Agree totally. I saw and met them back in 85. Robbin was truly a gentle giant. Very talented all around.
I was asked from Bobby to be his Drum tech for a few shows in The Bay Area. He gave me their address of rehearsal in Redondo Beach. My friend & I walked in and I noticed Mick Brown drum set in the rehearsal space. So Dokken must have practiced there as well. Met all the guys and this was the song they started out with. At this time the album was not out yet but soon to be released. But I remembered the beginning of it. They played it just like the album. Because of that Its a favorite.
Ratt, Ozzy Osbourne, Early Heavy Metal Def Lepard, Motley FN CrUe, Dokken, Riot, DIO, Black Sabbath With Ronnie James Dio As The Lead Singer, Joe Walsh The Confessor! Was Still Killin It On "Rock Wars" on the radio. What happen to Rick Wars? When they played two heavy metal tunes & call voters voted for the winner that night before bed! Those days were cool WTF!

Closer to My Heart
The first time I listened to this song was in 1988, by radio. I recorded it in a cassette. The guitar solo impacted me so much, mainly at the beggining.
This song doesn't even scratch the surface of all that is great about RATT !!! Endless great songs... On and on and on

Yes it is, all songs kick ass there's no weak songs on the whole album. By the way the went to Puerto Rico for the out of the cellar tour and they played the whole album, what a night and huge party too..good times Rattn roll, 🤘

Ratt was more consistant band & had more songs that were loved by both genders. Crue was a mess! Band wise! Their selfishness I think HINDERED the music! What xpukd have done out of that band would have been way greater than it is. RATT STILL DOING WHAT THEY LOVE! WHICH IS STICKING IT OUT FOR THE FANS WITH ONE ANOTHER, INSTEAD IF A BUNCH OF GREEDY SELF SERVING DRUNKS LIKE XRUE!
It's all about the music not the money. I remember seeing quiet riot one day in my town of Bowlung Green KY in a small club of about 75 people & that was because they lived to entertain as people pleasers & I got a front stage seat or stand to one of the greatest front men for 10 bucks & drink were a dollar then back when I drank, cuz that liquor is what almost killed me & has many. Ratt did the same stuff! Realism & live for community music & playing & hanging together as family
