Since there's absolutely no way you would know this, the part where Scooby gets bigger than the planet and tries to punch Courage is based on the Wyzen fight from Asura's Wrath. Bear in mind thats the first boss fight in that game--a boss that eclipses the entire planet. I advise you to look up the boss fights in that game because it's WILD.
Look up? He needs to play them. He needs to EXPERIENCE THEM. If he has time. Because I know that's the biggest factor for why he doesn't personally watch or play more things for himself. So I guess looking them up for a video is a compromise he has to make.

Doing the guy a disservice there. He does solve the crime, _but_ usually tricks the murderer into giving him the vital piece of evidence he needs to nail the case shut.

Colombo was fairly unique in detective shows, as pretty much every episode opened with the audience seeing the murder/crime take place; we all know whodunnit, and how it happened. The focus of the show was on Colombo's detective work, and how he pieced the answer together.

It's actually insane to get a modern Death Battle draw. Because all the other draws; Goomba vs Koopa, Chuck Norris vs Segata Sanshiro, and Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie were more "Joke" draws while this according to their own logic has no winner. And honestly, I don't really mind that, neither good doggo dies and we got an incredibly well-animated fight

Technically, I know Eustice never killed Courage, but it sure felt like he was trying to at times.
This is my favorite Death Battle of all time. It practically means the world to me since Scooby does mean the world to me, I loved it.
Same here! Courage is incredibly important to me to the point I bought a painting based on the Quilt episode. My brother own dvds of Scooby Doo and has pretty much watched 90% of Scooby Doo(ain’t touching Velma. Yikes)
These are very important doggos for a lot of people and I’m very glad both survived at the end. They deserved it.
It’s insane that this is an episode that can take the title of “best episode ever” while Bill vs Discord exists in the same season. The quality of this season is too damn high! Death Battle can’t keep getting away with this!

The Scooby-Doo Cyber Chase movie is the fourth and last of a quadrilogy. Zombie Island being the first and easily one of the best of the four. That's the Scooby movie that scared me, especially with it having quite the body count for a G-rated film.
If you wanna a Scooby show to really sink your teeth into, I recommend Mystery Incorporated. The show's practically a love letter to the franchise with its own dark twisted overarching story added on top of the whole thing.
Yeah, I too was scared of Zombie Island as a Kid. I'd also say Cyber Chase is my favorite of the 4 Movies.
I actually remembered to look at the credits this time. Hell yeah, Courage is voiced by Edward Bosco. You (and Kirby) would know him best as Striker from Helluva Boss (post-Norman Reedus).

Fitting the next death battle has The Doctor since Doctor Who's 60th anniversary is this month, 3 specials celebrating it. The Doctor might not seem like the an obvious choice for death battle, especially since except for 1 or 2 versions of him he's not really a fighter. However, when you start digging deep, its abundantly clear that you DO NOT want to invoke The Doctor's wrath

I did enjoy Courage the Cowardly dog growing up, but I have a much deeper fondness of Scooby Doo. I’ve been watching various versions for years and quite frankly to me it never gets old.
But my favorite HAS to be Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. It’s probably where I feel like the characters are at their strongest and are involved in a really cool overarching story. And that iteration of Fred gives me life. And I think the Chief of Police is Kronk from Emperor’s New Groove and Joe Swanson from Family Guy.
That being said, MAN am I happy neither pooch got Merced. If it wasn’t for Steven Universe vs Star, I’d say they didn’t have the heart to end either character if they were just too good. And then I also remembered Omni-Man feeding Homelander his heart.

There are at least two shows where the entire premise is Scooby-Doo meeting various celebrities and pop culture icons. He's met Batman multiple times. That dog gets around.
Anyway, the song is called "Forever Terror Night", which itself is heavily based on the song "It's Terror Time Again" from Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. (Which, yes, was notable for said zombies being 100% real.)
That song has got to be my favorite of anything produced for Scooby-Doo ever which makes sense since that was probably my favorite Scooby-Doo movie.

