It's 41 years to be exact. Their first album was in 1978. I just saw them last night in Long Island, NY. They played this one. They came out with a megaton of energy.

What amazes me is not that David doesn't sound like he did 35 years ago but that he sounds like THIS 35 years later. After everything he's gone through vocally he should be washed up but, as he's proven here he is far from it....Love it!!
I think the issues he had in 2012(?), maybe 2009(?), where he was forced to stop using his voice completely, let alone sing, damaged his confidence. I think that's part of the reason why he can sound like a strangled cat these days when he tried to scream. But if he sticks to that midrange tone, where he still has power and dynamic range, his voice is so expressive. I would have preferred him to have retired Whitesnake after the 'Purple' album and tour as that would have bookended his career as a rock artist perfectly. Then some nice laid back blues-soul albums similar to 'Northwinds' to see him into retirement. But I guess he's having too much fun so good luck to him.

This is the song I've been waiting for. It sounds unlike anything else they have put out but it's got that 70's early 80's feel. I can imagine GH harmonizing with DC it's that good.
Brilliant aint it? Bands have tried to recreate those eras with little success, but this new album seems to capture it's vibe, yet modernize it superbly too. If there were another 4 or 5 bands doing stuff this well we'd have a reborn rock era \m/

Wayne Mello Well, we both agree they are both great. I remember when David was in Deep Purple. Remember Stormbringer? Then David was in Whitesnake and I saw the video Slow and Easy and I was hooked on his voice even more and the band. I always regretted not seeing them live.
