  • Amtrak 151 crosses busy Campbell Av in Roanoke with bare safety warnings and a no horn zone. Motorists obey signals this time.

      Yes sir. An outdated, weak red lights nearly invisible in daylight. See my older video of 2 near misses here.

      We need a quiet zone like that at a crossing in my city.

      A quiet zone with no gates is suicide

    You aren't kidding when you say Busy Campbell Ave. In the 2 minutes it took the train to cross, it created a lot of traffic. Wow! 🤯 Great video BTW!! 👍🏼

      My previous video here showed runners just feet away from the locomotive. Two minutes! Go figure. Thanks, again.

    I thought the engineer would sound the horn with the train moving and the old man not paying attention walking across the track with the train approaching, even with the train moving slowly in a "Quiet Zone."

      Although it is a no Horn city I agree that should be an exception.

      @@donaldstokes484 From what I know, an engineer in this type of no horn zone is allowed to sound the horn in case of a possible emergency like what we see here with this old man. This man needs to pay much more attention in the future crossing RR tracks. I see this at times on Virtual Railfan in the downtown area of Flagstaff, AZ. when the college students cross the busy streets when approaching Amtraks and freight trains are near the train depot. It is then that the engineers sound the horns to warn of the dangers of them getting hit and killed. 😳

    Odd to have no crossing gates - but the lack of horn is particularly unusual...

      There are so many train movements in the heart of Roanoke the city adopted quiet zones throughout. See my “near miss” video.

    At the end of the line for the day does the crew stay in a hotel overnight?

    • @donaldstokes484
      @donaldstokes484  Před 27 dny +1

      Yes they do. The inbound 151 crew then goes back out on 134 so a very short hotel stay.

    Why is this a no horn Zone there's no gates to stop the cars it's pretty stupid if you ask me

  • @thomasshebat2351

    This is just a setup for somebody to run in front of the train
