Yea really, there should be more there. Even with Janis Joplin there is a bronze plaque placed on a pole in the middle of the front yard with a write up of the singer legend as a tribute ..
my name is Ricardo Valenzuela and growing up my family and friends would call me Ritchie Valens... or the popular line in the movie.... My Ritchie!. love to hear stories about him. RIP Ritchie.
This boy was a good singer, he died so young, his music still lives and his dream came true he bought his mom a house, that was his biggest dream and they earned that house
Thanks for posting Ritchie's home...he was a very talented and is a legendary latino rock and roller. we missed his contribution to our arts and music society.
Pacoima, Ca has a park named after him. And also a portion of the freeway interstate highway 5 in the San Fernando Valley is named after him. GIVE IT TIME.....
Ritchie valens “goosebumps “ what a beautiful mind that projected everything we feel 😍 I have him in my American diner ... where all greats belong 😍😘 love u Ritchie , my kids know who you are and know your songs ....
one of my co-workers lives across the street for Richie's house the one on Gage some Mexican lady lives and they still have that Underground room that Richie lived in
Everyone's life is filled with up's & downs, people who like us & people who don't, No one's life is perfect except for our Lord's. I'm just very Thankful that I got to here Ritchie's music, & fall in love with it. Every so often I pull out my cd's & play them for hour's. Ritchie was such a handsome young man & would of gone alot farther in the music business I'm sure. One Thankful fan from Wyoming for Ritchie Valens.
Thanks Clyde - dig your videos man. As a musician I can tell you Ritchie was a monster guitar player for only being 17 and a great singer/songwriter too.
I was born in 1990 and I listen to his music and buddy holly...I now have a 2 and 3 year old and I have them listen to their music too... besides the 90s music I also liked the 50 and 60s music
The U. K. has the 'Blue Plaque' that denotes homes and sites of interest - where famous artists/musicians/politician/public figures lived. The United States certainly has produced as many, if not more. Ritchie Valens certainly deserves such an honor. (From a 57 yr old, mid-western, white dude's perspective anyway...)
Same. I went to Alemany High School on Rinaldi. I hung out in Pacoima alot. I'll go find it next time I'm home. I also have a lot of relatives in the San Fernando Mission Cemetery. I'll find him there too.
I was just 11 years old when this happened in 1959. I wish I had paid more attention back then. I named my only daughter after his song Donna that I would always sing to myself back then. The name stuck on me. 📻🧸
Gosh what a beautiful day home and area it's a pity this home hasnt been mowed you would never had known someone with so much talent and well known world wide would have lived here once and then died tragically such a beautiful home I'd live here for sure in a heartbeat
I truly loved the story an movie about this young man, I'm so sorry he had to die so young he had his whole life ahead of him. My heart goes out to his family, love u richie.😇😘😘💋💋💋
After watching this video, I realized that his birthday is the day before mine and he died the same date as my dad. I have always loved him and his music although I wasn’t born yet. Such a great talent. Who knows what he could have accomplished had he lived. RIP RITCHIE.
Pacoima was my neighborhood as a kid and it's weird knowing that Led Zeppelin were inspired by a kid from there. Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock bands and they were inspired by a Mexican kid from my neighborhood. Its amazing that they Robert Plant and Jimmy Page visited the Ritchies family in the very house Ritchie had bought for his mom back in the early 70's. Growing up I also was a big fan of Led Zeppelin but had little knowledge of Ritchie in my own backyard so to speak. Little by little I became aware of Ritchie and his story and the impact he had in rock and roll. Its amazing to think that a kid from my neck of the woods was to be a pioneer of form of music that still rages on today. If there any doubt what Ritchie's contribution made to Rock and Roll had made one need only look at the greats of all time and be proud that they stood on the likes of a local kid in a not so prosperous part of town and be left amazed at the contribution he has made to a form of music that lives on today. I will be driving my Ritchie's as soon as of this writing as I am still in the area and cant so to have a sense of wonder as his legacy and of the greats in music he helped shape.
I agree a museum that would be beautiful historical of Ritchie Valens, home a famous young man that still is will remembered! I will definitely go..🥰🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵. Famous songs come on let’s go, oh Donna, La Bamba and more..They should name the street after him he loved his family he was amazing young man..R.I.P 😢🙏🌹Ritchie Valens..My parents live really close too his house 🏡 my grandmother is buried were he is buried and his mother R.I.P and I had my sweet 15, church where he had his wake, same church, like I have connections with this young man and I have meet his manger too and attended Pacioma Junior high, during summer time...👍🏼😷👼 Where Ritchie, would sing 🎶 to his friends after school.💜
Big fan of Ritchie valens.... I met his manager Bob Keane in Orlando fl....before his death..said very deep words of love for Ritchie...rest in peace..
Wow man just finding these vids. I am a huge ritchie fan i appreciate you doing that and the bits of info some people might not know. The stuff about page and plant visiting was cool didn't know that
Hello Clyde, thank you for the TOUR of Ritchie's home town and various places where he knew and lived. You did an excellent job and your videos will give Ritchie's fans a lot to be grateful for. You can lookup my tribute video RITCHIE VALENS AND BOB DYLAN 11DAYS.... Best wishes to you. Louis
Yesterday idk why I was listening to la bamba and come on let's go then I went on fb to look at the videos and come to find out it was his birthday. I felt happy that my instincts of listening lead me to the reminder on his birthday & then I came on CZcams for more and now I'm watching this awesome video of the house. Thank you. RIP Ritchieeee 😏

