    We’re never going to get things totally right the first time. So, imagine the pressure on the casting director when they made Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
    They needed to invest in actors that would grow with the roles. It was the ultimate blind casting. Luck for them, it worked out pretty much as best as it could have. The Binger wanted to take the time to spotlight our favorite house and those students. Yes, we’re talking about Gryffindor and not Ravenclaw; shocker, we know. This list is all about Harry and his classmates known for all sorts of triumphs and misadventures. Trust us, there are shocking differences we can’t wait for you to hear all about. Of course, you’re going to need to watch the video to see them.
    We’re talking Neville’s big glow up, Lavender Brown’s controversy, and the Patil Twin mix-up. It’s all here on the latest from The Binger!

      Iirc, that was explained away in interviews for the 1st movie, when Harry saw his parents in the Mirror of Erised; he'd envisioned his parents as being the same age as everyone else's parents, as they would have grown and aged.
      It would have been weird for Harry to imagine James and Lily as 21 year olds, and weird to go from these 30something looking parents to very young adults in photos and memories.

    • @mikshinee87
      @mikshinee87 Před 2 lety +10

      What is better: to have a stellar cast like Gary Oldman and Alan Rickman or to have the adults be the same age as in the books and therefore not employ them? It's a no brainer to me. No disrespect to Daniel, Emma and Rupert but their acting was amateurish almost through the entire series, only getting the hang of it all in the final instalments. Some clips of their 'acting' in this video make me cringe - I guess my nostalgia is wearing off. And I've seen brilliant child acting in "Stranger things", for instance. Anyhow, Lily and James being a little older made HP more modern to me. Nowadays people in western countries rarely have children at 21. If they do, they either come from the working class and have to grow up faster or had an "accident" while partying. None of my college friends had a kid at 21, that's for sure.

    I don’t think anyone minded them changing Emma’s look, she played the roll really well, and Hermione was supposed to glow up anyway after Goblet of Fire anyway, plus it sells much better. It would of been worse if they tried to hurt her image and make her ugly, it wasn’t her fault that she was the most attractive of the cast. I think Bonnie played the look of Ginny right but the movies made her so awkward, which was unlike her character. But the weasley family was perfectly casted. Regarding the Weasleys and almost all of them missing their freckles: It's actually really difficult to create realistic freckles with makeup, and both stage and screen makeup has to be a lot thicker than everyday makeup, so it doesn't melt under the heat of the lights, and to cover blemishes to give the costumers a cleaner canvas to work with. Freckles are technically blemishes, and all but the most noticeable ones will disappear under the makeup used.

      True. Arthur was described as "balding", however in the movies he got more and more hair (because they started using wigs for both him and Molly).

    Missed the fact that during the first book Harry was very skinny also, with jet black hair that would grow faster than average, which means that between scenes they had to let Daniel keep longer hair and shorter in others. Daniel has brown hair and it was always well cut and groomed for the character (except of the 3rd and the 4th films). Now we can't blame Daniel for being too short for the last films, but there's no replacement for him.

    Ginny was my fave character next to Snape... i'm really sad about what they did to her in the films! I know Bonnie could pull off the character because she is 100% book Ginny.

    Bonnie made a lovely Ginny and she was gypped in that role. Side note: Ginny was supposed to have bright brown eyes, but who's nitpicking?

    “Seamus” _is_ pronounced “SHAY-muss.” Irish words and names have different pronunciation rules than English ones do. The characters in the films pronounce it the correct way like the narrator in this video does.

    Honestly, I didn't like what they did to hermione. They changed her so much. I don't blame Emma Watson though, as she played hermione perfectly in the first two movies; she had a perfect bossy attitude. In the following films, she was miss perfectateverything, constantly held a weepy expression along with a wobbly voice; she always seemed like she was going to burst into tears.
    She was also only supposed to appear 'attractive' in the goblet of fire ball and the last two movies.

      Hermione in general lost most of her weaknesses in the movies and in exchange Ron was completely ruined.

    You have to remember that hermiones parents were dentist, so it's highly likely that as she grew up they would have fixed her teeth 😀

      True but compared to other girls like Ginny, she wasn't exactly the most attractive. Since the books were in Harry's perspective, it might've just been how he sees girls in general or due to how he disliked her in the beginning. I don't know.

    • @alexandrorocca7142
      @alexandrorocca7142 Před 4 lety +40

      Perhaps not, but only Viktor Krum thought that she was actually a pretty girl before the makeover. Ron wasn't really attracted to her until he saw her with someone else.

      @@alexandrorocca7142 I agree with you but I think it was more like her personality. No offense to Hermione but there were many pretty girls who fawned over Victor, much to his dislike. When he saw Hermione in the library, he liked that she didn't swoon or fawn over him. But that's what I got from the scene so I don't disagree with you.

      @@terryroberson895 Of course, Emma Watson was a cute kid, and she was clearly smart and a very good actress. A little too pretty though to justify the reaction of her friends and fellow students when she entered the ballroom in GOF. In the book, Harry didn't even recognize her at first, and she was like a sister to him.
