I just purchased the Shell Pink version. Only been playing it a few days but am super impressed! I got the package with the gig bag (also pretty nice). With shipping and handling it only cost $307. Killer deal!!
I have modded my HB SC-Custom to CTS pots with a push push to replace the push pull/Switchcraft switch and Fishman Fluence Pups, it already had good tuners which are Grover and the nut is fine, I was thinking of replacing the bridge but could not find enough of a fault to justify it, Im happy with this guitar and it gets played regularly.
Great video demonstration !! I never saw a review so complete and with all details we need to know . Thank you .
Thanks so much! :)
Great review. Really covers all the sounds and your playing is inspiring. Thank you.
Great demo/review on this guitar mein freund! Got mine (in black) a couple of months ago, and in combination with my Fender Mustang GTX 100: big fun! More than decent jazzy tones from the neck pu, and 70's rock sounds from the bridge pu. For anyone who's doubting about getting this guitar: go for it!
Just ordered the Shell Pink one! Sounds way better than expensive Epiphone.
I'm getting 2 of these....one I'm keeping blue and mostly stock, but the other one I'm getting the shell pink one and refinishing it to one bridge pickup and Silver Sparkle finish-!
Very nice review Dude, I think I made my choice! Thanks a lot!
Wow what a stunning guitar!! I think those Tesla pickups sound amazing!!! Definitely getting one of these! 👍
Received mine today. Same color. Oh boy, a wonderful inspiring instrument and plays like a dream. Great build and finish quality. I only lowered the action a little bit. Very nice clean sounds on my Marshall 8240 Valvestate. Pups are quite hot but the controls are just excellent. A real winner and unbeatable value for the money. Worth every penny!
The pickups are rated in the Tesla webpage as 7.2 kohms neck and 8.x in the bridge. That's far from hot. They are actually less hot than any Epiphone.....or a Seymour Duncan 59 for the neck one for that matter.
@@jhkuno88 Sure you're right but I wasn't looking into the tech specs but rather sound wise compared with some other guitars I play. After all it's the sound that's important and I like it.
Congrats mate. What finish is on the neck? Is it satin or gloss? Cheers.
@@JamForThought Same as the body. Some kind of 'bright satin' - not gloss.
I've found the bridge pup quite weak for what I'm used to. Definitely an upgrade in the works.
Well done sir! I subscribed
I don't even play guitar, but this one caught my eye, want it really bad 😩
Thx for the detailed review and sound check. I sold an older instrument of mine and don’t have any LP style guitars. Thinking of this one or Xaviere LP, or Grote. Your thoughts?
have the pink version, love it
Hi,this review made me to buy this guitar. What is the height of pickups to get best tone?
Great video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Which Harley Benton has more balanced tone SC 550 ii or SC - DLX ?
Danke Dir!
Sounds great man! I’m thinking about getting this or the SG one in black
Thanks! Haven't tried that one before but I guess it will also be great!
Hi man, great review. I'm gonna buy it, but I can't decide between gloss and matt finish..are you sure that the back of the neck is not sticky on the gloss one? That's my only doubt
Thanks!
I still have the guitar and play it pretty often, the neck is really not sticky - it is very comfortable to play!
I mean we have heard guitar players play guitar.
We want to know if this one is any good.
We want to know if there are sharp fret ends and if the frets are level. Is the fretboard dry, Do the frets need polish.. How are we certain that these are stainless steel frets?
What is the depth of the neck, the nut width in reality?
What is the resistance of the pickups? Are they AlNico or ceramic?
Do the tuning pegs jingle are they loose does the guitar stay in tune?
Killer guitar for sure
Wow, great review man!
But now my problem is which one to choose between this and the sc-550 that I was going to buy...fuck!
This one has got superior fretboard wood (rosewood) vs pau ferro...but the nyatoh body is really cheap vs mahogany/maple top of the SC. Also humbuckers are different Tesla models.
Can someone help? Maybe someone who played both
G'day. Please tell me what's your rig set-up on the 'crunch' part. I mean xtra cruncher pedal used
Thanks
Hey!
I used the AMP1 Mercury by BluGuitar, for the Crunch sounds in the Vintage channel. And for the High Gain sounds in the Modern channel :).
Hope that helps!
I am probably going to buy one after Christmas. Anybody tell me if there are action adjustment problems? I like lowering my pickups to at least 4mm below the strings and to have the low E (6th string) about 1.5 to 1.7 mm resting above the 12th fret for action; with the high E (1st string) 1.3 to 1.5mm resting above the 12th fret and a relief of about .2 mm at the 7th. If their is a problem lowering the bridge to this point then the guitar is kind of a piece of pooh... (Really got my sights set on the Daphne Blue Les Paul or SG shaped guitar with the matte / satin finish. Anybody have a preference as to why chose which one? Gonna look up opinions on it now. All the guitars I have now are Les Paul or tele shaped...)
Well... I did some basic research on which is better; the Les Paul or SG. People don't like this SG style's strap to being on the of the top "horn". Weight wise the SG is uppose to weigh less than an Les Paul; however it is not the case with the SC-DLX and SG-DLX. Apparently, they both weigh the same. A Gibson SG meets the body at the 22nd fret. This one is at the 16th, just like the Les Paul style. The SG is suppose to be a brighter guitar, however, the Harley Benton SG guitar is a little thicker than a normal SG, giving it more bass. I suspect adjusting the action on the bridge is easier on the Les Paul style Benton too. So... Unless someone can convince me, will probably buy the Les Paul style Benton...
Very cool!!!
Thank you :)

Gut! \m/
Thanks :)
Hi, is this guitar suitable for blues?
Yeah it works for blues as well :)
@@SRguitar Thanks!
👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you!
Locking tuners would have been nice.
Yeah would be a cool feature as well, but just to change strings quickly. For tuning stability they wouldn’t make sense :)
It looks a lighter shade of blue on the website.
Yeah that's right. In my opinion it looks way better than on the website
Unfortunately, they don't make this color anymore🙁
I will jump now
Dayumn
Thanks :)
