"Punji sticks for the neighborhood kids." That is hilarious! I can't seem to get ahold of one of the larger WTG knives. I was on the May 3, 8:00 PM drop for the Puzon Wilderness Bowie. I put it in my cart and I went to go pay for it and it said "Out of Stock!"
I mean you can use it for a camp knife. Though when you look at its size, the canted handle for better thrusting & the fuller it kind of strikes me as a fighting knife.
That's what it is but since I can't stab anybody or fight anybody with it this is kind of the way we do it lol. The maker has a background in all kind of arts especially in the Filipino arts and jujitsu so most of his knives have that feel if not that look as well
Love a Big Bowie looks like a very capable knife and makes me think of Danial Boon out on the prairie with a Kentucky long rifle and a coon skin hat on and one of these big Bowie on his side. Brother you and Megatron have a nice Thanksgiving. Great review.
Hey Brother! The knife looks like an outdoors Machine! Love the handle! Slope / angle of the handle looks great for ergonomics (I have a broken wrist that messes with me if I have the wrong handle). Design looks great as a cross between a chopper and a Bowie! Happy Thanksgiving Dave

It seems to just work on the big stuff and then can carve and slice off layers of wood. Man it works well on the ratchet straps and you have done a lot of cutting on that stuff. @@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors You showcase some wonderful edged weapons. As a Marine, I was supposed to be a rifleman first. But my favorite weapon was my KaBar. I was never without it. I still have my original issue blade from when I joined the FMF in 1971.
I'm thinking about making a Bowie actually I've this alloy plate I really don't know what the steel is I just know it's been outside for years and no rust no tarnishing
Very nice knife. When outside it is better to burn round wood, slit wood just burns too fast. I allmost never have to split wood for a fire. Even after weeks of rain.

@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors that would be a good one. Different ways to start a fire and that people dont have to use 2 hours to split wood first. I think alot of "bushcrafters" on/and CZcams watchers think that it is the only way. It was not a "normal" thing to do before CZcams. And people need real deal info these days.
I typically don't because it's a feel thing. Meaning im heavy handed. A true tip test to test the strength of the knife is fine but I don't want to break a knife because I did something incorrectly. I'll work on one for you though I have no problem doing that

I have an Amish john and I've tested the tip (not like that other guy on CZcams snapping tips lol ) I've done a couple of wobbles with her and she takes it like a beast . The chunky tip really reinforces it . The blade Dynamics and design helps it thrive under pressure. I don't believe she would snap because you can feel that the steel is flexible but I do believe that if she did bend out of place a little that all you would have to do is stick it back in and bend it back.
