The biggest issue we are gonna face is Monopoly.
You forgot to mention that. There could be a time when we are all addicted to the contents and services and when jio increases price or asks for something else, we wont have any alternate option. Thats gonna be a problem.
Jio is already started to do this with cellular prices, it is increasing 30% at each quarter, as it specified in it's earning report & Obviously Airtel also increased and already most started complaining as most can't afford the Monthly Data rates, Monopoly is never go for consumers, but cheapstake aukat log will not realise it as & Again fall for another Corporate grift, It's not new for the country anyway 😅.

Disney+ Hotstar is now standing only on Marvel and Star Wars contents.
They make minimal originals and they even buy less number of Indian Movies compared to Prime.
Even Disney and Pixar movies are failing. In that they refused to extend deal with IPL and HBO.
At this point I am only subscribed to them because of Marvel 😅.

When jio entered the market, the telecom networks that weren't able to update themselves to the latest technology fazed out automatically and the rates went down. Now we are in a position where Indian technology and infrastructure are being used to build 5G in the country. I hope the same type of revolution comes once again in the country through JioCinema

Indeed Jio has once again disrupted the OTT space & have certainly made their counterparts uncomfortable with this move. However it’s the content that keeps an OTT alive, which one can only determine in the long run but for now this move has definitely got Jio the much desired customer base.

Jio cinema has audio issues in some devices as in my case ipad and my lg tv is not able to give good audio output

I saw somewhere that jio is partnering with discovery WB to showcase their maxx content in jio cinema in India like how hotstar has disney plus . if that happens it will be only hotstar and jio in the market with netflix like VI in telecom .
@TechWiser I just now installed April security patch update in my Poco F4 and to my surprise along with the security update Opera Browser also got installed and also I am not able to uninstall it like what is this!! Why do phone brands do this.
Earlier phone brands used to provide bloatware apps in new phones but this is new to me that now the bloatware apps gets installed along with a system/security update. And nothing was mentioned in the details of the update. Totally Disappointed :-(

Like most of us take prime for fast shipping and free delivery and prime assurance specially in India.
Prime Video is doing many great things specially for indian people, like it has more content for Indian People in regional languages, many great web series and shows, many movies including latest releases and older gems, all at 1500 per year ( I pay just 750 for that as they also have a youth offer).
So yes prime is not competing anywhere in this and it also offers many features as compared to Netflix and Hotstar Iike Music, Gaming, Books, Video, shopping all in the same subscription.
It's really about Jio vs Netflix and Disney
Prime compete v nhi kr payega. I choose blinkit, zepto over prime shopping and ott under broadband plan + spotify.

For me it really depends on the content. I thought I'd stop my netflix but i still didn't because there are so many movies and shows i need to watch. Prime has the best plan but i stopped it just because i didn't watch much of it's contents, and i don't shop online much these days. Shocking right!
Everything's fine but comparing with 2022 digital official numbers is not feasible IMO.
2022 edition numbers were paid subscribers and now its free users, it'll be interesting to watch that when jio will introduce fully paid plans what'll be the number then.
My guess for problems in hotstar subscribers count - they removed pay extra 100rs to get subscribtion along with recharge ( at the wrong time)

Netflix is a different, they can shutdown Zee 5/Hotstar/SonyLiv by acquiring local movies. Netflix display and collection from different countries is unmatched by anyone, for movie buffs u can see movies/drama from any part of the world(from English/Korean/French/Spanish ..)

I'm using Jio 4G, and getting 3G speeds out of it, with this I can't think that it can beat any OTT.
I have heard that jio have low speeds in some places. In my area i get 25-30 mbps consistently and sometimes it goes upto 40 mbps in 4G. I'm not trying to prove Jio is the best but just telling the facts!

jio does charge less than airtel, i know i use both sims daily. but partly that's because airtel and vi are there as competitors.
look at how Apple charges developers to publish apps on the appstore and how you have to pay considerably more for services and apps if you are using iOS and MacOS, that's what a monopoly does.

JioCinema is worse than Hotstar for IPL, atleast for me. I have a pretty fast Airtel Fiber connection and still JioCinema starts buffering occasionally. Never faced this problem on Hotstar and whenever it lags, it's no longer live and there's a little LIVE icon misleading you