7:30, Mystery Inc. has teamed up with various Ficitonal Characters in TV, Movie and Comic Book form like Wonder Woman, The Flash, Batman & Robin, Magilla Gorilla, Johnny Bravo, Frankenstein Junior and The Impossibles, Dynomutt, Superman, Krypto The Superdog, Dick Dastardly & Muttley, Penelope Pitstop, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Top Cat, and many more.
Guy in the third door is Columbo, who starred in a lengthy series of murder mystery movies from the 1960s to early 2000s. The films were unique in that the killer was the protagonist, but would slowly unravel as the local police detective, Columbo, slowly figured out what they did and backed them into a corner of proving themselves guilty. Most of them are very well done, IMO
Columbo is here because he became a meme in the Death Battle community last year, due to head researcher Liam Swan championing a potential Death Battle between him and Light Yagami from Death Note. The matchup got a lot of overexposure, was stuck in limbo between meme and serious consideration, and ended up making a lot of folks on edge about even hearing Columbo's name. He also had an easter egg in Bill Cipher VS Discord.
He's actually appeared in four or five death battles so far although you can only really see him in three of them. This one, Sponge bob vs Aquaman and as you mentioned Bill Cipher vs Discord. The other two are Sauron vs Lich King and Gojo vs Makima but you really have to look closely in order to see him since they're really hard to see.
How was this fight animation more anime than Gojo vs Makima? You wouldn’t know this because you skipped it but this is a legitimate question.

While "Scooby-Doo! Where are you?" is his best known show, they have made numerous shows with him since. The most recent (excluding "Velma" since he does not appear in it) was called "Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?" which would have him and Mystery Inc meet with various celebrities, real (Jeff Foxworthy) and fictional (Wonder Woman). This was not the first time either, as some decades back, there were "The New Scooby-Doo Movies," which had a similar concept. That is where the Harlem Globetrotters clip was from.
Also, since 1999, they have been making animated Scooby-Doo movies of various quality in story and animation. One of those is "Straight out of Nowhere: Scooby-Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog." The most recent I have heard about has Scooby meeting Krypto the Superdog.
Scooby and Courage both mean so much to me, (to the point where I rewatched all of Courage a few months ago) that I didn't want to see any of them die...so I'm pretty happy with the results.

by Death Battle's own rules, nothing really prevents Scooby from destroying the Dark Matter Meteor itself instead. He knows what it does and where and when Courage got it, so he would reasonably target it and go back to destroy it or just straight up break it then and there. And unlike Scooby Doo, Courage can't actually manipulate time to counter this. He just resisted aging because of the alien with the racket spinning Earth into the future and back again, that's not the same as manipulating time himself.
So in that sense Scooby proooobably should have won, but who could possibly be mad at this result instead haha

That is Columbo, a blue collar homicide detective who's a chill guy, but he's actually a shrewd genius. In almost each episode, the viewer knows how the crime was committed and who did it (to which feels like the perfect crime) that is when Columbo steps into the picture. He seems like a friendly yet dopey investigator sifting through the crime scene and just as he leaves the scene, he says *"Just one more thing"* and then asks a critical key question that cracks the culprit's alibi (a literal "oh shit" kind of moment).
It's less of a "who done it" and more of a "how he catches them" kind of mystery show. His show ran from 1968 - 1978 on NBC and then 1989 to 2001 on ABC (less frequently) and then his show kinda faded into obscurity until 2020 that he suddenly became popular again and started circulating through memes for a younger crowd. Hence why he showed up as a cameo.
Scooby doo and guess who (shows actual name) is really good, the entire show is about cameos with famous celebrities, they even did an episode with the actor of luke Skywalker himself

