Wendy has a nice voice. Whitney's was out of this world. Wendy has a pageantry- paint-by- numbers delivery. The notes are there, but no fire. Whitney was pure magic.
I think her voice is much more than just "nice," but I see your point. She plays it very safe here and almost exactly replicates the vocal runs in the studio version, not really bringing anything new to the song. IMO she had the potential to get to a Whitney/Mariah/Celine level with time and training, but never got the chance. I can't disagree that Whitney was one of a kind and will never be duplicated... one of those once-in-a-generation talents like a Judy Garland or a Karen Carpenter, an angel sent to grace us all with her voice and taken far too soon. Of course, compared to Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa, Wendy is more than just fire, she's an inferno, pageantry/paint by numbers or not.

The high parts became a little small and narrow, but other than that I think her voice sounds better than studio and a good arrangement.
