This was amazing Raul can sing anything and considering the fact that he sung this at 8:45 in the morning after doing shows for the last two days is just friggin amazing I mean if I tried to sing that early in the morning I would sound like a dying elephant
I am most familiar with Mr. Esparza's work from You Tube and videos. I have a question. Whenever casting a musical with a leading man role, why not just ask him first, its seems like he can do anything, and extraordinarly well. I saw the Company video, and he is the only Bobby who made me believe in the character, and I was a replacement in the original Broadway production, so I saw both Dean Jones and Larry Kert and lots more along the way. He is amazing!!
Thats the beauty of broadway, you're always singing live 24/7 and he's got such am impeccable masculine vocal! Love you Raul aka District Attorney Barba!
Voices will sound raspy that early in the morning. I'm sure the man woke up no sooner than 2-3 hours before the show, and it takes a lot longer than that for the voice to warm up. My [singing] voice sounds raspy like that until later in the day.

whoa your comment was 13 years ago but I am so fascinated. Tell us more about being in the original production as a replacement!
He's gorgeous, he is.
Raul is freakin AWESOME!!! Singing at 8:45 is hard enough but to sing Sondheim's music with such power is amazing. Love love love him.
God He is AMAAAAZZING, he was the best part of that Company revival
Raul is amazing!
And I like how the guy says "Good luck at the Emmys" right before he performs.

OMG, it was 7:30 in the morning and he had two shows the day before. Lighten up.
The interviewer said "Emmy's" instead of "Tony's." XD
