    By far one of the best videos on eclipses I’ve seen. The minor axis in line with the vanishing point is the trick. Thank you!

    wow I just started industrial design drawing a few months ago and have been wondering why my lines are never straight. Your few seconds advice on the position to hold the pen made such a huge difference to my lines! Ironic because i came here to learn to draw ellipses LOL Thank u!

  • @byronsebastianalmeidachica6024

    i saw your work 4 years ago because of a teacher in Madrid, i have looked 4 it but didnt remember the channel, now i am back in Madrid and went to see my teacher and of course, i asked him what your name and channel were. great video

    wow! beautiful explanation! possibly the most no-nonsense straight to the point good stuff elipse talk i've seen. Struggled with getting them with everything from Loomis to Scott Robertson and I still got a bit more understanding out of this while getting super quick condensed summary of things I had known. thank you!

    NIce job, Spencer! It appears you've been drawing some cars. Amazing! I love how you put in the side mirrors. I would have had to use perspective. You put them in like someone crossing t's or dotting i's in writing. Fantastic! Thanks, for the video Spencer!

    Oh my God, I think I got it. QUESTION!!! About the whole 8:32 part. Fantastic by the way. But I don't quite understand the part where you say "If I have a face at an angle, it's going to go to the auxilary vanishing point that's off to an angle"? (Minute 9:10) There's something about the wording that confuses me, can you think of another way of explaining the relationship between the "face on which the ellipse rests" and the vanishing point to which the axis heads?
    Thanks for a great video!

    what does the minor axis do if you draw a wheel in 1-point? would it converge to the center vp, or would it just be perfectly horizontal?

    Spencer I'll try to condense this as much as poss, about ellipses. I do product design for a hobby. I'm drawing a controller for ps4 in 2 point. When I look at the real controller holding it at an angle with the z axis at 90 degrees the ellipses are purely flat but when I try to draw it following these rules they're always at an angle. I hope this makes sense, could you maybe give a brief explanation as to what I may be doing wrong? Thank you, love the videos!!

    • @retardno002
      @retardno002 Před 2 lety

      Take a photo of the controller from that z axis at 90 deg angle, it will become obvious what the issue is. Perhaps your vanishing points are too close and that gives you some distortion?

    I continue to struggle with getting cups/vases/etc correct in application. I get the theory, but how do you draw and object in front of you? I would really appreciate if you could briefly comment --- I have a cup on a table -- do I make up a vanishing point? Most likely, I would make up a VP in the wrong location to what is physically in front of me.

    • @retardno002
      @retardno002 Před 2 lety

      Look around for straight lines that can describe your plane, they usually converge to some point, that's your VP.