Alright so its time for some data roundup. Most of this was mentioned by other commenters, consider this a compilation and shout out to the originals.
This is the third full on draw Death Battle has done with the previous two being Chuck Norris vs Segata Sanshiro and Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie. While there were other Death Battles with odd results, Wiley vs Eggman for example, these three are the only ones where the result was a draw or undefined. This is also probably the first time where the reason for the draw was simply because they couldn't kill each other, not due to a complete match in abilities.
You'll note that their feat sections are labeled "What he'll do for a Scooby Snack" for Scooby and "Things he's done for love" for Courage, a clear reference to common phrases surrounding some of their feats.
The song is Forever Terror Night by Therewolf Media featuring ChicknamedDD for the vocals and draws heavy inspiration from Its Terror Time Again, the main song of Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island which released by in 1998.
The connection between the two are obvious, they are cartoon dogs who, despite being absolute scaredy dogs, routinely deal with a lot of scary things to help their loved ones often with all kinds of ridiculous shenanigans involved. Also, as they mentioned in the Death Battle, the two have crossed over with each other in the past.
During the door sequence, a Scooby-Doo classic, the last door opened up to Columbo, a detective character from a series of the same name who was actually on the air about the same time the original Scooby-Doo series was. His main trick was putting things together and tricking the perpetrator into admitting their guilt using a wide variety of disguises and pure annoyance.
The next battle is the Doctor from Dr. Who vs Rick from Rick and Morty. Dr. Who is a long running series on the BBC that first aired back in 1963 with the person playing the Doctor changing pretty regularly with the series recognizing 15 different iterations of the Doctor with 31 different actors having been the Doctor over the years with them using the Doctor's regeneration ability to explain the switches. While these Doctors are all technically the same being, their personalities can vary a bit. David Tennant recently reprized his role and appears to be the version they are going to use which makes sense. You already know Rick so I'm not going to bother going through his whole deal (not a fan of that series.) The connections are that the two are hyper intelligent and experienced beings who take a much less intelligent and experienced side kick along on various adventurers using their travel devices (the TARDIS for the Doctor and the Portal Gun for Rick) wherein they deal with all kinds of weird crap that is often solved by their quick thinking or fancy tech or both.
Oh and I'd probably count this in your win tally since Courage did technically win.

In All my Years of Requesting which Characters I wanted to see in a Death Battle, Never in a Billion Lifetimes would I put Scooby-Doo and Courage the Cowardly Dog One and Even Before and After this was Announced I question myself who would Win because it also hit me that both of these Cartoon Cowardly Dogs are Broken in Power Level and Cartoon Logic, it’s like putting SpongeBob and Bugs Bunnt in a Death Battle and will never End except for a Draw, anyway this was a Really Good Death Battle and knowing this ended in a Draw it Makes Sense also seeing Eustace Suffering in a Torture Box for Eternity as I have been waiting for Year to see, I’m with Boomstick Animal Haters makes me feel Sick.

Wanna hear a crazy fact: the only reason Scooby Doo exists in the first place is a moral panic. I am not joking.
Back in the 60's, parents got up in arms at the violence in superhero cartoons (because apparently Johnny and Bart shouldn't learn to punch evil criminals), and began protestong for a much less violent show. As a result, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears created Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred as the unlikely friend group of Hippie, Nerd, Beauty Quesn and Jock for that friendship message, gave them a talking dog for extra fun for kids, and had them use critical thinking to solve admittedly basic mysteries. And to this day, it is the ONLY positive outcome to a moral panic I have ever learned of.
I suggested this Death Battle and I'm still upset that we never got to find out who's Top Dog.

For the next fight, the only advantage I see Rick having is his portal gun being a better on-hand mobility option compared to the TARDIS. The Doctor is at least as smart as Rick, but likely smarter, and has lived for thousands upon thousands of years. While they don't like to fight, the Doctor still participated in the Last Great Time War, which lasted a long time and DB removes any personality traits that prevent characters from fighting and killing. The Doctor also has the Sonic Screwdriver, which would allow them to interact with and disrupt Rick's tech, which I think will be their ace in the hole. If Rick does manage to kill the Doctor, they can just regenerate, and the Doctor's regeneration energy is powerful enough to destroy starships without issue. The only way I can see Rick being able to have even a chance to figure out how to beat the Doctor is if he has interacted with a parody of the Doctor, and given R&M's nature as a show, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
There are ways of killing a Time Lord, but they're not all that obvious. Rick will have his hands full trying to not just discover a method, but utilize it, in an ongoing fight. I look forward to seeing him try, but I don't have a lot of hope he'll succeed.

Still, not as creepy as some of the stuff Courage has to deal with. Now from what I've seen of the live-action movies, there is some uncanny valley stuff in there.

I am right there with you buddy Courage freaked me out so much as a kid I use to hate anything scary and I couldn't sleep afterwards I think the episode that scared me the most was the Zombie movie episode not sure why but maybe it was because they were actual murderers.
