinewhoop is the goto. Records Video on a sd onboard and you fly with the "crappy" analog video. If you just want cool and nible flying, i can recommend the tinyhawk freestyle 2. But you cant mount a GoPro in it. If you want a 5', the nazgul is really good. It is even available as digital or analog.
for budget controller i also can recommend the betaflight lite radio 2. Together with the eachine ev800dm googles this makes a nice, relative low budget starter kit. Ofc you can spend more money on a better controler/googles or if you want, go straight for digital with dji googles.. but the digital bnf drones will be more expensive + the quiet expensive dji googles. On the other hand will the video, you see on the dji googles be HD and less noisy. What you want to buy really depends on your interest + budget
For anyone looking to get into FPV Drones but not sure where to start, check out Joshua Bardwell's page. There is a learning curve and it can be very frustrating but Bardwell's channel is a treasure trove for FPV info.
Will definitely be checking it out, have been wanting to get into fpv drones. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@keith-knittel Rotor Riot also has a great playlist titled "Learn to FPV" that breaks down all the components needed to get started. Also, Oscar Liang has a website with tons of info. Feel free to reach out to me if you get stuck and can't find a solution.
Are you using the goggles?
I do not use the goggles, I'm keeping visual line of sight on the drone while flying. Thanks for watching and commenting!
well I tried but don't really like the footage(
It's such a tough mode to get use to and get usable footage. Definitely have to plan out your shots and cut out the wobbley footage in post. Can't just record and start going. It's a tough one!
Well, i must admit that you are so handsome and very good teacher! A lot of kiss would be enough to say thank you!
I'm 100% sure this is spam, but shucks - consider me flattered.

What do you mean?
I fly real fpv with my Armattan quad
Iâll have to check it out! Been wanting to build an fpv drone for a while now!
Just my invest in a cinewhoop or freestyle with dji camera. Less of a gamble. Add a GoPro 7/8! And get better footage than this.
Iâve been really wanting to build an fpv drone, flying looks so fun, but I need to invest the time and money into figuring it all out. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@keith-knittel lots and lots and lots and lots of time for practice. I went from Mavic to FPV and it was a mind f$ck with the sticks. However, after learning FPV and hopping back on a mavic, I felt like a master pilot lol
@@wdubduece8913 I bet! What did you build or buy? Do you use any resources to get into FPV flying?
@@keith-knittel I've built all of mine so far and I've got 6 built. All have different purposes. Joshua Bardwell is the best guy to follow! He's helped me out so much.