It seems like the community there don’t give a crap about Richie Valens house or the history. The grass is all yellow, the trees need trimming. The Neighbor’s house look better kept. Sad sad sad.
Thanks .I would show you Buddy Holly's house but the house sadly was moved from the neighborhood. I rented a house that still had the original homes of his bandmates on 6th Street. Lubbock Texas
17 years and he bought the house for his mom ..amazing and talented
His music keep him alive.
That's the first house, he bought for his mother he died too young.
He didn't buy her the house ,he gave the down payment..1,500
That house needs a plaque commemorating it . Ritchie once owned it that’s so important!!!
I agree 👍
8 month career with multiple hits and bought his mother a home as a high school student. Amazing as a Mexican in America during the 50s
My moms folks sold this house to Ritchie Valens, So stoked you have this footage. Contact me if you need more history and original photos
Michael Stewart contact you where?
Yes please
Don’t just say it do it footages all that ish
Please post on CZcams we I’ll subscribe to your channel

The street should be named after him just feel there should be more there. Interesting video thanks and RIP Richie
Yea really, there should be more there. Even with Janis Joplin there is a bronze plaque placed on a pole in the middle of the front yard with a write up of the singer legend as a tribute ..
Name it Ritchie" no talent " Valens road
There is already a freeway named after him
@Craig Willis they named a segment of I-5 after him. czcams.com/video/RmYkClps-yM/video.html

@@anacarmona4691 que pendeja esta usted el no pidio like pendeja
Good idea but it's located in a neighborhood with homes close together and parking would be a nightmare. Maybe it could be moved.
Such a trip. My cousin lives two blocks over and I never knew it. I must have driven by this block a thousand times. Wow. Rip ritchie
Isn't that way it always goes? Same thing happened to me, only it wasn't anything as cool as Ritchie Valen's house.
@@ProudKansan08
This boy was a good singer, he died so young, his music still lives and his dream came true he bought his mom a house, that was his biggest dream and they earned that house
Ritchie was a genius on that guitar
Thanks for posting Ritchie's home...he was a very talented and is a legendary latino rock and roller. we missed his contribution to our arts and music society.

Donna's dad was a jerk in my book
Yeah he was a Racist
@@demetriusbrackins6938 ele ja morreu? Pai da donna?
he was racist
He didn't like Mexican look at the year 1960
He was just a product of his time. No one is to blame.
Yes I believe Donna's dad was a racist .I'm sure he didn't like Black people as well .

Bob's birth name was Kuhn. He tweaked it to Keane to avoid anti-Semitism. He worked his caboose off for Ritchie and really believed in his talent.
